That's why he's Mr. O 8)
Don't see any other contenders willing to put the work in like Mr. Heath
-
Thought it looked pretty good. Not sure whats up with the pre teen attention whoring thru facebook clips at the gym. Odd behavior from adult men
-
I'm REALLY impressed about that. 5 PLATES! Wow! My hero :) G.O.A.T
-
So he uses five plates on a MACHINE. I'm drug-free and I can use five plates on a Hammer Strength machine, too.
I like how he makes a big deal about listening to Five Finger Death Punch (a band which features my high-school buddy, Jason Hook, on guitar), when in truth, it's a metal band for folks who don't know metal.
-
lol, ive seen fat high school kids do 3 plates on a hammer strength machine. and hes only doing 2 more plates per side than a 17 year old. lol
-
By far, the strongest Mr. Olympia ever. 8)
-
This guy's pathetic.
I have yet to see him do anything in a gym that is approximating "hardcore".
The title of Mr. O means jack-all when it's in the hands of a guy like Heath.
-
5 plates isn't impressive, but I commend him for not playing the ego game. He knows how to use drugs and how to train. Gotta tip my hat.
The only thing I will criticize is that while he sticks to his principals really well, he falls apart like a wet paper bag when anyone challenges him. I don't see how he can focus so hard on training and not deviating away from his game plan, but the second a kid on Facebook makes a snide remark he's got to write a novel to say he's not melting down lol ;D

By "put in the work" you mean go weight training once a day?
-
Great to see a real warrior doing battle in the arena

Kai, do you fuck any citrus other than grapefruit?
-
Still bragging about those 5 plates on that chest machine? Lol...
-
there's very few lifts one can brag about that are universal and plate loaded hammer strength chest presses isnt one of them.
but hey, he got a great pump with 5 plates (much different i assume from doing 4 plates) ??? ::)
-
One thing I have to say, Kai's chest is thicker, and I believe he uses barbell bench press as well as dumbbells.
He does have a certain thickness to his muscles...
-
kai is thicker everywhere

WOW.
-
I still cannot get over how lame this brag is from Heath.
Let's see him bench press (WITH A BAR) four plates for a solid six-10 reps, then I will be modestly impressed. Modestly.
If I was on the shit Phil's on, I'd be smashing four plates on bench press for hyper-tight sets of eight, for frick sakes.
-
kai is thicker everywhere
For the most part yeah.
For Phil and Kai to "make up" I suggest they train together, again.
This time for a whole week. Alternating days. First day is Chest, and Kai will take Phil through a chest day. 2nd day, arms, and Phil takes Kai through an arm day. Third day legs, Kai takes Phil through. 4th day Delts, Phil takes Kai through. Last day is back, both Phil and Kai do a hybrid workout.
Notice that each day that the respective person takes that the other through is the bodypart that they are great in, and the body part that the other may not be a great in.

How can you not have good form on a machine? Tell him to put 5 plates on a bench or incline. ::)
-
kai is thicker everywhere
He definitely is, but he looks like a pregnant piece of striated shit. Phil's starting to lose a bit of his flow and conditioning too, but he still looks way better than Kai.
-
I cant believe he would even attempt that kind of lift without a spotter
-
I love it! 10X Mr Olympia. But how will he get a career ending injury, like Dorian, training on a machine? He won't!

Look, I like Heath. I think he's one of the best Olympia winners we've had (just my opinion) but do you really think training on a machine makes you immune to injury? lol
Being strong on a machine only means you're strong on a machine.

Being strong on a machine only means you're strong on a machine.
All that matters is how he looks on the day of the Olympia. How hardcore he trains, how strong he is, how much he can bench are all irrelevant. Not getting injured is probably high on Phil's priorities as well.

He did have a minor injury on the leg curl machine back in 2006.

He's delusional. I'd like to see him acting like this during a prime RC chest workout in Metroflex and get laughed off the property.
Its sad that this is the new standard. But hey his teenage fan base really don't have a clue about bodybuilding or lifting so he's pretty much got them all thinking he's impressive and 'hardcore' when really, we could name off 20 bodybuilders from the past or recent years who absolutely embarrass him.
If Bertil Fox were around today i'm sure he'd be VERY outspoken on this guy and his teenaged antics.

He does have a certain thickness to his muscles...
When it comes to sheer muscularity Kai is the most developed guy in the planet. The guy inclines 5 plates and they aren't slow reps either
-
I bet when someone asks him how much he bench's, he says "well, I do 5 plates for reps like nothing". Leaving naive' people to think he means free weight bench press...
-
when i saw the post i thought i was gonna see phil using 5 plates a side on the bench press in perfect form,or inclining 5 plates for perfect form ect,BUT HAMMER STRENGTH? WOW THAT WAS MISLEADING ??? like someone above said, thats very common now even in high school workout rooms never mind hardcore gyms

Sorry, I did'nt mean to be misleading. I just posted his quote, his exact words, "Now I know people wanna be the "form police" on us Pros so hopefully you can see how I kept good tension and ROM getting a great pump. "
Phil is proud.
-
5 plates isn;t that light on that incline hammer strength, fuck I couldn't do what Phil did. I know alot of pros are way stronger then Phil but this is bodybuilding it isn;t about how much you can bench or lift it's how much you look like you can bench or lift. I know a 22 year old kid who is way leaner right now then Phil is in that picture and he crushes 5 plates plus a 10 on each side for a even 505lbs and he gets at least 2 reps clean.when he goes down to 4 plates he can get 8 clean reps.
This NPC kid in florida Joel thomas I think his name is benches like 640lbs for 1 rep and Ive seen video of him inclining 5 plates on the incline bench. But at the end like I said it is all about how strong you look not how strong you actually are.
-
But at the end like I said it is all about how strong you look not how strong you actually are.
It's also about how one interacts with the fans. From everything I've heard, Phil Heath is a class act that treats the fans with tons of love and respect.
-
This kid joel Thomas is way stronger then Phil heath! you can see him bench 630 flat on youtube. He looks way better dieted down but he is one thick guy!
