Title: Receding Hairlines - signs and cure?
Post by: Papper on May 01, 2014, 12:24:05 AM
Is there any sure sign to see if your hairline has receded?

If it happens very slowly, how can you notice? Do you see random hairs? Hair follicles spots? Or does the skin looks like before with no trace that a retreat has occured?

Just curious. I suspect it has receded minimally for me, but I am not sure.

I have a barely visible mole on my forehead very near my original hairline. Over the years that gap grew. I then knew I was in trouble.

Quite ingenious, maybe find a skin anomoly and measure the distance :)

Photos are good but I think it's too minimal. But I'm gonna check anyway

Dad and granddad are not bald but I am sure his line is receded. And your mother's dad, I hear, is a good indication too but that is not possible to check for me.

Good tips.

I take it, the skin where the hair has gone from does not show any particular trace then

frown your forehead upwards as much as possible

where it stops the forehead transitions into the scalp

the more "unflexable" part of forehead you have the balder you are

Yes ;D

Kinda get butterflies when I suspected it might have receded.

I also suspect a bad shape for a shaved head (Oval not round)

when you suspect hairloss you have it 5000% of the time

just like when you suspect you are a homo you are realistically packing cock meat 3 times a week

I guess some hairloss is normal for all males so you'd be right

My hairline started receding when I was around 21. The hair around my left temple had receded but I didn’t give it too much notice since it didn’t stop me styling my hair the way I wanted. However, by my mid 20's, the right side of my temple also receded and the hair had thinned on my crown.

I just now shave it all off as that’s the only remaining "look" that is somewhat respectable at this stage.

If this all occurred when I was in my 40's, I would be pretty philosophical about it, but having it happen in your 20's is fucking depressing. :'(

I didn't start noticing real hair loss until I was thirty-four.  Luckily my hair line is still intact.   I have slow loss.   I have never noticed large amounts of hair falling out or clumps of hair in the drain.

I hate hair, it's a useless appendage. What's it there for, to keep my head warm? To shield my brain from the sun?

Most men do not keep their juvenile hairline and develop a mature hairline or a slow receding hairline as they get older.

So about a month ago I started noticing my hair is making a beeline to the back of my head. I went to Target and bought the generic topical minoxidil....Then went home and read about the irreversible limp dick and stopped. So I decided to try the "natural" route. Two weeks ago I started taking 10,000 milligrams of biotin and Nizoral shampoo every other day and also......i know....EMU OIL on my scalp twice a day..now I have 1/4 inch sprouts in the front of my scalp.  I think the emu oil might have some relevance....? Anyone else try this?

you're fighting over inches of soil whilst the B2 bombers of genetics rain fire down upon you.

an honorable journey that will one day end, late sunday night, with that first shaved dome in the bathroom sink at 1am, having taken movie selfies with adequate light and realizing buzzed > thinning.

may your follicles enjoy their remaining time.  The good news is, if you can truly embrace it and give no fcks, the attitude will permeate to many areas of your life and you'll be more successful without hair, than with.

I'm not going down with the ship just yet...my brother and father have thick wavy hair.  In my band days my hair was down my back which  sure didn't help....not ready to be called "chrome dome" just yet. If this don't work fuck it.

minoxidil is a vasodilator of sorts

it cant affect libido

I nearly hit one up North Queensland a couple of weeks ago, would've chucked it in the back of the car and thrown it on the BBQ if I had.

Thanks.....i watched about 30 videos on you tube most of them had regrowth. It's supposed to be rubbed into your skin to open up the pores blocked by sebum...mostly all your shampoos n conditioners are bad for your hair. I use Nizoral because they say it has the same effect ( not as strong) as Rogaine...n the Vitamin Shoppe sells the Emu oil for 13 dollars....we shall see ;)

I never tried fin because of the libido shut down ..and they say it doesn't work on the front of the scalp which is where I'm losing it...i still have frontal hair just the edges r creeping up.

Fin isn't recommended for the front of the scalp but it does work.  The original studies were done on the crown and by law manufacturers can't claim effectiveness for any other area of the scalp other than the crown.

I've been using Minoxidil 5% liquid for three months on the front of my hairline and already have great results.

There have been no side-effects at all in terms of libido or any other side-effects.

I know they say it's safer but some say it absorbs into your skin hence getting into ur bloodstream. ..who knows if this doesn't work I will try that route ( I still got 2 bottles left in the closet)...n maybe a derma roller.

If it does get absorbed, I think it must be a very low amount. And perhaps those getting sides are using high amounts twice daily all over their scalp.

I don't notice any extra hair growth on my body and no sexual side effects at all.

However, I think Rogaine foam might have higher chances of side-effects for some reason compared to the liquid.
