Bodybuilding is The Fountain of Youth
If done correctly, no doubt.

Very impressive.

Is that wes? He looks great.
No, that's one of his young protégés.

Bay likey! ;D

Yes this is one of wes's by-blows.

Could you ever see yourself settling down with an older man like that, Bay?

In my circle of friends, we have a four question test that we pose to one another whenever one of the guys is dating someone and wants to introduce him to our circle.
1. Is he smart?
2. Is he educated?
3. Does he come from a good family?
4. Is he age appropriate?
Clearly, this fellow would not pass the age appropriate test, but we have all flouted the rules or justified exceptions whenever we wanted to. For example, age difference matters less when both are older. Dating someone 30 years older than you when you are 20 would not fly. Doing it when you are 40 is less scandalous. I cannot honestly say that I would ever seek out a 79 year old... on the other hand, I have never seen one that looked like this before.
If he were smart, educated, came from a good family (they may be dead for all I know), and he were exceedingly charming... who knows? :D
-
I would really like to talk to old bodybuilders like this. Mainly to know how they have managed to abuse AAS for decades and still be alive and kicking (and still in the gym and still using AAS). This guy has been saucing for, what, more than 4 decades? That's a feat in itself

Art Peacock = bodybuilding legend.

What tier would that 80 year old be in? 1, 2 or 3?

You make a HUGE mistake to assume a guy like that had to abuse after a certain age.
But then again, some are just lucky and their bodies can handle the stuff.

"Abuse" ::)
Define it, better yet prove it.

Some peoples bodies can take years of abuse, others cant. His obviously can.

Before you start accusing "abuse" define it. It shows just how naive people are. Especially considering most train half as hard as this guy used to.

Be calm, when they grow older and become less stupid and more aware of things in life the circle will come to an end : )

This. OR he just has great genes and these with a smart training and using hormones translates to a result that we see.
-
One thing that probably helped him was that he never really played the mass game. He was always lighter, and more Zane like.

The trick is they dont abuse AAS.
There is a difference between use and abuse, sadly the bodybuilding mentality of more is better means people using ever increasing doses and doing themselves more harm than good.
Some of the most impressive (older) guys in the gyms i've trained at over the years just use a small to moderate dose and stay on most of the time....no cycling silly high amounts, no liver toxic orals, no massive cocktails of several different AAS's....most just pin 250-500mg of Test a week and leave it at that, they eat a good diet, train well...including other sports and get plenty of rest.
They must shake their collective heads when they see the idiot in the gym talking about pinning 1000mg Test, with 800mg Deca, with 600mg Equipoise per week...and 50mg Dianabol daily...with the assortment of anti-oestrogens that go hand in hand with a cycle like that....while deliberating on whether to throw Tren into the mix too...and looking like crap.
I've been using 500mg Test a week for years, come off from time to time (notably if going abroad) but otherwise i eat as healthily as i can, try to partake in other sports (squash, cycling, kick boxing etc), avoid alcohol if i can (social occasions get a pass obviously), dont use recreational drugs any more (i'm pushing 40 now, got to grow up sometime!) and i always get complimented on how healthy i look, always get told i look younger than i am etc.
AAS should be viewed like drugs or alcohol...fine when you're younger but dont go crazy....and as you get older use in moderation and combine with a healthy lifestyle and you should be fine.

it sounds like you will not be dating Melvin Goodrum in the near future.

Minus the heavy drug use.

Awesome!

You're such a fan of using steroids. I hope you live to be a 85 like my relative who smoked his whole life but isn't the odds against you with heart disease going on and off cycles as you approach your 50's? Do you worry about being arrested and charged with a felony?
-
Phenomenal hair on Zane in this pic [no homo].

Arrested for what? 1cc EOW of a prescribed test?

With regards to Peacock, the mistake the old school guys made was too much time in the sun. His face looks eighty. We east coast guys have an advantage in this area. During a large part of the year, it's too damn cold to hang out outside.

Will this bitter old loser shut up for once?
Is there anything more pathetic than an angry, bitter old man?
-
Before you start accusing "abuse" define it. It shows just how naive people are. Especially considering most train half as hard as this guy used to.
I guess I should clarify. My definition of "abuse" is based on the medical definition, which is any dose of testosterone above HRT doses, or the uses of anabolics for muscle building purposes in otherwise healthy individuals (not talking about people with muscle wasting diseases or whatever).
I'm not saying that he uses a lot of stuff. But he's using supraphysiological amounts of hormones, which can cause health effects over the long time even in mild to moderate doses.
I merely wanted to know his regimen and health protocol so that I could model my own protocol after it.

This is interesting. Do you think they used this low to moderate dose all the time? Or did they build their mass with blasts of higher doses and now just maintain?
-

Sometimes I have a habit of coming off a bit brazen so I apologize. Most automatically assume just because someone carries a fair amount of muscle mass or density they MUST be abusing AAS. In today's bodybuilding (pro's, Nationals competitors) I would say without a doubt. I have always said smaller doses over longer periods of time will have a greater retention of muscle mass even when coming off of that cycle. You can usually tell the bodybuilders that "blast" for a short period of time then come off, Levrone, Mustafa, Federov all come to mind. No more than 190-200lbs off cycle. To me the trauma (and it is trauma) by doing leads to a greater risk of health problems than someone taking less than a gram or even 1/2 of that over a longer period time.

Good post Joe and very true.

I can only tell from my personal experience. What I did manage to achieve with a few quite serious blasts I've been able to maintain with very little (compared) for a very long periods, even comming off here and there for some time.
-

These huge fluctuations in weight/doses is probably not the best thing one could do, that's for sure.

I competed on stage with Art over the years. He is as natural as the day he was born. He only weighs around 165...small dude.

its funny you say that. When I was a kid, I was in sunday school for years. We had a quiz once and they actually talked about suicide pacts. Oh, this was probably 28 or 30 years ago. We were taking a multiple-choice quiz on some topic, and the question was "Suicide pacts are..." and one of the options was actually C) romantic and beautiful.
For some reason, decades later, I still remember that answer. Who, in their right mind, types such a thing for a skinny twink 8 year old to read? Who even says, "let's make this an option"?

This is true.. Most people don't 'get it' until it's too late to do really do anything with it.. But none of us has the time to make all the mistakes; it would be a luxury to learn from someone who already has..
