Probably the single most important pose. It's sad to see so many competitors, even pro's, unable to hit it properly.its not hard to hit it properly,its very easy.
The best I have seen on this board, competitor or recreational is Groink by far.

I know Hindsight is 20/20 but if you gained the weight back in a day or two and still looked that great it`s a fucking shame.
You must be like me and have a tendency to overdiet...not that I`m in your league of course,but in an effort to get shredded for a big show,we sometimes take it too far as we know we must be conditioned to the max in order to place but sometimes lose the fullness in the process.
At any rate,even in the lighter pics you lok great.

Super cold, no carb, no pump measurement first thing in the AM~ I was actually surprised. Had the tape been pulled straight across the depth of the Triceps I might have been closer to 18" cold. As you know, I'm only 5'6" (maybe 5'7") at 190 lbs.

Just an opinion based on what I see mate - it wasn't an accident that Benfatto broke out in the early nineties
bob looked good til he turned pro. he won the Canadians after I had done them the first time and I remember thinking he didn't look much If any better than me. one problem was I never did the nationals two years in a row, so the judges were never looking for me.Therein lies a big problem in my opinion.

Brian Joseph was from Vancouver. there was definitely a eastern Canada favoritism on the scene in that period. all three mentioned were in muscle mag international countless times, while I only ever saw one pic of joseph in it after the show.That sucks,but if he won the overalll................ ....... ???

I had already gone through the regional contests and was actually favored to take the Canadian nationals when and if I ever competed . PS The judging was always handled in a ridiculous fashion also . Just as it is today . Now all that being said I still look basically the same which is a hell of a lot better then either HANEY DORIAN or Roni ( according to me anyway lol ) ! I guess thats sort of a consolation :)

In fact I was told I was better then LABRADA at the time . I simply wasn't going to do the ridiculous amount of drugs associated . Hence now at 49 I have maintained much the same look with no injuries .

I'm busy working with a sports medicine clinic in TORONTO and they're very big on associating my knowledge of biomechanics in relationship to muscle building to reinforce their physiotherapy program . So if I can pull of some great conditioning without going overboard with the SUPPLEMENTS I'm in . We'll see . Ps I also have to get over the pure weirdness that's become associated with the whole thing .
