I think you would only "feel" it if you were to have an inflammatory disease. Or higher than normal levels of inflammation.

And you would have to take a lot of soft gels to notice its impact.

Overrated.

Regarding diet, the #1 thing you can do is stay away from refined sugars.  This will keep you more healthy than anything else.

You need to get your cholesterol and triglyceride levels checked before and after supplementing with fish oil. On a side note you don't sound very bright.

Kind of what I was getting at.  He was abandoning it because he felt nothing.

I take them.

They're inexpensive. They can't hurt. There's enough science to convince me it's going to have an effect.

I'll never know if they've extended my life. But they're at the right price that I don't mind the investment, if it is one.

Fish oil is great if your overall goal is health

Eat fish instead. The gel type pills giveme heartburn.

Try taking the fish oil before your meals. I find if I eat food after the heartburn or fish oil burps are eliminated

I read somewhere a debate about fish oil and what I got out of it is that if you are using fish oil that is not refrigerated with a short exp/date, that it's rotten...

Apparently there are more than a few studies that fish oil has no effect on preventing heart attacks.

The problem is people dont understand supplements they think that if they buy supplements they should see 5 pounds of mass in month or its not working, the fact is first you need to be on a very good diet then add supplements for that extra edge, there are the supplements that a natural bodybuilder can take.

 fish oil
creatine
betaine
l citrulline
d aspartic acid
multi vitamin

I don't eat anything out of the ocean so it's a quick way for me to get some omega fats into me when I can't be bothered with almonds, avocados etc.

adelaide university did a study on its benefits in about 2010..testing over a long time frame against many of its claims.

the conclusion: it does absolutely nothing. it did appear to have some benefit for pregnant women in some area, but it was very minor.

the health food stores and chemists here are overloaded with fish and krill oil... and people are buying it...

I take fish oil for its supposed anti-inflammatory properties.   While I cant say for sure whether its helping with inflamation it does make my skin softer, particularly during the winter months.

Works as a blood thinner. It will make your skin bruise easily if you take higher dosages. This is a fact.

I take roughly three grams with meals and I havent noticed a problem.   When I had surgery they told me to discontinue use because of fish oils blood thinning properties

Aside from the bruising,  did you see any benefits at that dosage?

Just less inflammation...less achy joints. But i don't think that high of a dosage is needed. There are studies on dosages but im on my smart phone right now.

Thanks for the answer,  man.  I have arthritis and I use fish oil primarily for that.  I do think it makes my skin better.  At nearly 37 I have no wrinkles.   Did it improve the quality of your skin?

Cheap Fish Oil is like buying cheap anything.  You get what you pay for.  Do they even say where they source the fish oil from on the bottle?  probably not.

This is one of the reason guys on juice should take them, for the thinning properties.
