Title: when people strip/pose/lose the shirt in the gym
Post by: 240 is Back on August 04, 2015, 09:15:38 AM
Everyone is training happily, then some fool decides to either do the shirtless poses between sets, or maybe even run thru their entire posing routine in the dumbbell area.

Is the advent of commercial gyms making this more and more rare?  Disturbing.

I never see it done anymore but I`m the only real bodybuilder where I live............tinytown USA.

I personally do it at home and only when training for a contest.

Shirt off??? Think maybe twice. Guys posing? Fuck man... The turds in my gym just love to pull stuff off like that. Not a routine style, but do a FDB for a sec. make a bad looking face then fuck off. I feel absurdly ashamed for them when I see this.

Many at my gym run to the changing room to quickly take selfies while pumped. I used to get mad but see it more and more as comedic value. I blurted out laughing watching the guy with his "bane" mask to his pullups, oh brother....

Never see it in my gym but occasionally I have to use the bottom of my shirt to wipe the sweat out of my eyes.

...weird how it always happens in front of a mirror...

The reason people do it at the gym is because you will look your best at the gym. Pumped and full of blood and under great lighting. Ive never looked better than in the locker room at the gym after a chest workout

I fuckin' hate guys for wearing them for that exact reason. But some just feel the need to shove the fact they're a "bb'er" down everyone's throat and guys like throat.

I actually think there is far too little of this hitting a quick shot in the mirror or pulling up shirt to check abs stuff.  In my gym the people don't even seem to understand that they are there to train for pleasing visual appearance.  People seem to be afraid to admit their goal is to look better.  How you look, not health or fitness, which is all squishy, subjective crap.

Pulling your drawers down to flex the legs is the most retarded thing I've seen.  Wft?  Trust me, nobody else in the gym wants to see your fatty permabulker ass prancing around the gym in sweaty bikini underwear ffs.  Delusional as fcuk.  It may be quasi-acceptable if you're a pro, training in a gym sponsoring you, and you're preparing for competition.  Outside of that, hang yourself.

Must be beyond tempting to go up to him and pull off a Bane impression, I just laugh so much thinking of doing it, I can't look at him but can't resist it, it's just so funny. Then he goes and drinks water from the fountain.

You'd think a guy like that would have pre boiled water in some glass jar to avoid the chemicals for optimal gym performance assisted by the ever so necessary Bane mask!..

I've owned a small gym for almost 8 years now (personal trainer for @ 20). A new guy joined recently. 17 years old, short, literally 11" arms, a "fellow personal trainer" as he took a 4 day course online, etc, etc... I stepped from my office to find him walking around with no shirt on and checking his poses and strut in the mirrors. All I could visualize when I saw him was a mosquito floating downstream on his back, with a hard on, yelling OPEN THE DRAWBRIDGE, I'M GOING TO HIT!!

I put the kabosh on that crap really quickly  ;)

I started training around 1976 when the only folk in the gym were serious bodybuilders, powerlifters, weightlifters etc.
Posing in front on the mirror at the end of a workout was common and motivational to the beginners like me.
Took a few years for me to try it and when I had developed decent size I did it when I was home on leave into the late 80's.

I actually still train at the same gym again sometimes 39 years later and its now about 10 times bigger and full of boys and girls aged 16+ and average folk and old people and a very few serious bodybuilders and no one poses in front of the mirror these days.
It's a bit sad how mainstream our former underground sport has become.  :'(

It's a public funded town council operated gym my little chum.
Subsidised so that the bigger it gets and more subsidised members go the bigger the strain on the tax payer to fund it.
In some ways its great that training is now so widespread but in some ways I miss the days when training was a sordid underground activity
in a world populated by weirdo's. :D
Anyone born after 1970 just wouldn't understand.
