Title: The 35 pound plate
Post by: Never1AShow on November 02, 2014, 02:57:36 PM
I've always thought the 35 pound plate was kind of the bastard stepchild of the weight room.  Its uses are mostly limited to when the hippos in the cardio rooms have stolen every ten pound plate in the gym for some mysterious ritual that still keeps them fat.

It not as bad as those 10 pound bumper plates that are the size of 45's.

I recently bought ten 35lb plates for my home gym. They are very useful on T-bar rows. Small diameter = increased range of motion.

I prefer them to the 45's.

How much do you do for t-bar rows?

.
Your t bars rows must be very weak if I put 35 pound plates on the t bar it would be useless you have the strength of a petite woman.

You don't really need them. But they do serve a purpose in some cases.

I never got the #35 or 15kg hate, it's a useful size especially in olympic lifting, and beats grabbing a #25 and a #10 or their kilo counterparts.

The people and plates I've soured on are the little micro plate goofs, scouring the net for the perfect .5 pound plate ::).

Those are helpful for those just starting out, especially women.

Why not a 15 pound plate also, at least then there'd be some symmetry, 5, 15, 25, 35,45.  Maybe it can be the a Bob Paris Symmetry beginners weight set.

I found them to be useful in using 2 per side on the e-z curl bar in lying French presses. It saves space on the bar.
