Title: My 3rd meal today
Post by: Cleanest Natural on March 25, 2014, 08:43:13 AM
It's 17:30 here and I just finished my 3rd meal today: 500g boiled pike fillet (wild) and a tomatoe with a little olive oil. I don't use salt on fish.

2 more meals waiting at home..

Does anyone else use tomatoes when dieting? I keep them in small quantities until pretty lean..

Pike is one of my favourite fish and it's great. Very lean and tastes a little sweet. Awesome for dieting. I just bought 5 kg's so I have maybe 2-3 days worth of fish.. this was wild pike caught in the Danube Delta.

Currently eating some Alaskan Pollock. Boring taste. But cheap, healthy and its decent with black pepper.
And some tomato, cucumber, and broccoli and stuff on the side.

Had some delicious pepper beef yesterday though.

Boiled fish?  like poached?  Why not grilled?  Fish on a grill is perfect.  I don't like the combo of tomatoes with fish. For some reason the combo also makes fish taste funky to me

Nothing beats boiled for me.. my mom comes from old fishermen.. nobody grilled fish

Rheo Blair was a big fan of tomatoes.

He used to advocate them on top of a ricecake as a snack.

I found his advocacy of rice cakes odd considering his low carb stance.

Pike is nice but it can be hard getting all the bones out.

Hmmm never had pike, but interesting that you say it's lean. I fish for pike quite a lot but have never kept them, might give it a try next time, smoking it sounds particular good...

Agreed.... boiled food has to be the worst way to cook food.  I know sev says he doesn't care about taste, but I'd rather grill or roast fish in the oven.  No added fat but lots more flavor

Pike is a fish with one of the lowest bone count in the meat. Goes to show how much you "know".

What is your selection going to be like? Why buy and freeze? I never freeze. I buy meat or fish for 2 days at most (granted, the market is 30ft behind my apartment building).

Yes. At that time I could not button up the neck of my shirts and had tupperware with me at the firm.. people looked at me funny. Cared more about my diet than about brokerage. It was Morgan Stanley.

That's lucky, going shopping for me is out of my way. Which isn't a problem but I have to wrestle with traffic and at the time of day I go I usually deal with empty shelves as they're too lazy to restock during the day. Tonight I bought a load of steak, topped up my chicken breast supply (around 15 breasts) , lamb chops and two packs of diced beef steaks. And premium quality mince. two packs of those. It's about a 2-3 week supply and all the freezer have space for. Also got some salmon which we're having tonight. Making that now actually.

Lot of people don't like freezing stuff but it never bothered me. Take it out for defrosting in the morning, ready for the evening.

It's nice to see a thread that's actually bodybuilding related and not riddled with anti-social loonies.

Sev, your diet is working a treat for me so far, although I need to go ultra clean like you do as there's still some smaller additions on the side I need to cut, mainly fats.

Yes, I learned this through trial and error. You'd be surprised how much of a difference small additions or sometimes cutting something small can make.

Best salad ever...

Tomato cucumber onion chopped mixed with olive oil

This is pretty much the base for a greek salad (which I have on my table at home for every meal apart from a roast dinner lol)

Cucumbers cut thick and very slanted, huge vine tomatoes, purple kalamata olives (de stoned) chopped mild white onion, olive oil, crumbled feta cheese and dashings of extra virgin olive oil and freshly squeezed half a lemon on top.

Toast some fresh pitta and dig in  :P

I used to use red onion for this salad, but I don't like the colour (no homo) so I used very big spanish onions as they're very mild and just add more crispness than anything

Yes, good stuff.

My wife makes a very simple dressing for salad/whatever you wanna throw it on and puts a small pot of it on the table for dinnertime

Basically, 50/50 extra virgin olive oil and balsamic, large pinch of maldon sea salt (regular will be fine) and mixed dry herbs and half clove of crushed garlic

Amazing on anything on the plate lol

Perfect dressing. Easy to make on your own and if you try to buy a bottle of it from Waitrose, it's double the price and full of sugar.

cool, good luck with the diet

I am in the US and so our news is filtered and pro US. With that said, if the Crimeans vote to return to Russia then let them. I still don't understand what they big deal is. I fully understand the Ukrainians being pissed at this and their hatred of Russians. But from what I have heard they ignored that region anyway.  Let me know if my interpretation is not correct.

"voting" is as "real" in Crimeea as is in US. Absolutely NOTHING you ever see or read in the news is real. The present things in a certain way on purpose.
