Oh my god! A pro pushing a supplement line for monetary gain!!!! Oh noes!
No shit. This is how he puts Bentlys in his garage puts food on the table.
In all serious now....
How can someone successfully diet on that much food?
t3/clen arent THAT effective. And phil only weighs around 250 I think.

It doesn't look like too much to me considering his mass. My guess is he probably tapers carbs or cycles them, everyone responds different to diets though so it's hard to say.

Pros posted "prep" diets are always like this where they're eating 2500 kcal of meat alone every day.
Who knows what they really eat.
Ronnie didn't seem to eat that much in his vids.

yes, well Mike Chang eats well over 4k calories a day. And keeps his "6 pack abs"

Phil's diet is so spot on there is only a very narrow margin of error. ;)

No way is he eating all that food and getting in the condition he does.

This
I cant believe that prick is still here, he has no shame.

These articles are a joke and not just for the ad placement. A smart competitors diet changes on a weekly, sometimes daily bases as they grow into the show.

That's the one you don't give up!!
So far its the secret formula that works better then all the other ones !

Seems like he would get fat on just half that food.
-
Seems like he would get fat on just half that food.
How fat he gets boils down to his insulin sensitivity. Everyone's varies, article is bs but that doesn't mean that's too much food for him.

How fat he gets depends on how many cals over maintainance he takes in.
-
Phil and FLEX, two utter chronic lying bs products in a perfect match. Phil's physique is 99% drugs, nutrition plays a very small role in how he looks. Modern bodybuilding is a complete scam.
-
he's a well of crude snake oil
-

His insulin sensitivity is what creates those numbers in terms of fat gain and loss

dont tell me this is another thread of a) what he didnt say he used steroids b) supplements is a waste of money c) phil heath isnt very wide
didnt see that coming ::)
-
what a joke....as if he eats that much pre-contest....lmfao!!!! and LOL at all the little nuthuggers who will line up to waste their money on his useless supplements...
-
LOL
This fucking guy never ate like that a day in his life-
All drugs-

Ruhl always told that so cool at his seminars. Immedeately after the contest they do all the photoshoots that the mags have their material for the entire year. And a couple of months later he sees himself on the cover of Flex magazine, skips through it and thinks "hmmm, that's my training plan? interesting, never ever done that exercise.....That's my meal plan? Wow, I don't even like fish...". They print their stupid shit without even talking to the atheltes...
-
x2 me and phil weighs the same and I only eat 3 meals daily.
No you don't.
-
Those supp names. That trolling.
Too bad as soon as he gets on TV first question is gonna be biogenesis and steroids :)
Attempting to take on a multimillion dollar muscle tech with your subpar startup support company.
::)
-
Damn Phil,
Now you let the secret out and the whole world will know!!!
Now there will be hundreds competing for this years Olympia...damn!
-
Didn't Gifted Nutrition supplements just come out? Has he not been preparing for the Olympia for a number of months?
The timeline seems off.
Not really. Just because it was just released to the public doesn't mean there wasn't a finished product for Heath. Some products are often used by bodybuilders long before the masses get it.
The late Greg Kovacs used an unflavored version of Meso-Tech before the flavored versions hit the stores. By his own admission, it tasted horrible but he used it anyway, as he only used 4 packs of Meso-Tech vs. 8 packs of Met-Rx.

Im guessing Tristen is relatively well informed, friend.

daily, that's 15 scoops and 2 pills? A total of 17 servings.
Awesome discipline right there.

Pretty sure BFG gave plenty of cycles that Olympians have done. Now it would be too bad if that were to find its way onto Facebook by some troll.
;D

It's impressive what these athletes go through.

no doubt about that. but none of the top 5 grows into the olympia stage
-
i would consider using his products but at this time im sticking with ronnie colemans.
-
Growtein shits on regular protein.
-

Shh you can ruin it for those living the dream. Free supps once a month and no money ::)
At least Phil is making some cash but posting this here gets him laughed at. A detective going in his house could possibly get a promotion this close to this big a contest though. Now of course no one would take anything written on this site seriously especially when it's for entertainment purposes only
-
no doubt about that. but none of the top 5 grows into the olympia stage
You mean other than Phil right...of course we know that "growth" is not due to extra protein shakes and upping the chicken breasts and switching to red meat.
-
because IFBB pros nowadays grow into their shows right? ::)
Yeah, they actually do. Phil is the perfect example. He's gained muscle while dieting before, that doesn't mean he shows up on stage heavier. He's a master at manipulating his insulin levels for growth even when in calorie deficit.
-
Must spend half his day on the bowl, pyramiding....

A turd is yesterdays food that your body didnt need.
-

Personally, I find it insulting to call bodybuilders "athletes". Because what they do goes so far BEYOND what athletes in other sports do.
Look at the NBA... those "athlete" play 3-4 games a week. A game is only 48 minutes, and they might only play 20 to 30 minutes of it. So outside of maybe 120 minutes a week of actual "play" on the court, their life consists of smoking pot, banging hot girls in every town, blowing tens of thousands of thousands of dollars on frivolous shit, etc.
Bodybuilders, on the other hand, live a rigorous 24/7 lifestyle. They consume 15 to 17 scoops a day of various products. The respond to fan mail 2-3 hours a day. They volunteer at animal shelters and work on masters level classes too. All while investing heavily in the stock market and real estate.
I'd say "HERO" is a word that is much more fitting than "athlete". They're heroes.
-
It's funny if u watch Generation Iron NONE of the pros are drinking protein shakes... ???
-
These guys eat a lot .... Damn

Great points all.
Just look at that tit LeBron for example. He recently LOST weight. That's not an athlete.
-
Phil holding his own against these two tubs of snake powder ;D
-
I started taking HMB in 1995. It still feels like deca, but I guess it time to switch and get me some Growtein!... maybe it will feel like D-bol.
-
So if Kai beats Phil this year, or anyone beats Phil this year, it means that Phil's supplements are garbage and hurt his physique. Gifted nutrition needs an Olympia win this year or forums are going to roast him...
-

What's your PCT brah?
-

Phil very much does grow into his show. So did Levrone, and he finished top 5 plenty of times
-
What's your PCT brah?
Lucky Charms, Ben & Jerry's ice cream and In-N-Out... it blows Nolvadex, Clomid and HCG out of the water.
-
Great points all.

Lebron, an athlete? LOL that's hilarious.
Dude eats PALEO.... I mean, he's eating with DINOSAURS eat, while today's top bodybuilders are eating what SUPERHEROES eat. That is the difference. LeBron is eating vegetables and lean meat and fruit... totally senseless.
I don't want to rip on LeBron, he grew up in Spring Hill projects right up the street from me and went to the same high school as me, but we did see his team get nearly swept by the Spurs... and we see Phil going for Olympia #5 this year, if I recall correctly? Results do the talking.

HAHAHAHA
Those "advance sample testing batches" from MuscleTech weren't even in existence. It was all a big ruse from its sheister owner, Paul Gardiner. Kovacs went along with all the horseshit because he was buds with Paul ... oh, and being paid lotsa dough, of course.
It's amazing to think how outrageously wealthy Paul and his yes-men have become considering the company was founded on OUTRIGHT LIES AND BULLSHIT.
This world and its rulers (humans) are fucked.

I think he became wealthy because his wares (particularly the original Hydroxycut, Anotesten, Nortesten, Cell-Tech and Meso-Tech) from the mid/late 90s and early 2000s actually worked. I used them firsthand and can testify to that.
The point is that supplements are often avaiable to bodybuilders before the public-at-large gets them. I remember back in '89 when small gyms and nutrition stores started giving out small samples of Hot Stuff, before it became commerically available. Local Florida bodybuilders were already using it.

And I can testify that Paul used MY office and MY computer (after hours, because Bob gave him his OK to do so) at MuscleMag to write all those initial ads ... and that he purposely got fat (and stopped the gas) for his first print ads and then immediately got back to lifting and using for the "afters". And that there was NO product of ANY kind when all those ads first appeared and when the gossip pieces about amazing mystery supplements from some hush-hush Canadian research company were being developed.
And that Paul had the name, labels and ad copy completed and up and running long before he had even settled on which of the primary ingredient suppliers he was gonna use to fill the tubs (which had already been secured, as well).
And that all he cared about was becoming wealthy and would endlessly laugh during lunch about how he was going to jip all the losers out of their money with his junk, using EAS and Bill Phillips as his template for marketing.
How I'd watch him stuff cotton into his cheeks, push out his gut and spray water mist onto himself for his photo shoots to look all depressed and shitty.
How there was not one bit of truth to MuscleTech being REMOTELY a legit company until well AFTER Paul began to pull in the bucks from all the ignorant fools who were salivating to get in on this new wonder supplement.
-

Yet had his "wonder supplements" not worked, he likely would have gone out of business (as several other companies had). I didn't try MuscleTech supplements based on Gardiner's before/after pics. I gave them a try based on my own research and word-of-mouth feedback.
And since they were effective, I kept using them especially when I could get them cheap (Cell-Tech's arrival made Creatine 6000-ES a virtual steal, and when I could get the 7-lb jugs of Cell-Tech for as little as $12, it made me quite the happy camper).

Yes. There were some great products before the government regulated the supplement industry.
Now, good shit is hard to find.

I still don't get why DHEA is allowed while the other prohormones are banned.
But, at least you can get nearly-expired supplements dirt cheap. Heck, that's how I procured most of MuscleTech's wares. ;D

Who said it has to be either/or?
-
FORTRESS is a good poster and was in the business 1stn hand he gets my respect for that, but he goes way out of his way to emphasize what we know about the industry ,some good and bad, some worked some didn't,of course marketing plays 100pct in what the general public will buy into.the original met rx was 80.00 for the 2 tubs and they lasted a total of 14 days :o,,mail ordered but they worked somewhat compared to some of the other stuff out there..
-
Who said it has to be either/or?
Good point, but I'm talking about bang for your bucks. In general, the supp world is shady business, things like protein, creatine & omegas excluded.
-

I remember those. Met-Rx Plus and Met-Rx Base, correct?
I remember when Met-Rx with HMB arrived in 1996 (Ronnie Coleman was with the company then, the year he really broke out as a pro bodybuilder). That mess was $75.
Met-Rx was always too lumpy to me; and, though it tasted fine, it was basically sludge if you didn't use at least a quart of water.
Of course, I found that one of the reasons so many pros were singing the praises of Met-Rx is that they were drinking it like Kool-Aid, 6-8 packs a day. Milos Sarcev went way overboard, claiming ot ingest a dozen of them (particularly during his contest prep).
-

Indeed. That's why I wait for the price to drop before trying some of them, as I will with MuscleTech's latest set of goodies.
Some great-working (but AWFUL-TASTING) items that MuscleTech once had but have gone away are:
- GAKIC (powdered).....although it's now part of the newer Push 10 powder; it worked, but GOOD LORD!! It was VILE!!
- Anator P-70: Postworkout drink, with whey protein, over 7 grams of leucine, and simple carbs.
- Nitro-Tech (Cinnamon Chocolate Swirl and Orange Creme): Gave me a major headache and often made me sick. Even at $4 a jug, I had to say "No MAS!!"
- Cell-Tech (Orange): If they haven't discontinued it, THEY SHOULD. That kind was horrific; the rest were cool.
But a couple that they discontinued that were TERRIFIC:
Nitro-Tech RTDs (Grape and Fruit Punch): Those were the pure whey ones in the bottles, not the mixed protein in the cans that were just vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry.
Cell-Tech RTDs: They came up with some weird device in the can that kept the creatine and ALA dry, until you popped the top to disperse them into what was basically Kool-Aid (no Orange, just Friut Punch).
-

Let me tell you about the good ole days. I remember being able to go to the local supplement shop and buy something like Pinnacle's andro poppers. Then I would go to the gym and load up the leg press and go to town. People would actually stop to look at the weight I was pushing.
The pro hormones of the late 90's/early 2,000's were legit. I think they actually accelerated my hair loss, and gave me sore nipples. Them bitches were steroids. ;)

I have been in good shape before. Nothing to be confused with an enhanced bodybuilder, or a shredded natural who lives like a monk.

He claimed that if he didn't turn pro that year, he was going to hang it up (after his upset loss and subsequent temper tantrum the previous year).
Two other up-and-comers were coverboy Frank Sepe and TU champion, Chris Faildo.

I never took the pro hormone route myself, but I guess it's safe to say about their potential: "it's a fine line, if there is any". Pretty sad that many people harmed their health because they had the illusion that they were more safe than the real deal :-\

During the days of Pinnacle's Andro Poppers, I was employed by its owner, Mel Rich (dude's now dead). He financed a website for which I served as managing editor. I'd get Pinnacle supps for free by the truckload. For me, those Poppers did jack-all. I'd "pop" 'em at will and feel ZERO and derive ZERO benefit, from a physique or strength/performance standpoint.
Same with all that original MuscleTech crap.
Don't know what you guys are on about concerning this stuff.

Met-Rx also had the first Masters O, Robby Robinson and (at the risk of being flamed) Skip LaCour.
Oh, and how can I forget (before he lost his head and his Corvette and got thrown in the slammer) the late Paul "Quadzilla" Demayo

Well, you being a true natural, was there anything you used that you could say, OK, kinda doing something ... ?
You know what? I get a TINY bit of water retention from creatine, but it isn't worth the "cre-splats" I suffer for what essentially is a negligable bloat leverage while lifting.
Besides a multivitamin and perhaps an occassional protein/weight gain shake to (supplement) a missed meal (or to ingest easy additional calories), I can't say any of the supps I have used (and I have used gross amounts throughout the years, both bought and given) have done much of anything for me, in any way.
Let me correct this. I have used glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM (the cocktail of them all, so I can't say much about each, individually) with quite good results when trying to "tame" inflammation and general wear-and-tear injuries (though minor they might have been).
Just my two cents.
A stiff, black coffee before a lifting session is my best "supplement". Oh, and metal music.
P.S. And you're correct. I haven't had drugs to cloud my judgement.

YUCK!! I hate coffee. And, I can do without the Satan-worshipping metal stuff. Even worse than that is the "classic" rock.
Give me techno, house, and freestyle music (particularly from the late 80s and early/mid-90s) and I'm golden. One of my best workouts in my younger days when the gym was promoting their new step-aerobics class. but, they actually hired a live DJ to do the music, thus cutting off the PA system indoors.
It was an iron-pumping session for the ages for me. You know you'll barely be able to walk the next day; but you keep hangin' and bangin', becuase it's just too much fun. Throw in the occasional peek at the spandex-clad cuties and you couldn't go wrong.

Yeah, black coffee tastes disgusting. And this is another reason it works its magic with me. It's a unique taste that I have come to equate with lifting, so when I swill the Joe, I know I am ... ready to go (?). Look at me, all poetic and shit. Anyway, yeah ... The hard taste sets me up for the hard session. Just like my hard music choices.
By the way, not all metal is satan-worshipping. Actually, outside of a specific type of black metal, little of it is. Not that I am opposed to music that denies belief in a god and/or actively lyrically assaults religion, mind you. I love this kind, often, if it's a terrific band with badass musicianship/technicality.
I like my music like I train: with deadly precision and intensity.
You and I do not run on the same fuel, it would seem. (P.S. If any gym in which I lifted had some DJ plying his trade, I'd no longer visit the establishment. Gotta keep the estrogen at bay.)

I know. I'm just ribbing you, as I do with Soul Crusher and his metal fetish. ;D

That was a one-time deal. But, he was playing the tunes I loved and, since it was THREE TIMES louder than what would normally be coming from the regular speaker system, needless to say that I was hyped.
Besides, the "estrogen" was at bay. The ladies were, for the most part, in the glass aerobic room. But with the parallel bars right in front of the aerobics class, one can't help but take a peak at the bouncing behinds......after a set of weighted dips, of course.
