Grammy's have always ignored Rock anything heavy or metalish.

This would be very safe to say.  Kids today listen to electronic and rap.  Rap is the worst thing to happen to society, since breast implants.
We were all hoping rap would be a phase...but society's sheep mentality wouldn't let this happen.  Nothing worse than a bunch of white suburban kids "identifying" with Snoop Dog.
20+ years and going strong.  It's just a sign of the times.  Idiocy is on the rise...careful out there.

Dance music is slightly better, but when LMFAO is an "artist", we all need to reevaluate the term.

And then there are your "pop divas".  Don't get me started here.  Hearing Christine Aguilera belt out obnoxious vocal runs every verse, if like listing to finger nails being slowly pulled across the blackboard.

Think about how little most know about music, then you understand why it's so easy to make KISS appear like a good band.

Rock died when playing instruments or the ability to sing isn't necessary to have a hit song making money. I think many young people if they heard live music  would think something is wrong because it doesn't sound like an engineered recording. I can't believe people pay to hear a concert 85% lip synced with canned instruments playing while a few musicians pretend to play.

As far as Annie Lennox goes she wasn't that big back in the day and she had one big hit and a couple of minor ones. Is this the best they can do for a "legend."  Every music award show brings her out every year like a returning princess when she couldn't sell out a 5K seat venue in the States.

When video games like guitar hero became big  so many young guys  picked up a real guitar. I thought it would be the return of real bands but I haven't seen it. The only real bands that are current now are some country bands where the most of the singing is live and musicians actually play. I might stick with jazz where the horns and the rest are real musicians playing right in front of me.  They actually had a concert by me where  they charged a big buck to hear a guy play the most awful garbage off his lap top. They said he was so talented. WTF?

Eurythmics were huge in the 80's (like, 75 million records sold huge), and Annie Lennox had/has a solid solo career.

Rock music is a bit of problem for the music industry, as it generally needs the members to play these complex things called instruments, like guitairs and drums.

The music industry, being an industry and manufacturing things, doesnt want to slow down production by heaving to deal with people playing instruments, or bands hiding away for months as they contemplate their next album, we have computers to do that.

Its much harder to produce a rock band than it is to get a bimbo like Katy Perry and the music industry equivalent to Vince Russo to churn out formulaic stuff each week.

I just laugh at the people who rely on them and achieve zero without them.  You know, the guy who is 240lbs and does overhead presses with 50lbs dumbells...then tells others he's going high reps and focuses on the mind muscle connection...you know...pussies.

But why train heavy weights if your goal is to look good and build a great physique? Makes no sense. Seems u the one insecure having to lift heavy weights just so u can tell yourself what a beast u are when u go to sleep at night
