I hate kfc I get sick every time I eat it, had food poisoning twice and an x employee used to be a manager for them and said they never changed the cooking fat unless food standards agency were about or a top boss

KFC is the lowest of the low in terms of taste and food quality. Been to a drive-in of theirs here in Holland in 2013, my first and also my last visit to this bottom-of-the-food-chain factory: utterly disgusting "food".

It's true. Here in my hometown there is a single McDonalds. It is very clean, spotless even, they act like smiling robots, same prices as in US, less variety, smaller portions, tastes different too. And it is the most profitable eatery in the city BY FAR. Long lines, even at night at the drive through.

McDonald's over the last few yrs has undergone a make over of it's restaurants. Giving them a new look, even having flowers on the tables. Different seats and tables, giving the ambiance of something more upscale.

many do. The ones near me are. It's not the sparkly-ness. McDonald's is trying a new look...trying to keep up with Starbucks, including serving fraps and lattes, and wifi...so they have redesigned their look.
Depends on where you go, you might find mostly Latinos employed. Or mostly white. Or a mix.

I never said that McDonald's hires mostly Latinos or whites. I don't know what their hiring demographics are. But, In many areas with with a sizable Latino population, it seems that one of many places that will start off work are fast food joints. This is also true for many an American youth, of any race. If fluent in English, the front line (cashier) if not, then in the back. From observation, mostly females. And the 4 McDonald's in my area have mostly Latinos working there.
The McDonald's in my area are clean, with revamped designs. If you read the article and took a look at pics that I googled for you, then you would know that in certain markets they are revamping the restaurants for a more upscale look.

A few yrs ago, I went into one and it was done up in this "cozy" style...dim mood lighting, muted tones, with cozy wrap around sofa/seats in dark warm tones, and flowers on each table.
I had to do a double take...like WTF, no more of those seat you can slide in and out of...
They are serving Chicken Nuggets, not gourmet chicken.

I never eat from fast food takeaways, some bodybuilders love going to Mc Donalds or KFC for cheat meals, not me. Very unethical companies.

That's what was done to the mcdonalds by my house. Another change they made was to completely remove the kids play area.

They want you to go there for a nice meal with the wife/girlfriend. Sit and chat over a Big Mac and large fry. While you sip a frap and she sips an Ice Coffee.
Kids interrupt this quality time.
And kids today aren't as active (and possibly not as clean) as they were years ago.

A friend worked for 6 months in a chicken factory - and he said all the chicken destined for the KFC suppliers about 40 miles away, was their finest grade AAA meat - and that it was the regular meat that went into pies and so on.
So it kind of busted the myth about KFC only having scabby birds - they have the very best, at least in the middle of England.
McDonalds in the UK is very slick and very clean indeed. Burger King let's themselves down, they have the best burgers but the scruffiest foreigner's i have ever seen whom probably shit into their own hands at home.

I ate about a quarter of the three things I had ordered, the rest I threw in the garden for the birds. Next day it was still there, even they wouldn't touch it. Resembled chemical waste.

I can't believe I ate that crap when I was young. Even in my mcgriddle days, I couldn't stomach KFC. It's just something that doesn't taste like food. Everything on the menu tastes like food that has been in your fridge for 3 days. Stale and low-quality. Period. I can stomach most fast food in a pinch if I'm starving and have a cold drink to wash it down fast... but not KFC.

From what I know from my friends from NY McDonalds in the heart of Manhattan looks like shit also. Every McDonalds I've seen in Seattle area looked beyond horrible.
I would take Starbucks and give you our "clean McDonalds" anyday. At least they serve good coffee in many variations and whatever food they give you leaves you full for couple of hours. McDonalds gives you this effect only in outrageous amounts and it is i-am-at-the-edge-of-vomiting kind of fullness.

Hey I'm not advocating eating this shit....just saying I'm from a typical upper-middle class neighborhood and have lived in "nicer" areas of town in most places I've lived. It's all well to do people eating in clean restaurants. Only time I've been in shitholes was when I was in a sketchy part of town, which I avoid like the plague.

I've literally never seen a dirty one. USA has its issues but typically our restaurant sanitation laws are top notch.

There's a nice McDonalds within the Disney Orlando resort near Santa's winter and summer mini golf courses. And an upmarket McDonalds restaurant on Universal Boulevard as it crosses International drive. Table cloths and everything. Slim white servers in both too which is unusual although I believe Walt Disney was a raciest fellow.

They have a doorman, a piano player on site, an active Ronald McDonald that actually interacts with the kids and cleans up after the customers, tables made from mahogany wood and you can even have your &guy patty cooked to your preference (rare, medium rare etc.).

The bathrooms are spacious and the food is cooked well.
The major problem I remembered was rude staff (due to the fact that they were being rushed by a manager that stands right behind them as they take your order).
