I was bouncing this weekend, these four nugga thugs are inside and knock the tray out of one of our waitresses hands claiming it was an accident. So, we ask them to leave because they were really dissrespectful to her, of course they don't. So they start yapping at the front door, finally we just bulldoze the four of them out, me and my other doorman. They swung at my partner and missed. This other dude flanks to my side as I am focuing on the other three and my partner and "smack", take one into the mouth. My partner takes out his stroam (like pepper spray), and it busts, so hes trying to fix it and I have three of them coming towards me as I am spitting out blood. I take my stroam and we just empty out 2 cans on all of them. Moose comes from inside, and another, and he just starts pounding one of them, then the straom starts reacting and they are crying like babies and stumble to their cars and leave. So my bottom inner lip is split open pretty bad. Stitches are for pussies. I'll post a pic soon.
This isn't the first time I've been hit by thugs and they have one thing in common, they hit like biotches.
Why is it that gangster thugs are all about cheap shots? Why can't they just chest up man to man?

one of my traiing partners was bouncing on saturday when this douchebag walks in .... he walking around the club wearing a black wife beater and fucking black leather gloves .... he walks right up to my boy (who is a dangerous looking mofo) and takes a fighting stance and starts talking shit ... at first my friend ignored him but the guy wouldnt leave, so my buddy hit him in the liver and the dude stumbled over to the bar for 5 minutes while he regained his composure
then he came back and took the same fighting stance ;D

I don't think cheap shots are exclusive to gangster thugs...I think it happens when someone feels helpless and will do anything to save face (or their friends). I suppose especially in your work you come across it much more with the thugs that want to act tough.
I ended up getting in a fight because I was friends with a girls ex boyfriend. We were in the parking lotleaving a club and she jumps me...I was quite a bit stronger then her and had her on the ground when her friend comes up and kicks me in the face. Needless to say that put me out for a minute.
Thank god he didn't do more then bust up your lip, it could've been quite a bit worse. Sorry it happened, although it must have made the night more exciting. I'm sure eating since then has been a real pleasure...

I do see your point, but I have been bouncing for 2 years and have never taking a cheap shot from anyone other than a thug. Anybody else has been fair, lets throw down type deal. Not walking up like no big deal just wanna talk "smack" type situation.

Bouncing was my means of "tuition assistance" in college. A good thing to keep in mind is that when you escort patron(s) out, don't take yourself beyond the doorway. It always keeps your back covered. I always found though, that the easiest way to get an undesireable out was to pretend like I couldn't hear their backtalk over the music of the club, and ask them if we could continue the conversation outside where it was quieter. They'd walk themselves right out the door....

last time i got punched i was kit in the eye and it gave me a shiner. i don't think i was ever sucker punched. did you at least get in a few good "licks"?! when i got hit, i was in a go-go bar minding my own business, and some fat asshole came up to me and popped my in the eye, saying i was looking at him the wrong way, and i wasn't looking at him at all. 2 other guys were standig behind me buddy who was bigger, and they were making sure he didn't get involved. i was puny at the time, and drunk too. i aimed, hit the guy as hard as i coud in the stomach, and he douled over. the other 2 guys too off and the guy just said i wasn't worth the fight and he stumbled away. i guess i won this fight! ;) ya gotta stand up and defend yourself!

Bouncing? Are you sure thats the right word? In the UK bouncers do doorwork they don't do any bouncing... Well maybe sometimes after you throw them down the stairs... But apart from that our bouncers don't bounce.

I'm gonna play devils advocate here...
1) Other bouncers will become involved "and sh*t" the thug doesn't intend to hang around for this to happen. Particularly if he suspects that his "crew" are not "down".
2) The thug doesn't wish to become the latest "mother f"ckin" big name on closed circuit television. "You know what I'm sayin"
3) The thug isn't out to showboat he just wants to "straight up" knock you "the f**k" out (this makes him all the more difficult to deal with)...."Word"
4) The thug probably has a tight schedule, perhaps he has some dope to deal or a few "Hos" to pimp out later on in the evening, whatever it is you can be sure it's all "money" "baby". So it's understandable that he doesn't wish to spend too much time duking it out with a bouncer. "You know what I'm sayin"
5) If you get a good look at the thug you can put the word out and prevent him entering other pubs and clubs, perhaps the "mother fuckin" cops will even pick him up based on the discription.
6) Alot of bouncers go to work wearing various kinds of body armour but this is only "money" in a "fair" fight it doesn't "do sh*t" against the cheap shot. This is one more reason why the cheap shot is "money" and the thug knows it.
7) His "bitches" may start wailing hysterically and then proceed to "give him shit" for the rest of the evening for a drawn out fight (even though they may have been secretly turned on), the shorter the fight the quicker the "bitches" will forget it.
8) You were facing in the opposite direction!

I once got sucker punched by my best mate when we were at school. I don't know which was worse, the punch itself or turning around to retaliate and seeing my mate there. It turned out that he discovered that I had fucked a girl he'd been trying his luck with and he wasn't to pleased about it

I never worked the doors but I was a bouncer/steward for years . I worked in big nite clubs for years and my real job was to prevent riots and stop as many brawls as possible . In my experience the majority of guys on the doors on nite clubs are big fat lazy shitbags .
Most fights occur on the dancefloor / at the bar / next the DJ box and in the toilets . At the end of the night when all the punters have left we would trade stories . And guess what the doorman would say . Yeah next to bloody nothing because they did next to bloody nothing . If you're on the door and two tough guy trouble makers try to start a fight it is much easier to control as the doormen will out number them . Think of what happens when they two tough guy trouble makers get into the club and start a fight on a dancefloor . Now I might be right next to this so I have now got to jump in and sort out a fight between maybe 3-6 guys myself not knowing who started it and how many of their pals are waiting in the wings . Of course you should radio for help but when it happens right next to you the adrenaline kicks in and before you know it you are in the thick of it . At the back of your mind you know that the DJ or a barmaid or a glass collector will call for help . It can be scary but what a BUZZ !!!
In most nite clubs you will get 1 or 2 good fighters on the door . Generally big and mean looking guys with the ability to talk to the punters . The other doormen will just be there for show . Upstairs in the club it was different in the clubs I worked . Upstairs in the actual nite club there would have a higher percentage of tough shits not frightened to take a punch . Unless of course the club had hired an Agency where they put all the young tall boy bouncers upstairs because the older more experienced guys didn't want the agro . These poor boy bouncers would last as long as it took for them to get punched for the first time . That's why Clubs that hire in-house bouncers/stewards are always better to work in .
I have never been sucker punched but I did get caught off guard when I tried to break up a fight between 5-6 girls in the middle of the dance floor . The minute I separated the two wild cats ( one was heavily pregnant ) I got hit on the head with bottles from all angles . I turned round to see this fat bitch holding her bottle read to strike me again so I punched her right in the middle of her chest and knocked her on her fat arse . The rest of the girls froze at this point . I then grabbed the pregnant girl by the wrist just as the cavalry arrived . At was at this point that I saw that she was pregnant so I asked her what she was doing in our nite club in such a fragile condition and she said , " That's what that ugly bitch just said to me before I slapped her so you better watch your mouth or my boyfriend will shoot you . " I wonder if her boyfriend would have thanked me for saving her from getting a kicking before he shot me . I couldn't think of anything to say that she would have understood so I simply laughed .
That's why nite clubs are so dangerous . They are full of crazies like her .

I actually like to get punched first. It gets me really pissed off allot more. I have been blind-sided a couple times too. All it did was piss me off. I do remember when a guy actually hit me three times before I laid him out. This guy had sucker punched one of my firends so I had to go see what was up. My friends asked me why I let him hit me times and I said I was in shock he hit me. I looked at him and literally hit him once he went down I got on top of him and choked him out before he coud get up. I was training with Rorian back then and it was the first and only time I got to use Jiu-jitsu on somebody. Anyway I heard from some people he went in the restroom and he shit his pants. I think just about anyone who sucker punches someone is a pussy and a coward plus if he doesn't knock the guy out he is a weak pussy who can't hit either. I have never ever started a fight and never thrown the first punch. It takes allot for me to fight and getting hit usually does it.

I worked in clubs back in the 80's. Used to use the Jedi mind control and a sense of humour in addition to being big. Don't think I'd want to do it now with every wanna be packing a gun with him.
I remember one night when the WWF was in town and the wrestlers were staying in a hotel nearby and dropped in for a beer after the show. King Kong Bundy was there- Huge guy. But who really impressed me was Ted Dibase. He didn't lok that big on tv but in person his width was incredible. Good bunch of guys.

i've never been a bouncer but about 4 years ago i was at a club with a few friends. there was this fine hispanic chick dancing on one of the stages alone and she kept looking at me. i got a little closer and she waved for me to join her i guess but i knew guys weren't allowed to dance with women on the stages. well i walked up and she actually came down off the stage and asked me if i wanted to dance, kinda strange i thought. well we went out on the main floor and about a minute into it i felt some guy grab my shirt and before i could react he had me in a full nelson, i never saw it coming. then his friend punched me in the stomach twice and i took them pretty well. this BIG mofo bouncer came literally crashing through the crowd and jacked this guy in the eye with an elbow shot. he split the guys eye wide open and blood was everywhere. the other guy let me go and ran towards the door but they caught him and wrapped him up. the guy that got split open ended up going to jail for warrents after the cops ran his info. i ended up staying at the club and hooking up with the chick that night. the weird part is the girl didn't even know the guys and had no idea why they attacked me. i talked to the hero bouncer and he was a really cool guy and told the bartender to give me free drinks on him...pretty cool ending.

I always took it as a compliment when punters would leave at the end of the night saying things like , " That was a great night . I never even saw one fight . It's certainly not as bad a place as people say . "
As a bouncer we have got to snuff out problems with as little fuss as possible .
I have been involved in quite a few bar-room type brawls but in general fights occur between 2-4 punters . If possible I would grab the biggest trouble maker although sometimes it is best to grab the guy who is getting a beating just to protect him from further punishment . Once you get one of them in a tight hold you can then talk/shout to the others for CALM ! Bad bouncers will run in to a fight and start throwing punches . When the other punters see that they think that the bouncers are taking liberties and the next thing you have on your hands is a riot .
Hey JOHN MATRIX I am glad you don't get into fights but if you ain't getting a woman then move on to another club . Women like to brag about their latest man and to do that he has got to be a somebody . The sort of guy that the other girls know about . If you don't even get noticed then it is time to change clubs and technique . Sitting at the bar and supping a few drinks might work for Brad Pitt but the rest of us mere mortals have got to put in a bit more effort .
If you can fight/ take a hit / talk yourself out of trouble/ calm angry heads then become a bouncer . You will get plenty of offers my friend .

the thing is down here in florida we can not,fight unless we are hit
we cant even touch the people cause if you do the club can get sued.
I found out the bigger you are the more people want to fuck with you.
I am what my friends call a " SLEEPER " when something goes down at the club Im behind the seen,waiting.
we get alot of thugs and other dumb ass's but most of the time a fight breaks out and what sucks is the guys go after the bigger guys like over 6 feet and 300 sum pounds, so as things progress like i said Im behind the seen Im 5'11 190 lbs so when things start to happen they dont suspect me,but as soon as that first punch is thrown,I just split the guys head open cause there so focused on the big bouncer,
what makes things worse is we have to ware tuxidos.
yes I work in a strip club,and another fucking thing is some of the thug ass
monkeys are friends of some of the dancers and they take it personally and dont want to tip us like there suppose to do.
being a bouncer is fun but its also stupid we get paid to keep the club smooth
and running good but we get paid like were nobodys.
then the managers come and say good job you can have a beer after we close.

Getting sucker punched and teamed on sucks. Where I am from you can't have 1 on 1 fights anymore - you end up fighting the other guy, his brothers & cousins, their 'boys' and their girlfriends (who sometimes are tougher then the guys - you can take that anyway you want, but if you lived here, you'd understand). Thugs or no thugs - strength and toughness these days in my streets is shown by numbers and 'thug' mentality.
With night clubs though - you get good doormen and you get 'jerk' doormen. You don't sound the 'jerk',
The industry in nite club security is messy though - you get all types working security - you get professionals, street thugs, bodybuilders, big blokes, tall blokes, educated folk, thick idiots - the best people I have seen work however, are the ones who diffuse and handle a situation discretely and with the least amount of effort (with the exception of the few freakish situations)
A sucker punch is for pooftahs, but in that line of work you gotta be prepared for anything.

i saw the picture. it kinda look like someboday shot you in the forehead! (anyway, i know what the others mean when they say that no one seems to fight one on one anymore.)if they can't be "man" enough to handle their own fights, then why start with you to begin with, right? i mean, i can't really fight myself, but if i had to defend myself, i know i would find the "muscle" within me to do it. (but, i'm not and never have been the kind of guy that would just start a fight for no reason.) if the other guy is going to take a swing at me first, then i'd probably fight back. i was always taught that no one has the right to lay a hand on you for any reason! if they do, you fight back! i think it's just better to walk away when somebody threatens to start some "shit" with you.

I agree 100% with you. Getting sucker punched is cowardly and pathetic. Same with getting swarmed by 5-6 individuals. I always made sure, take one guy out of 'em all and fuck him up good! Break his leg, punch him in the throat, whatever but get one guy and get him good. By the time you get swarmed by this cowards who like to fight in packs, the bouncers will be in there to break it up. At least you fucked up one of them really badly and you'll look like a champ because they'll be carring his ass out while you walk out.
