Who's got the best deadlift on GetBig?
Keep in mind;
1. Your best lift ever x 1
2. Best lift for high (12 +) reps
3. Please also state if done RAW, belt/nobelt and/or with straps
4. Full rom. Rack lifts do not count!
I start. Best ever deadlift was 260kg x 1 (belt+straps)
For high reps 210kg x 21 (also belt and straps)
Van Bilderass have some great feats. 300kg x 2 raw i believe.
I'm sure we have tons of great lifters here!
So let's get it on! No minimum lift recuired! If your max is not so much, please participate anyway!

hm
something like 180-200kgs for 8 reps, no belt no straps, no gloves, no nothing.
this was off gear, never do dl anymore and esp never on gear.
i remember i had big problems breaking 3 plates for few reps for a while, simply because of the forearms strenght, thatd let lose first.
and yes, straps add a shitton of weight, its plain cheating, do it raw with nothing of fuck off.
its takes pressure off the grip strenght-forearms, usualy the weakest part for many, so hows that not cheating.
might aswell mount hooks on the shoulders,if you get what i mean
-
650 competition (conventional)
500x10 (no straps)
Note: drug-free

I think 'backday' is probably the best. World Record back in the 90s.
My best raw, no belt, no straps is 300kg/660lbs x 6, 310kg/682lbs x 3... never did a max raw at my strongest due to being a pussy. Conventional with belt and suit, 355kg/782lbs. Bodyweight about 225lbs.
I'm giving it a couple of months to hit 340kg/750lbs raw, then I'm going to stop lifting heavy. Too many injuires. :D
I did 12 reps with 600lbs two weeks ago... damn, high reps take a long time to recover from. Next deadlift workout a week later was useless.
-
My best right now is 435, I'm aiming for 500 in a few months. All natural. No straps either.
-
Fucking pussy weight, but I hit 315x6 this morning. Keep in mind that I am still in PT for my Achilles' tendon rupture and trying not to be an idiot.
No belt, wraps, straps or gloves. My grip never gives out first.

Would you consider over/under grip cheating? Just curious as that does take the pressure off the forearms as well. I can do about the same weight with straps as I can with an over/under grip. I do suffer a loss with the double overhand grip. I still can`t get the thumb right for a hook grip and I don`t really want to destroy my thumb or "calcify"/ Permanently blue/bruise my thumb.
I don`t use the Over/Under grip much because its basically the same thing as using straps for me. What I do is, use a double overhand grip and when that fails, I go to straps. I found this method to be the best for increasing my grip strength as well as continually increasing Deadlift poundages.
Another interesting thing I noticed, the higher I get in deadlifts, even if using straps, the stronger my grip is meaning I can handle more weight without straps as the poundages go up.
Lifetime Drug Free
1. 600 Straps, Full ROM.
2. 575 for 5-8 Straps- I would have to look back at my old training journals for an exact number.
3. No idea what I could do with double overhand max, but my over/under is nearly the same as with straps.
4. 225 for 112. :)

My best ever was about 305 or 310 for 8 reps.

I switched to over/under grip and never looked back, it just works so much better and is much more comfortable.

I do more with mixed grip vs. straps, for various reasons. I never dropped a weight ever due to grip failing with over/under grip. Double overhand, no hook, I managed to deadlift 500lbs but dropped it just after lockout. Mixed grip, I held 1000lbs for 3 seconds. :D

622 lbs. Belt only. Done at a full power meet. Body weight 181 lbs.
-
I lost count... it was over 500 lbs for 3 reps ~
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 188 lbs.
Age: 51

Jesus Christ you bitter piece of shit, don`t you have anything to contribute to this board at all?
You are useless.

I agree, it feels right. I was talking to a Powerlifter about the hook grip with the thumb under, and he said unless you have fat padded hands and thick hands, its not going to be easy to do. The mixed grip does feel very good and I do feel the initial ascent of the weight is smoother than with straps.
Do you guys ever worry about bicep injuries with this grip. That is my only concern as to why I don`t go solely to mixed.

Go find something better do since you are unable to deadlift.

adam, for straps i can only say this.
in the smith rack, done shrugs once in frends gym he has no big dumbels, so we used the rack.
each one tried to top the other, the usual ego battle, and at 4 plates a side my fingers felt like they be torn from the hands etcetc.
then put on some kind of straps he had, with some forearm stabilizator thingy, never seen that before and could load 2more plates each side and it felt like nothing.
it really doesnt compare.
its literlay like having a metal hook as hand.

Oh, I agree, but the Mixed grip, for me, is about the same as straps.
-
I absolutely suck at deadlifts. Never been able to pull 5 plates off the floor. I think 425 for reps has been my best.
-

Thats correct, I have low back issues that stop me heavy deadlifting, it's no problem, Im able to work around it and still build an awesome physique. ;)
-
I've done just 490lbs for single with full rom but straps. Bodyweight around 175-ish. I've done 410 or so with no straps but an over/under grip.

Maybe if you trained correctly, you would never have any low back issues.

I've pulled over 600 over and under 220 at meets.
Meet coming up shortly and hope to pull 625 or better.

Probably not. But my surgeon did clear me for lower body work.

I've done 3 sets of ten with 405 before also clean. I don't do that shit anymore though.

Competed in the USPF (United States Powerlifting Federation) for many years. During those years the USPF was the premier powerlifting organization in the world.
My PR in competition is 733 in the 275 pound weight class. I weighed 272 that day.
My best rep DL was 505 X 20. Yes 505 X 20. All clean reps. I did use straps for the 20 reps. Did the set at around 238-240 pounds, far from my heaviest bodyweight but a good mix of power and some conditioning. Won a bet of about $50 for getting the 20 reps.
-
TA, how do you many to get such a gigantic gap between your quads while holding that weight?

Unreal :o
My heaviest is 495 x 4, no belt or straps
But I'm most proud of doing 15 sets of 315x10 with straps in one hour. That wrecked me for like 5 days

Most I've deadlifted was 240kg. It has always been a good lift for me compared to the other big two. Maybe because I'm tall with long limbs.
I deadlifted today in the gym. Hit 220kg. I used a wide stance, wide grip and a hook grip. No straps or belt. Just gloves. It is usually my grip that goes first with this method and it doesnt help that my gym has some fat ass barbells. :D
The 240kg I did, I used a more conventional stance and a thinner bar which allowed me to pull more weight.
The funny thing is that whenever I go above 180kg, some people actually come up to me for tips like I'm some deadlift king. :)
Would love to see their reaction if someone like tommywishbone came along for a session. ;D
-
TA has a decent static hold
great way to build your grip
if you ever decide to pick the weight up off the ground
-
I deadlift 180k frequently 5 to 8 reps depending on how I am feeling.
I did 200kg for two reps once, I never attempt to keep pushing as I just don't know where my limit might be and I am worried I find out the hard way. I don't have a big ego when it comes to lifts, I only train to look good, which gets me laid. a heavier lift isn't gona make any richer or improve my night club scores, seeing as girls prefer the fitness model type of look. :D

Tip of the cap.

My best on very small dose or tottaly off cycle was 4 plates each side for just a few.
Now barely training crappy nutrition sleeping like shit i do 3 plates on a good day.
I have seen a lot of videos of biceps tears doing deadlifts so i am not aiming for records.
-
200kgs / 440lbs x1 belt, mix grip
190kgs /~415lbs x2 belt, mix grip
180kgs / ~395lbs x 6 with belt and straps.
I've deadlifted a lot, it's one of my favourite things to do in gym.
Never really good at it though -> read, lack of power :)
Totally agree that longer sets are dreadful to recover from!
-
Best 1RM so far was 260kg (~580lbs) at a bodyweight of 90kg (~200lbs).. was using abelt but no straps/suit.
Never do high reps for deadlift.
My goal is to get my ddeadlift up to 300kg by the end of this year at a similar bodyweight. If I get there I will be satisfied and happy :D
-
High reps is relative. Pulling 580....if you worked at 450 or so for 5's or 8's for a couple of sets somewhere in your cycle that 300kgs might come easier.
