Was totally bored yesterday, so I went to an early show.
Just another CGI shitfest. The Rock survives about ten 9.0 earthquakes, huge buildings falling down all around him, a helicopter crash, a huge tsunami and drowning. I don't think he even cut himself. The only thing good about the movie was the pretty daughter... sizable knockers in tight wet clothing, no nips were visible though. :(

Anabolic, I hate these kind of CGI flicks most of the time, but I thought that the earthquake scenes and the tsunami scene were done pretty damn well.
Especially that scene in which the ship destroys the GG Bridge.
The worst part of the whole damn movie was the 'love triangle' which messed it up a bit for me.
The most interesting part is that that disaster is an event that is definitely gonna happen. It's already too many years late.
Did the old man and his wife ever get reimbursed for the airplane that the Rock dumped into San Francisco Bay? That might be covered in SA 2.
I've worked on a couple of CGI movies and it really is amazing what those guys up in that dark booth can do with the footage while we simply act stupid and run around in front of a big green screen... or was it 'blue'?
If you're a movie fan, you might be interested that there has been a lot of big talk within the industry about "CRIMSOM PEAK" which is expected to be a major motion picture this year.
And some fans are still talking about Tom Cruise's next film in which he really hangs outside an airplane while it was in flight.
That scene alone will sell lots of tickets.

That one looks good. Love Mia Wasikowska. Great underrated actress.

Saw it yesterday too. Almost feel asleep twice. 'Murica

Cruise has always been big on stunts, he climbed the building in the last one. Crimson peak, hmm just another haunted house movie

The worst movie !!! Baad acting, awful computer graphic ...... Movie sux!!!

It would be interesting to hear what the people who live along the San Andreas faultily think of it.
That line runs from Mexico up though the 'center' of California and enters the Pacific within the vicinity of San Francisco.

You have to love how they stuff in these love storylines when the whole world is imploding they still manage to be selfish cocks and worry about their love stories.

Don't you want your money back? Your two hours back? Why would you part with cash to watch this? The trailer tells you all you need to know; it is a Netflix movie at best.

I did mention I was bored right? The movie theater is connected to the mall, I was there buying clothes and getting my haircut anyway.

No one is ever that bored. The movie house must have had half a dozen movies to choose from and you chose this one. Admit it: you are a fan of The Rock and/or these kinds of movies. It is OK. We are not judging you. ;D

Forget the bitch! Any close ups of the Rock's manly sweaty pecs while shirtless? :-*

I went out of boredom as well. A lady friend of mine phoned me up and asked me to go with her. Yeah why not eh? She even bought my ticket. I thought the effects were going to be on let's say... Transformers level. Was disappointed.
Another stupid thing throughout was that nobody in the world is that resourceful. Whatever the rock needs he finds in 2 seconds, and then knows exactly how to use it like a pro. haha.
the American flag at the end though.... lol 'Murica

James Bond would not be happy to hear that. ;D

I don't know, movies are about escape from reality. I go to see something that makes me laugh, cringe, and root for the underdog. This movie seems right up my alley, I am sure it's no Maltese Falcon or Deer Hunter. But I am sure I will be entertained. I am also inspired to see it because my friend from school wrote the story and was one of the screen writers for this film.

Avengers had better effects. Serious

kids today don't even look up when commercials for movies like this come on.
imagine when we're kids, 20-30 years ago.. a commercial comes on and we see entire cities ripped apart in HD...
today's youths see better graphics on video game startup sequences.

Looking forward to this, stunt. Del Toro has some imagination - amazing job with Pan's Labyrinth and Devil's Backbone. Interested to see what he comes up with here.

It was too blurry when it was heavy CGI fights.

I noticed that too. Also, at certain times, too many things going on at once.
-
Family members are heavily involved in the production of these kind of 'visual effect' flicks and just yesterday we were talking about "too much happening' and 'two second clips' and dark (blurry) sequences which makes it very difficult to see who was beating the crap out of whom ... especially in that most recent AVENGERS movie.
I think I should have registered my complaint with the "editing department". but that guy was not involved in the discussion.
UGLY .... I sure as hell ain't no expert when it comes to the success or failure of future films, but my less than educated mind thins that CRIMSOM PIKE will not stand up the hype that it has been getting lately.
And sometimes I am smarter than I think I am when it comes to forecasting future movie disasters.
By the way ... I hated TOMORROWLAND which I thought would be great .... but weren't.

Looked awesome in the trailers, but I'm hearing the same disappointment.

It's just George Clooney. he can't really hold a movie on his own. he's good when he's surrounded by a great cast but alone is not that good.

Wow!!!

I know none of you are gonna do this, but I hope some of you do it anyway just to prove me wrong and take a look at one of the great movies that Hollywood made more than 60 years ago when computers were nonexistent.
Find a copy of DOWN TO THE SEA IN SHIPS and sit back and enjoy it.
I personally think it's one of the best made movies of all time and the acting is great.
And some of you smarter GetBiggers will most likely recognize the young kid in this movie as the same actor who did a successful TV series many years later.
Actually he is one of almost no other kid .... who managed to make a career of acting throughout his lifetime.
Not sure if I posted this earlier.

I thought Dean Stockwell was dead but I see he's still going strong and still acting.
Is it in black and white?
