how are you preparing your filet?

You do realize real fillet mignon has like 50 grams of fat right? Not like you would get real fillet where you live anyway... It's like liver or chuck with a fillet label on it.

8lbs is overkill for one meal, sev.  I would space it out next time.

You see the pieces, they are 9-10oz each. I heat a pan, then place it 3-4 min on each side. It'll have a 1/2 an inch cooked crust on each side. The rest is raw. I like it bloody. I'd eat it raw as well no problem. Best meat ever. It is true that if you diet consistently on this you will look and feel different than on lifeless, bloodless chicken breast. Polar opposites as far as quality is concerned.

I bought yeatserday 8-9lbs. Here, they don't cut it in pieces. If you do find it, the butcher sells you the whole tenderloin in one piece. Yesterday they had two of them 4lbs and something each so I snatched them both. The pieces you see here are 9oz maybe and when done it'll be 8oz each. This makes up one meal, with one green item you see. I ate 3 times today 8oz filet. Tomorrow probably the same. I eat at most 1kg of meat a day, no more.

Incredibly incorrect on all counts.

One tenderloin usually, around 6 onces is about 28 grams of fat. Give or take depending on cooking method.

I wouldnt expect you to know what I good cut of steak is, you spell Filet Mignon "fillet mignon" for gods sake. You can tell by looking at the pictures that those are great cuts.

For fuck sake, even though you undoubtedly live in a shit-hole area of our great nation, don't foul up the entire image of our country by opening your suck hole any more.

thanks.

absolutely.

I bought a cast iron pan just for making my steak, I do Filet a lot, but I usually get a good marbled cut of rib eye. I oil the pan with peanut/groundnut oil due to its extremely high smoke point, and cook about 2 and half minutes a side, then baste in kerrygold butter for the last minute. Not diet friendly really but fuck man its good.

iT's very good like you do it taste wise. I gave up voluntarily chasing taste and redefined in my mind what food is. It IS functional. It feeds the animal body. I am NOT my body. I just use it. So like a nice car, you wanna keep it tidy clean, is good shape running smoothly. And yes, some of us beef it up via some artificial tunning  ;D

i guess we could look at this in multiple ways

some will claim that vegetables have just as much a right to live or a life force such as a cow or chicken
i can see that point.. but then my argument would be well a human needs to eat atleast something to sustain life

after this agreed upon and now moving on...what life sustanance should we consume the plant or the animal, well one could argue animals feel pain and are more similar too humans so why cut there life short for a measely meal, what if the same was done or thought upon us and we were just a meal to a higher being, we wouldnt want that, we would rather die naturally or by a fight or accidently. If we have a choice why not choose for good instead of bad

i say i feel that by consuming animals we knowingly are commiting and unethical habit but we choose to not think about it and rather show off our next "kill" as a way of coping?

The veggies and insect, the minerals and animals exist to sustain what's above them. It is NOT "cruel".

minerals feed the veggies
veggies feed insects and animals
insects, animala and veggies feed the humans

the question is..

eating insects or animals just aint right. animals feel pain have familys emotions and thoughts. most animals and insects can feed off of plants. humans can eat an entirely plant based diet i would probably never give up butter and cheese though

i think its called pillaging when you not only drink milk , cheese from a cow but also kill it for its meat. thats like saying thanks mom for loaning me 20 bucks ill kill you know for the 2000$ in chash now.

some animals eat other animals and insects, if thats what they do then let them be they obviously dont have the capacity to change, we dont know there language or there thoughts to see what they are thinking.

we have the capacity to not let other beings suffer or have fear

Not necessarily.... connective tissue plays a big role in perceived tenderness.  Filet Mignon/tenderloin comes from the spinal erectors of a cow.  Since a cow doesn't stand upright the spinal erectors don't have to do much work, so the amount of connective tissue will be low.

The tenderloins of a human, on the other hand would be tough as hell.

As far as fat content,  5-10g fat per 30g protein is the average.  Fairly lean imo

Get some asparagus and roast it with evoo until it is almost burnt. Should be cripsy if you do it right but not burnt yet. Be careful if you leave it in 1-2 mins longer it burns fast.

The leanest red meat is the eye of round roast, but it's also super dry and requires you to braise in some liquids that will end up adding carbs to it if you are on keto.

I already said the more tender the more fat content. Flank is a lean steak.. And because of that is it like shoe leather. I used to get my butcher to shread it... Even that wasn't so great. But this thread is about Filet Mignon not roast, flank, or red meat in general. I know you are not arguing FM will get you lean... These other scientists though. Oh brother.

My old man recently harvested an Antelope.

By far my least favorite wild game meat.

Gonna stick with Venison and Moose meat for my wild game.

I am by no means a gun guy, but I have a very powerful air rifle my grandad gave me years ago which is just at the legal limit of pressure for a .22 bullet - the other day it's my daughter's 1st birthday so about 20 greek and english nanny's auntys etc are over having a 'tea party' for her with cake stands, lace, the whole shabang so in front of the gathered nanny elite I say to my son "Let's take daddy's gun upstairs and shoot some crows from your bedroom!" (My son hates crows)

They're all like "No you can't teach him that blah blah blah"

I'm not letting him sit there having a f'ing tea party hahaha we had a great time, shot about 4 birds and killed none just critically injured somewhere  ;D ;D

I explained to him that it's only ok to kill for food, but that the birds we shot will drop somewhere and foxes/worms/rats etc can eat them for dinner, he understood

No lie, by coincidence my son and I were shooting for the first time last week.  Simple Crossman 760 air rifle.  Teaching him the basics - where it can/can never point/ using the safety, leveraging the stock to pump, etc......he's too week to pump the gun more than 4 times so far, which is fine.

Sev, skip the filet and spend you money on Bison.  It is more flavorful and leaner.  Just not sure if Bison live in Romania
No bison here. But I agree, it's a superior meat to cow.

YES...there are certain proteins that give your BUILD a different look .fish/beef I think are best sources.
agreed 100%

I should have added that I would eat red meat and fish for how it makes me feel and look not for the fat content. I think a little fat is beneficial.

Yes, i have. I don't like the soft texture. A good steak will have some resistance to it.
