-
Brown rice and fish.
-
Chicken breast with potato over rice with a good hot sauce handy. Can't do canned tuna much anymore, I'd rather just go with a protein shake over that in most cases.
-
Boiled chicken breast with boiled vegetables. Lazy mans food, just need two pots filled with water, and leave it on while watching an episode of w/e. Minimal work and very easy. No seasoning, no sauce just bland taste which makes it easier to not grow bored of.
Eating it every day for lunch since a couple of months ago. Really cheap and satisfying food.
-
Pecan Pie or whatever Ice Cream I make.

The avocado surprisingly mellows out the flavor of the tuna.

What makes turkey and eggs "bodybuilding food"? gh15 seemed to eat sushi everyday. Is that bodybuilding food? What food is considered not bodybuilding food?

I'd sure like to see what kind of physiques these guys have built eating this "bodybuilding food". I've seen what TA has accomplished with his pastries and right now he's leading the pack both in physique and quality of life.
I wonder how many people really look at themselves objectively and wonder if it's worth what they put themselves through and how much of a difference it would make if they just ate somewhat normally.
I was at a Christmas dinner and this tool actually brought his own food in a tupperware container. He said that he was a bodybuilder.
Good thing he told us that because none of us would have guessed it. Meanwhile another guest who plays college ball and is a pretty jacked and it was obvious he hit the weight room was gorging on the cake and ice-cream.

-aj- is in good shape, so he's not a good example, but I totally get the point.
Unless they're dieting for a contest or something, the whole bring your own food thing is silly. One meal at a party isn't going to do shit.

You didn't throat-punch the tool who brought his own food?

I could be in better shape, that's for sure.
But in my defense, I NEVER refuse a good meal. For me, when I bring up shit like the melange above, its when I am home, alone on a weekend and need something solid on my stomach. I would never bring that trash to a Thanksgiving dinner. Life is too short for that noise.
My wife makes good, high-protein, low(er) carb food. She made a ripping chicken parmesan with a coating of almond flour/coconut flour and as God is my witness, you could not tell the difference between that and a regular chicken parm. Ate it just like that, with lots of cheese.
I am never going to be <10% at my age. I will probably never get my lower abs into the shape that I want them to be, and I am OK with that. Better that then to be a social pariah.

I'm sure you could get sub 10% if you were offered 10 grand for a photo shoot.
The point is: what's the point of torturing yourself trying to get a dry six pack? For what? Maybe if you're still a kid going on spring break hoping to get laid. Weight training, good nutrition and a healthy life style is suppose to enhance your quality of life not make you miserable. TA has it right and I wish I could be his neighbor. We'd argue all the time over religion and politics but it will always be in good spirits when done over a good meal. And I love desserts. My idea of splurging is stopping by Foodland after working late and buying their discounted glazed donuts at $3.50/dozen. I could only imagine what life would be like hanging with TA. And maybe I'd finally learn to cook.
At least he keeps in good shape and tries to enjoy life.
Unless you make your living with your physique bringing your "bodybuilding food" in a tupperware container to a social event is just pathetic and shows a very distorted value system.
Bodybuilding/weight training can really be a wonderful thing and I believe it is the best method to maintain over all health and functional ability. But there sure is a dark side to it. Seems more so than other "healthy" activities with the exception of Cross Fit and it's various clones.
-
eggwhites and oatmeal
SOMETIMES I GRIND UP OATS'UNCOOKED WITH WHITES OR EGG BEATER AND BANANA'COOK IT INTO PANCAKE .
-
Rice, thuna, eggs, potatoes, a bit of cheese and 3 spoons of olive oil, all mixed up. It tastes good.
-
Eggs.

Eggs can most certainly be beaten.

From a simple question to you writing multiple paragraphs.....what a suprise ::)

I wouldn't go to a social event and eat this stuff, I'm talking about after the gym and for lunch at work, when I'm at home by myself. Other than that i eat whatever my wife makes for dinner, although over the last couple years I have convinced her to cook a lot more healthy. A few years ago I just ate anything and didn't even think about it, I got fat, had high blood pressure, and high cholesterol and just felt like shit so for me I need to eat healthy. Also my wife is native American and likes to make Indian fry bread, that shit is good but will blow you up fast if your not careful
-
Cottage cheese (onion and chive) with rice cakes.
-
eggwhites and oatmeal
Why eat this shit when you can just grill a nice piece of beef or chicken? I never understood the whole egg white thing. That stupid mentality that eggs are for breakfast only. You're a bodybuilder. Anytime is a good time for chicken and beef. My favor breakfast food is smoked salmon.
-
Eggs....can of sardines...which is 21 protein and 15 fat from the olive oil + Omega 3's from the sardines.

Smoked salmon with a side of scrambled eggs, greens and fruit is mine.
It's just not cost effective - i buy 12 oz for $10 at Costco, and even if I buy two, me and my son end up killing it in a week.

When I'm not dieting I buy NY Everything bagels, toast them, some cream cheese, capers, smoked salmon and thinly sliced red onion. Seriously best meal in the world. When dieting I slice cucumbers lengthwise to replace the bagel and get light cream cheese. Still a great meal.
This with the soft boiled eggs looks insane. Need one now.

How's your mercury poisoning doing? I used to eat canned tuna all the time. Must explain a lot about my brain melting.
This tuna looks good. Want to try the tuna fillets in the jar.

I tried some tuna jerky a few months ago. Dried like beef jerky. It wasn't as tough, but tasted like a salt-lick. Ugh.

Dried fish is so salted it's disgusting. Even regular jerkey is but if you know people that make it, they can tweak the salt levels. This one guy at my old office made his own jerkey. I asked him to make a batch less slated, was amazing.

Dried fish is what I imagine whore-pussy tastes like.

Boil potatoes sautee onions put in frying pan with olive oil mash it up crack a few eggs over it mix it up and use lots of paprika. Absolutely delicious! Eggs and potatoes. My dad cooked this for me a lot growing up I was burning so many calories being a 3 sport athlete.
-
porridge oats, egg whites, whey isolate and stevia if the protein is really bland.
easy to bash together and filling as fuck, good if you tend to binge horribly, a big serving of the above will sit in your stomach like lead as it expands in your gut.

Maxy Wayze!

My mom used to always add sauteed onions in lots of oil to mashed potatoes. Fucking loved it.

I squeezed in some lemon to help keep the avacado green and to give the tuna some zing.

The hard part is making sure that you have good ripe avocados about. Frequently, mine are either too hard or "over the edge".

TA can be a guy at times (no offense) but you gotta respect his (alternative dieting) lifestyle

I just pick from my tree :-) The spoils of being in SoCal. It takes 3-4 weeks to ripen once picked. Avacadoes will only ripen once picked or drop.

Costco sells boxes of individual packs of pre made guac. Mix that with Tuna would be a good option and you get the extra spices

Ah Foodland. The Poke is insane. That would be my go to. Spicy Ahi Poke. So fucking good. Was in Kaui for two weeks and ate it every day, Was buying sushi quality tuna steaks for $5. Loved that place.

eggwhites and oatmeal
Whole eggs are better. This is the meal I eat before training... gives me tons of energy to train 1 1/2 hours, full blast.

I eat Poke 3-4 times a week. I've been working late for the last year and they cut the price 50% for the Poke. Get it for $5/lb. That's two meals for me.
Thing is, I don't like/trust raw fish so I just put it in a pan and it's done in 2 minutes. Throw over rice and mix vegs and I'm eating "bodybuild food".
