Title: Pushups and Diet.. 2 tips from an ex wanna-be BB (me)
Post by: tbombz on December 10, 2014, 02:09:20 PM
- if you are like me, and your chest doesnt grow very well, then try doing pushups. my chest never grew no matter what i did, i benched 430, i ate tons of protein, i took  more steroids than you can imagine.. chest didnt grow. But now I just do pushups.. no drugs, no food, no other workouts.. just pushups. and my chest is actually lifting up and growing a bit thicker.

- try eating less. one thing i have come to find out... the human body does not need much food. i wish i would have known this back when i was killing myself to look good. If any of you are fatter than you want to be, but having a tough time taking off the extra pounds.. try eating less. much less.

Actually some wisdom in this post. I have been finishing chest with two sets of push ups and it's been a dramatic change. Yes, in the US we eat to much food.  Guys are walking thinking they are big but they are just fat.  I blame the NFL for this in the US. A guy will see a 5'10" 210 running back who is pure muscle and say I'm the same height and weight. Except the permabulker is 210lbs of fat and would lean out at 175lbs. Most guys would be shocked how little they weigh if they got ripped.

Absolutely shocked!  I believe that if you've never been super lean its hard to estimate how much fat you're actually carrying

i do agree to a point with boyer, only problem is he uses the word MAXIMIUM which is abit pushing it,usually great dippers have that overly developed lower pecs that make a chest almost look like man boobs, some inclining is mandatory imo

From what I've red, he used to sell his ass to guys who like to PIITB. Later on he turned to Jesus (that fella was surrounded explicitly by guys too, btw) and I think he's kind of battling his homosexuality by using prayers currently, being supported financially by an afroamerican female.

Thanks guys, did a search and I feel dirty after reading somethings here and there   :-[

FF,
Also from all that reading, I hope you've had bloodwork done since then....

Leatherneck,
Just discovered him down here before summer this year. Fun show and I can tell he really loves what he does. Was surprised to see how old he is and still going after serious heart attacks and surgeries.

Thing is, he's right.  Eat less so you can see the lower chest, and do around 800+ plus pushups per week and you should see improvement.  Of course, you could probably do the same thing with weights.

Evan Centopani also likes to finish with push ups. Training hard & smart should be the goal, but you're born with great genetics or not.

True, Evan's chest may never grow.
I don't know how he started out, but he is more arm centric than anything. Maybe that is a reason. His triceps have taken the work out of chest movement. I think Lee Priesr had said something like that awhile ago. And look at Lee's chest.

And he's shoulder dominant as well. I remember a vid where Evan told that he was aware of that, so he did some pre exhaustion work (iso work, followed by pushing work). His chest has improved during the last 5 years, but there's only so much you can do about it, esp after many years of training.

Repulsive, should melt his own face in hope of a face transplant then keep his fingers crossed the transplanted one is an improvement, which shouldn't be too hard considering.

yes i shoulda pointed that out as it can really tax the delts if done sloppy or to heavy,i also use about half the weight i would use on reguler flat bench. its a movement thats meant to be done very smooth and controlled,if done any other way your delts might be trashed in a bad way

You have many people in the iron game who feel misunderstood. I'm sure he had a good understanding about training & nutrition and a strong will power as well, but again, you're born with a certain set of DNA.
He did a good job with Mohamed Makkawy, who defeated many guys bigger than him.

Yes he did, Vince was not the only Guy involved in Makkawys success. Ken Wheeler was also a big influence.
