Arnold was a legit 6'1.5"-6'2" guy in his prime. Sadly he is no longer even close to that height. Here is a recent pic of him next to 5'11"-6'0" Jimmy Fallon. Has Arnold lost serious height? Yes he has.
BTW, a prime Arnold would have had an easy 2" on Fallon.

Yet they look similar in height. Judging by photos or video isn't accurate. I can look 2 inches taller if i stand tall with good posture and i doubt anyone walks around fully stretched out all the time unless their sly stallone.

He was one of those guys who was insanely muscular his whole life from bucking hay as a 20yr old, never lifted weights with massive forearms and defined traps, wide back, wide shoulders... never lifted in his life. People always asked him if he was a BB and how much he lifted. He hit his late 50s and *wham*, shrunk and looks like a totally different person.

Pictures aren't really a great way of gauging someone's height. I mean, you can get a general sense of whether they're tall or short, but down to the inch ? :-X MY older brother is about almost two inches taller than I am, but in a lot of pics I look taller than or the same height as him.

Thats an admittance of his height loss which was easily a tad below 6'2" back in the day. Basile measured him at over 6'1" and has no reason to lie, musclemag measured him at 6'1.75" in his prime and for the sake of making it easier in magazines rounded it up to 6'2"
I can stand in such a way where i easily lose a couple of inches, then i walk around with good posture and realise that at 5'10" i'm taller than alot of people.
People seem to be taller in general today so back in the day a near 6'2" arnold towered over a majority of people, now at 6' pictured against alot of generally taller people his height loss is more noticeable. He still stands out in a crowd though wading through the swarms at the classics.

Haha, this will never die. Musclemag measured him at 6'1 and 3/4 back in the day, rounded it up to 6'2" for simplicity. Basile measured him as something similar in the 60's. It's clear and obvious he was a tall guy back then.
By his own admission he's 6ft today properly stretched out which obviously doesn't look as tall when everyone seems to be taller these days anyway.

Not uncommon to lose height. My last physical for baseball in H.S.I was 6'1.5" or 6'1.75", I forget. Now I'm down to 6ft or maybe 6' 1/4"... Not counting hair lol. Heavy squating and deads did a number on my back + degenerated discs in my C4-C7

As summer '00 Arnold was still a good 6'1" because he was about eye to eye with me when he donated (almost) all new equipment to my old h.s. gym. Maybe 50 of us showed up for a big ribbon cutting ceremony and shit. Channel10 news was there with Kimberly kunt...hunt.. Whatever. Arnold actually stuck around for a good 30mins. Some other dude was there who'd come to train sometimes. Won the Mr America back in the 70s. Skinny older dude. Never really talked to him. I met him again in 2000 when he was opening a gym, he told me he was 6ft and that he was getting a bad vibe from a guy slightly taller than him , not by much though only around 1/8 of an inch.
Anyway I phoned him last night because of this thread, he asked me was I still training FABIO, I told him he must be thinking of someone else, anyway he confirmed he was 5'10 now.

GetBig's own Vince B measured him circa 1968 at about 6.1 3/4. He was probably still growing by that stage (21 years old) and may have been a solid 6' 2" at his tallest. I forget if Arthur Jones measured him around 1969 or 1970.

I think it's ridiculous people still claim against people that have actually measured him. Photos and even meeting someone and trying to gauge height just by looking doesn't work. I can literally be 2 inches taller just by standing totally upright with proper posture

He was 6'1.5" in his heyday [depending on the time of day, and a little taller in the morning, most likely], and is shorter today - probably 6'0.5" or 6'0, considering he is 70. I would be surprised if he was under 6'0 bare feet today, despite his age.
Also, just look at him walking around in videos - look at the length of his arms; they look long. Stuff like that will clue a person into someone's height even if they are not perfect techniques to use. He was in a photo with Gunter, and they both looked to be the same height. My Dad was 6'1 at one point. at 88 he has been 5'7 for the last decade. no getting around it

He was 6'1.5" in his heyday [depending on the time of day, and a little taller in the morning, most likely], and is shorter today - probably 6'0.5" or 6'0, considering he is 70. I would be surprised if he was under 6'0 bare feet today, despite his age.
Also, just look at him walking around in videos - look at the length of his arms; they look long. Stuff like that will clue a person into someone's height even if they are not perfect techniques to use. He was in a photo with Gunter, and they both looked to be the same height. Not many people have measured Arnold's height. I have. All the rest is just conjecture and not worth the effort. Arnold was/is the tallest Mr Olympia by far. End of story.

736 divided by 609 equals 1.2...multiplied by Devito's height of 4 feet 10 inches....58 inches times 1.2 equals 70 inches....5 feet 10 inches...a number you hear again and again as to his height.
I am 6'2, I met Danny Devito on the set of War Of The Roses. The height difference between Arnold and Danny in this picture is accurate. My height in relation to Danny is the same as Arnold and Danny here. Arnold has shrunk since, we all do and will.

First time I met Arnie was at the '89 Arnold Classic. My friend/training partner went to that show with me (no homo), he is a legit 6'2" and he was about 2" taller than Arnold.

The dude is a 70 year old weightlifter of course he isn't going to be standing as tall as he did at 25. It Is probably more posture than actual shrinkage. When your knees and back are all beat up you don't stand up as tall.
