I thought he sucked as a QB?

Probably will be 3rd string QB

If I'm an Eagles fan I have to be asking what in the hell are we doing this offseason.

He brings a little humility to that shit organization. I wish him the best
-
Won't make the team.

Finally!!!

But dont you also have to be a good player to play for the NFL? Not just bring humility to the team?
I wonder if this is a way for the Eagles to be perceived as a "classy" team.

Its not the same Tebow from 2 years ago. He's been training like a mad dog and is much, much, much faster and more efficient than ever before along with packing on even more muscle.
He's not Brady or Favre but he's got more firepower than he used to
-
Tebow hasn't played in two years. How do you come back and play QB in the NFL?

He's been training with some NFL specialist. He practiced with the Eagles last month which is why he got the job because he got much better than he was. Even Terrell Owens is still training because.....you never know

By knowing he has the capabilities to take a team to playoffs like he did with Denver. Plus his work ethic is second to none.
-
He couldn't even make a team last year, much less complete a pass in 2012 with the Jets. I like him, I hope he does great, but him bringing Denver to the playoffs is a fluke story if there ever was one.
-
Finally!!!
PHI has a great track record with good decision-making :)
All kidding aside, if he learned to throw accurately and consistently, and gave up trying to bulldoze his way thru the line every time, then I think he could be okay at QB. Also work on faster and better decision making. I love his attitude, I just hope he doesn't try to make it all about himself on the field. Play in that system and see success.
PHI is smelling more and more desperate and gimmicky all the time, but who knows.

Yup
It's Tebow time.

Arm strength wasn't ever the issue; delivery and accuracy was/is. I'm excited he's getting another shot, I hope he makes the team, I'm sure Sanchez is having a good laugh but not as good as the one I'm having about Vincent insider info revealing Tebow packing on even MORE muscle. Rumor has it he's leaner than Brady Quinn with better symmetry than a young Jeff Hostletter.
I was told Jim Quinn measured his body fat at Golds Venice and the calipers read 0.0%!

thanks eagles, we needed that :D
-
;D i actually was hoping they would sign him as a utility type player much like the steelers used kordell stewart before they inserted him as a regular qb.
-
i'm just hoping that chip kelly doesn't decide to walk away at the 12 th hour saying in a press conference boy did i screw up, good luck, see ya.
-
Deacon Coach and Rev MOS said a prayer and it was answered. It's Tebow time
-
Accuracy and decision making.
He lacked both of those his entire NFL career. He had a good run in DEN with an incredible defense, the NFL refs on the side of teh story-of-the-year, and the fact nobody had tape on him. Once they learned "make him throw and he'll dump an INT every quarter" from Patriots in the playoffs, Tebow was neutralized entirely and was awful ever since.
IF he learned to throw and learned to faster process things at the line, he'll be a good QB. I love his winning drive. I am okay with "nobody is touching that fucking ball but me" phrase he gave us at DEN as long as he backed it up ;) Once getbiggers were celebrating a 4th quarter barely-win against scrubs in the last NYJ pre-season game, we all knew that was it.
I'm excited by this. It's the story of the day in a day when the NBA playoffs were actually pretty good over the weekend.

As a huge Eagles fan I am more concerned about Kelly's other moves this off-season. Tebow is the least of my worries, he will be it least third behind Sanchez.

If he makes the team. Barkley seems like a waste of a 4th rounder now.
The only other off season move that I'm not that happy about is getting Bradford with his knees and big contract. I can't see them getting Mariotta either. Would love it though. As you prob know there was a lot of rumours to trade up in the draft to get him, with names like Boykin and Kendricks and of course Bradford as trade bait. But that was with Cleveland, and there's no way Mariotta falls to #12.
Seems like we are stuck with Bradford, then Sanchez and Tebow :-X

Spoken like a true fan, the amount of 4th round picks that actually become contributors, let alone starting quarterbacks (Although in Barkley's case if he came out the year before there was talk of him being the first overall pick) is a 50/50 proposition at best. The whole Draft is a cap shoot, so many variables can determine a players success in the NFL. Grantland.com had an article that researched how teams fare in drafting and it concluded that their isn't that a great a difference between good teams and bad teams in terms of getting players who contribute (meaning no one team is better at evaluating talent over the long haul), the key was having more picks.
I'd be more concerned with all the proven talent Kelly has shipped out, but he knows the team and what he wants.
I'm a Lions fan and when our gm traded 4th and 5th round picks for Ngata fans were going nuts saying we gave up to much for a guy entering the final year of his contract, but when you contrast those picks with what we actually got out of them over the last 5 years getting a guy who will actually contribute isn't that bad of a deal.

Bradford scares me to death with those knees. Will Chip draft a receiver or Cornerback or Safety in the first round.

To point out the obvious he isn't a sit back pocket quarterback in the traditional sense. If he is used that way it will be a bust. He is a scrambling quarter back who has the option to pass or to run. If he is used in that capacity he will excel.

Jamarcus Russell has been training and is lean but no one gives a fuck

the eagles have 5 QBs now. 5 QBs does equal one decent one.

and all 5 are a waste of money.....I'm happy
here we go......here we go......

5 pieces of shit doesn't mean you have a gold bar. You just have a lot of shit.
-

That's the whole league though. QB is a premium position, there's 120 D1 colleges and despite the never ending cycle of fresh talent there's really only 10 elite qbs in the NFL (And that may be a generous number) and outside of Luck and Wilson they're all 10 year vets.
-
I don't even know where to start. If we don't get Mariotta then none of this makes any sense at all.
-

Probably a CB. Landon Coliins is the only safety that should be drafted in the first round, but he doesn't fit the scheme IMO. He's mostly an "in the box" safety and the Eagles like to have both safetys well rounded. They could go o-line or receiver depending on who's there at #20. With Chip anything is possible.
As long as he doesn't pick Armstead(DT/DE) in the first round- he's a duck of course.

TEBOW about to play 2 or 3 quarters in the Philly pre-season game!
starting at 1pm EST on the NFL network.
-
Every time I see an athlete pray before a game...i think...pray the shit out of that prayer and you'll be victorious and injury free. Usually the better prayers yield more championship teams.
Much like anyone getting award thanking the imaginary man...ridiculous.
-
Mighty Tebow/Groink currently with a perfect 4/4 day on passing.
May have a fumble as well.
-
tebow runs for td lives to see another day as a 4 th string eagle qb
-
tebow had a nice drive. then he remembered he didn't know how to pass or read offenses, and decided to just run around the backfield and lose 18 yards on each play.
it always takes about half a quarter for the defense to realize they can plan man coverage and come around his left side, and voila, they make him play hero ball, which worked in college, but not now.
Linebackers know the angles of pursuit and tebow doesn't know the angles of how to elude.
No smart coach will ever "base their system" on a player who can't hit a man being covered, who risks that much injury on a regular basis, who has to make every drive a series of near-misses and hero ball. That kinda shit gets WRs injured.
I hate barkley and want to punch his face because his coach is a 911 truther that disrespected a general to his face - but he's 100x the player that Tebow is.

tebow 1 rushing td. barkley looked sharp, int was a tipped ball...i can see the jets picking up barkley if he remains 3 rd string to take geno smith's spot...

I just watched the highlights on NFL . I want to see Bradford take some snaps, he didn't even play. That worries me.
