Title: Your binges
Post by: Wolfox on February 21, 2014, 09:46:09 PM
An entire bag of oreos 1 night  :-\

2 hours at an all you can eat chinese buffet... maybe 7 plates total.

Both were after successful low carb diets. I just had to binge.

I remember one time I went without a refeed for 4 weeks... to break my fast I went to Jacks and loaded up on sourdough jacks and tacos. And order 2 pizzas.

Damn that felt good.

That's why I no longer do low carb. You're putting off paying your bill.

Eventually, when it comes in (and it always does), you'll have to pay it back with interest. It's always a heavy carb invoice you get slapped with.

I made my peace with carbs not long ago. Just this month, actually.

1 reeces each night.   other than that, the day is full of chicken, rice, veggies, a little bit of sweet rolls, etc.

As did I.

Extremely low carb diets can contribute to bad binge eating habits.

And often what happens is people use T3, Clen and DNP to cover up their binges.

I can eat a 10 inch pizza and a milkshake...I feel horrible afterwards though.

Milkshake 600 calories..pizza probably about 1500.

2100 calories in one sitting for me is tough....I feel sick after.

But I've done it.

First meal after my first show, I killed 2 large Domino's and then proceeded to lay in my bed in agony, sweating and farting profusely as my pizza belly worked as hard as possible to not explode from my stomach.

That's it? Sissy!

When I had binges, they would be something like a family bag of crisps + a roll of chocolate chip cookies + a roll of cheddar cookies + a pack of sugar waffles + a big tub of ice cream + a few 'frikandellen' (fried sausages). That would be one sitting, but would take me a few hours. Oh, and no puking afterwards. Yes, I was a hippowhale back then...

Those were very female emo binges...   :'(
(think PMS, crappy boyfriend, unhappy childhood, depression)

Could not do those now. But the half of it... Still tempting when having PMS.  :-[
Luckily I found out I'm allergic to wheat, and that's in about everything. So having such a binge wheat free would either be very expensive or takes a lot op prep time when making it from scratch.

Low carb sucks for everyday life, hard to maintain.  >:(

Worst binge I had was during my active days as a cyclist, was hungover and finished 3 hours of cycling, ended up with 22 slices of pizza at Pizza hut.

I understand. Shit happens....some people eat when they are in a bad state...others don't. I'm lucky...when I'm unhinged I can't eat.

My big weakness for binging.....ice cream.  :) Heaven cream.

Dunno why, but I don't find low carb too taxing. I cycle between 100-300g clean carbs (rice, sweet potatoes, veggies) a day and no more. It took a while, but I seem to have permenantly suppressed that need.

if I want a food i eat it. i don't deprive myself.  This way i don't feel like binging and i'm eating the right amounts.   Eating "clean" is foolish if you're gonna wind up having a meltdown and eat twice as much as you should.   I don't eat a lot of sugary or oily foods by choice because it can upset stomach, but a serving or two every day sure.

eating a gallon of ice cream or 2 pizzas at a time?  that's what "clean eating" does?  psshhh

Me too. I diet much more successfully, longer, and without binges, when I eat carbs. No carb is like an extreme unsustainable crash diet for me.... after a couple weeks I freak out and eat a horrible cheat meal or day and then feel horribly mentally.... eating carbs is more like a sustainable lifestyle, I can eat it everyday without losing my sanity.

I have no reason to no carb diet anyway,  im not competing and im not on a timeline, so fuck it.

Not to mention low-carb was never designed as a lifestyle choice. Your body has to produce glucagon to compensate for the low sugar levels in your blood from lack of insulin release. Plus you have to take like 4 teaspoons of metamucil a day just to take a dump.

And your workouts are like 30% of your max, and you fee flat after. Don't even try weights + CARDIO on low carb.

So I mean, is it worth it? It's like speeding to get to your destination
carbs are driving the speed limit
you'll get there, 30 minutes later maybe.

And carbs make my muscles feel so full I feel I just had 5 scoops of NoXplode
when I cycle them low-medium-high
high carb all weeks makes me feel bloated and lazy, so that's not even desirable either

Again you have absolutely zero fucking idea what you are talking about, people on this site have done KETO diets for months, zero fucking carbs.

Stop reading the magazines and trawling gay hook up sites and try and learn something from the people here.

agreed... working out in no carbs makes me feel like im digging deeper into a whole that my body isnt climbing out of, like im tearing myself down but not rebuilding, and I always am exhausted and feel like ass. Carbs make me feel like im actually accomplishing something... pumps feel good, no pumps without carbs. Body actually has energy and can push myself hard with carbs. Without look leaner, but flat and thin.

ive just resigned myself to carrying a little water and getting there slower, but actually getting there and not wrecking abd giving up on the side of the road somwhere.

This was my savage binge. I was dieting for my first show. 12 weeks of dieting with no cheats. 6 weeks left to go. Coach said that on Saturday night, I could eat whatever I wanted for 2 hours. Then, back on the plan.

I came home from working the bar that night, and here's what I ate:

12 whole eggs, scrambled, with a whole onion, a whole pepper, and 1lb of bacon. I subsequently spread that out on 12 pieces of toast with mayonnaise and sliced tomatoes, and ate it all.

Then, I grilled up 8 pork loin chops, and ate those with some bbq and hot sauce.

Then I ate a whole roasted chicken, skin and all.

Didn't drink a single thing - I didn't want liquids taking up room in my belly and preventing me from eating (some of you guys who do shows know what I'm talking about).

Then I freaked out as veins popped all over the place in areas I didn't even know I had veins. I freaked as I filled out, took a bunch of pictures, and then within 2 hours, it as all over. Spilled over like crazy, everything washed out, I could only see my top row of abs, and then spent the next 4 hours doubled over in pain in my bed in my dorm room, making the occasional dash to the communal washroom in residence clad only in my underwear, voiding my bowels in the most disgustingly loud and malodorous fashion much to the horror of the girls on my floor.

For the last few weeks, in my pretty lean state that junior year, I was starting to get lots of attention from girls. Then that night happened, and not a single girl on the floor would come near me. Part pity, part disgust, part shock, part horror.

Sometimes a cheat meal costs you more than you think.

Still, it was all for the thonged glory and attention of the schmoes at my entry level contest 6 weeks later, where I would place 5th in the heavyweight class and earn a small plastic trophy and a jug of egg protein. So it was worth it.

Yeah basically that.

What I don't do is buy into the GI index and simple/complex way of looking at them. I just use them based on how I feel. If I'm hungry and want to feel full for hours, I use oatmeal, rice, potatoes, whatever. If I'm looking for a shot of energy, I use fruit, or a carb powder. And I find doing it that way rather than meticulously calculating the quantities in grams and figuring out which one spike my insulin more, is the best way of using them and not abusing them.

I'll go flat 3 days, then load up and my next workout will be insane.

I've found it useful to think of carbs in weekly terms.

So, if you want to average 125 grams day, you can do four low carb days, 50 or less. That leaves you 675 grams for the three other days. Most people should be able to stick to that.

The problem with low carb, all the time, diets, as others have pointed out, is that they're hard to stick with long term.

Carb cycling gives you the best of both worlds, and, IMO, makes you less likely to binge.
