Terrible choice.
The C-Class is basically an economy car with some "luxury" accessories that Mercedes sticks it's badge on. The 3-Series is so far ahead of the C-Class there really is no competiton. Not to mention that you'd get better value and performance out of Acura or Infiniti.
Getting a C-Class is like being a natural bodybuilder. You're kidding yourself.
U need to at least step up to an E-Class if u want the real Mercedes experience.

C Class is a nice choice. Engineering is awesome. Most bitches won't realize it is the entry level mercedes. Entry level Japanese luxury cars are a scam. Lexus is really a Camry, Acura a Civic. Stick with Benz good choice. Those who whine that cars lose value must have got scammed into leasing or just can't have a car at all.

I wouldn't do it. I recently test drove one and compared to a slightly higher priced BMW...
- Mercedes seats were uncomfortable
- Mercedes engine way to small for the car
- Mercedes is quiet inside in terms of insulating out the sound of other traffic but a lot of noise coming up through the wheels
This was comparing a C200 against a BMW 320i Sport.
Out here, the C200 sets you back $67k and the 320i is about $79k - probably double what you'd pay in the US. Fuck paying that sort of price for a slow, uncomfortable and noisy car...

I am a total Mercedes nut. Have owned nothing else since 1995. I'm on my third S class after working my way through 190E, original rectangular C class to E class to S class.
I have bought my wife nothing but various models of C class for the past 15 years. Best was the c320 sports coupe evolution panoramic I bought her in 2003. Currently has a c200 compressor sport but the new slk250 AMG arrives in March. she is keeping the C class for the days she needs 4 seats.
Personally I sometimes drive her C class when I am going somewhere where my S class has difficulty parking or if I am visiting a new client and I don't want him to think my prices are too high :D

Current model C-class is as you say not very convincing: small, especially trunk and rear seat, disappointing ride comfort and too much windnoise and tire noise. Add a high price and poor guarantee, and I think it's a bad deal. New one should be better, but in terms of value for money it will not be best

Women should learn the difference between some cars. Getting a C class says so much about a person: you want a Mercedes, you can't afford the nicer ones...but you still want the "image." It's kind of a turn off to be honest. Just like women who bought the tiniest Coach (when they were popular) bags just to have that label. If I see someone driving a luxury car, it better be because they have crazy money to burn and/or they just really appreciate nice cars.

Most of these had a straight 6 3.0 litre and were pretty slow. Earlier ones even had a 2.5 litre. The one in the pic has a 6.3 litre 300 HP engine and was the fastest saloon in the world in the early 70's.
Check out the interior, pure old school class.

overall, I love Mercedes, but I wouldn't buy a C-Class. (well, I love Mercedes street cars... absolutely despise Mercedes/McLaren in Formula1)
not other german automobile has the prestige of Mercedes. it's the pinnacle of German automotive engineering (maybe Porsche comes close, but that's apples to oranges). Audi and BMW will always be fighting for 2nd place... sure, they're good driving cars, with better 'road feel' and a better visceral driving experience than Benz, but they still don't command the attention/respect of a benz. you close the door on a benz and it's a solid "thud", the interior's are solid.. non of the squeaks and rattles you get in a bmw (esp 3series). sure, there were a few bad years with electrical gremlins, but nothing like what Audi's tend to have with your dash lit up like a xmas tree (and I love the Audi 6 and 8's).
give me unlimited funds, and i'll take an S65 over a Bentley Flying Spur, Mulsanne, or Phantom anyday.

Well - out here the 328i will cost you $100k whereas the 320i is just under $80k.
The 328i is the same inside, outside it's a little different, with the low profile wheels and a bit of a body kit and obviously you have the added power.
But for me living in Bangkok, with traffic the way it is - I don't see the sense in paying $20k for the upgrade. I think in the US it's just another $4k.
My poverty spec 320i sport will be with me in February, probably... although the dealer seems a bit sketchy on the dates.

swings/snatches.
On totally non process food diet, olives replacing oil,no bread,no soft drinks,no rice,etc,.... in short mega minerals food diet.
My only junk is coffee :(

I decided enough was enough - the wife can use the Pajero for shopping. I decided to get something that was a great driving experience. Still, within reason considering the country I live in these things cost a lot more than the country I come from.
So I got a BMW - nothing special, I let the wife choose the color 'cause I care more about the driving it and very little about what it looks like to others.

nice color choice, I do like the front end on the f30
For practicality's sake (having a big fucking dog) I'm contemplating the wagon, but over here in the US they only sell the 328i version not the 335i .. and it's more expensive than a 335i sedan. It's like BMW USA intentionally doesn't want to sell amazing wagons so they can sell more shitty compact SUV's instead.

i had a 335 twin turbo 2007 when they 1st came out,,a beast was hanging with the e46 version m3..
