Safe to say that Rock music is dead.
« on: February 09, 2015, 09:23:23 AM »
Was looking at the grammy winners.  Seriously.  Is this the best the Rock world can do?  Tom petty? Is he still alive?  isn't Beck a pop DJ?  Sad shit man.  Will just continue listinening to Sirius XM Hair nation for my Rock fix.

Best Rock Album
Beck, Morning Phase (WINNER)
Ryan Adams, Ryan Adams
The Black Keys, Turn Blue
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Hypnotic Eye
U2, Songs of Innocence

Grammy's have always ignored Rock anything heavy or metalish.

Hair Nation for a rock fix? Are you still killing the ozone with Aqua Net, too?

Tom Petty still kills it live.

This would be very safe to say.  Kids today listen to electronic and rap.  Rap is the worst thing to happen to society, since breast implants.
We were all hoping rap would be a phase...but society's sheep mentality wouldn't let this happen.  Nothing worse than a bunch of white suburban kids "identifying" with Snoop Dog.
20+ years and going strong.  It's just a sign of the times.  Idiocy is on the rise...careful out there.

Dance music is slightly better, but when LMFAO is an "artist", we all need to reevaluate the term.

And then there are your "pop divas".  Don't get me started here.  Hearing Christine Aguilera belt out obnoxious vocal runs every verse, if like listing to finger nails being slowly pulled across the blackboard.

Think about how little most know about music, then you understand why it's so easy to make KISS appear like a good band.

Yes and Octane.

U2 is not Rock, but more like Pop with a guitar.  Ryan Adams?  Like Brian Adams?
