My mate's 8 year old brother (when I was 19) could do a proper J turn in a car but that is fairly ridonculous.

My son would if his mom didn't buy him popcorn chicken ::)
Kid never asks for food yet his mom stuffs him and I have to virtually assault my mom to stop her spoiling him.

I have an 8 year old boy, he went and grabbed an electric guitar I gave him a while back and tried to play it. Still not as cool as the video kid.

She would be reaching for the freezer to give him magnums (ice cream covered in chocolate) etc... if he doesn't ask for it, he doesn't want it or need it, that's my view. I'm just fucking lumbered by the fact that I have access and guardianship but that means fuck all here - if I kick up a fuss she can say I can't see him and police do fuck all.
My personal stance is give your kid values, educate them but let them make their own mistakes, constantly strive to make them more independent and grown up and be there to lead them to adulthood. Not to keep them a child and spoil them forever which seems to be the way in western countries nowadays.

They just need to learn, in stages, what they do matters. Also, that they need to take care of themselves. Ask most kids now to go to the shop for milk and they will look at you like you're asking them to form a unified theory of physics.
