Lazy eye? Did you watch the video? He is blind in that eye.
Is it from the cancer, or has he always had it?

He's been on ESPN for ages and always had it. He's had some rough issues along the way.

So that makes him even better then. He was/is one of the best sportscasters ever.
Try reading a teleprompter with one eye. :-X

This has nothing to do with politics. It has everything to do with the human spirit.
The will to live is powerful. You either cower like a baby, or you take charge.
Alpha or beta? Alphas face death head on.

Cancer is Alpha, humans, not so much. Hope this helps.

Agreed. But you can choose how you die from cancer. 5 year olds have shown us that.
You can either tank it like an early mike Tyson opponent, or you can get knocked out swinging.
There is a proper way to die.
-
Wait, maybe I misheard, is he refusing treatment?
-

no , he still get chemo treatments, just refuses to know what stage cancer he has

Ok, thanks. Don't blame him at all.

This is why I am glad I do not have kids. I would be the same way. Once a baby is born, your life should belong to ensuring it's survival.
It has to be the worst feeling in the world.

I saw him once live at the ESPN stores in times square. He was prepping to read the prompter. He really comes off as a dude who can be or is a big time jerkoff. Like he wouldn't give you the time of day if you approached him on the street.
Wasn't his eye problem due to being hit with a ball or something?

I have never met Stuart Scott, but It does bring up a good point. Are famous people expected to be nice all of the time?
These people must be bombarded 24/7 by the general public. Stuart Scott is a famous sportscaster. Stuart Scott is a millionaire. Stuart Scott has cancer.
Sorry if he doesn't smile 100% of the time.
-

If I remember right he was hit in the head with a football while covering a practice or something of that nature for ESPN.
-
Stuart Scott networth: 15 million.
He did it the hard way too. Came from the bottom and invested in his companies stock.
He also is also one of the best sportscasters ever.
Even if he dies, his family will be taken care of.
Alpha male.

Thats the most absurd thing I have ever heard. You do not get to choose how you die from cancer.

Shame. The guy was brilliant.

You can't choose how you die from cancer. You can absolutely choose how you handle said cancer.
Pain is inevitable. Fear is inevitable. Serenity in those final days are only reserved for the strong willed.
-
Must commend Shizzo, making some quality posts, attention whoring to a minimum.

I'm kinda put off by the phrase "battling cancer," which sometimes/often leads to one having "lost the battle." I know it's just a figure of speech, but it implies that it's somehow within your control, or ultimately, you didn't fight hard enough.
Just venting, sorry.
(Not that you did this.)

Total bullshit optimism.

Battling is the perfect word for it. Religion aside, miracles do happen. You don't give up until you take your last breath. Positive thinking while suffering from cancer, can't do any harm.
If you dwell on the fact that you will die, you will die.
If you believe that you will beat the disease, you still may die, but your family will be uplifted by your courage.

We're just gonna disagree on this. I'm probably more of a fatalist that way, with false hope and whatnot. I understand your point, though.

Newsflash, you will die anyways. Theres nothing uplifting about being delusional.

Adam, I see right through you.

Adam, I see right through you.
Oh do you?
I am being serious. Show me a miracle. Oh thats right, there is no such thing.
Furthermore, blind optimism is dangerous. Look at this moron Stuart Scott. He wishes not to be informed of the state of his cancer. He chooses to be in the dark. This has severe repercussions as far as potential treatment options go and is a completely shitty thing to do to his family. He has two daughters and they deserve to know how much longer daddy will be around for.
I see it as being selfish totally.

Do you really think that? Millionaire Stuart Scott says: "Hey doc, don't tell me how bad it is, just give me the treatment necessary".
I think that is a great attitude. Why do you need a doctor to predict how long you "supposedly" have to live?
I would want to do it the exact same way.
-

You can choose to give up or to fight. In most cases the latter will prolong your life. I have seen it happen.

Obviously you know fuck all about cancer or anyone who has had it. Yes, its a horrible decision to just say "Hey doc, don't tell me how bad it is, just give me the treatment necessary". There are many different approaches and experimental procedures, such as targeted therapy that require input from the patient. The patient needs to be fully aware and educated on his status to go through with these treatments.
You are a moron.

Why would you assume his doctors don't know? Seems he just doesn't want to know is all. And really, what difference would it make for his daughters to know whether he had years or months, etc.? So they can count down the days? I'm sure they're aware it's serious and are prepared for the worst. Not fair to call him a moron, but I know you like to be controversial that way.
Agree with you on "miracles," though.
-
You never learn do you pisshead.
I learn enough that you try to engage me into a fight in every thread.
Have a nice evening Mr. Simon.

any mention of dag gum heme-iron?

only a moron would change what they put in there bodies to not get that damn cancer in there bodies

A doctor usually is not going to go full aggressive unless the patient gives consent and is aware of the severity of the condition as well as the severity of the treatment. Plus, its up to the patient to seek out experimental treatment and if you don`t know what you have or at what stage, you will have none of these options available. The doctor is not there to make decisions for you. The more educated a patient is, the more options are available.
He can MMA all he wants, but thats not going to do anything at all.
As for the daughters, they may or may not know, but I don`t think Stuart is doing them any favors by keeping himself and his family in the dark as to the severity of his condition. One could argue, since they don`t know, they are counting the days even moreso since they may think the end is near at any time.

Obesity and smoking are the highest causes of cancer though. :-\

life is a miracle.
amazing how we treat something miraculous

Stuart Scott has long been rumored to be a serious asshole.
Most of those who worked at ESPN with him pretty much loathe him.
I consider this karma.
So long, fucko.
As for Roberts, a pathetic dyke who manages to take it one step further by betraying her race since her gross partner is white.

i dont understand why the higher ups want her as the face of everything. race mixing is a decent argument but is it because the lord is actually gay? like gaylord?
there doesnt exist a "straightlord" not that im aware of

Ive heard the same things about Chris Berman, actors, musicians, atheletes etc....
I guess people expect them to be perky and bubbly 100% of the time. Especially when their lives are constantly under a microscope.
-
"Sweet Sassy Molassey!"
I remember SNL doing a bit on Stu Scott on sat night, back in umm 96? 98?... then Monday morning, he used the exact line they made up for him. hilarious.

Berman is an asshole!
correct. bought a hat off my bro at the mall in naples about 16 years back. Was a total prick. "If I wanted 2 for 20, I would have asked for that... I'll pay $15.99 for one because that's what I brought to you!"

Maybe. Or maybe that is the type of personality it takes to make it big. Not saying it's right, but the assholes trample over the nice people.
It's always been that way.
-
Have heard more stories about Berman being a jerkoff than any other so-called celeb.

I don't care for Berman's schtick. Don't watch him on Sunday ESPN countdown, has nothing to do with whether he is an asshole or not away from broadcasting.

Doesnt that make Berman an alpha male?
Mega millionaire, many people claim he is an asshole, yet millions tune in every sunday and monday to hear what he has to say.
Berman is winning.
-
Berman is talented, he is getting paid for his talent and persona he portrays on ESPN. People seem to to like it or he wouldn't be there.
-
But we all still watch. Don't we?
I don`t. YOU do.

yep. you can tell when he's on the air... he gets irritated when someone isn't fast with a response or they try to derail the narrative he's creating.
I think it's because he's clearly past the point of no return on the balding thing and they just keep making him wear that awful combover when he should just buzz it.
a-holes do tend to be highly successful.
