Title: The pool, the beach, and buffets
Post by: SF1900 on January 19, 2016, 09:47:56 PM
I cannot fathom going into a pool. I think its disgusting. You have kids peeing in the pool, people coughing and spitting, and people with skin disorders and rashes, etc. I know chlorine kills a lot of this stuff, but its gross.

The buffet is equally disgusting. I will never eat at a buffet. You see people taking that large spoon, digging in, and slopping a ton of food on their plates. As their hand reaches over, I just picture a piece of nail or blood from an open wound dropping onto the food.

The beach is nasty too. The sand on beaches in NYC is dirty and littered with beer cans and cigarettes. Lots of needles and weed bags laying around. The ocean is no better. I don't even want to begin to fathom what disgusting crap is in the ocean. Plus, who wants to get eaten by a bull shark (they feed in shallow waters and have higher testosterone than great white sharks).

I went on a date a few months back, and she asked me if I liked the beach or the pool. I told her that I liked neither. She asked me why. I didn't want to go into a detailed explanation (as stated above) so I just said I couldn't swim (Im actually a horrible swimmer and would probably drown). She told me that she "lives" at the beach and/or pool.  Good thing she didn't ask me about buffets.

It's best to stay away from other human species as much as possible, and don't forget gyms, restaurants, and public showers & transport

Depends on the type of restaurant.

I agree about public showers.

I only use transport when it is 100% necessary.

You probably also dislike public restrooms (shit taking) and hand shakes.

The thing is that you don't have any control over the hygiene. The food could be over the date, there's pests in the kitchen or the chef took a dump without washing his hands :-X

Ya make a lot of good points. You left out the spa too. I'd go more often but have no one to go with. Don't wanna be the creeper sitting alone in the water while everyone else is pretty much in groups or couples.

Last time I was at a buffet, there was a guy or two standing very close to the food watching. But the risks of someone purposely poisoning the food is rather high with all the weirdo's nowadays.

The beaches in your area sound disgusting. Cigarette buts are the worst.

Don't think there's sharks in your area though, but I still fear them whenever in the ocean.

Agreed on all points, buffets are goddamned invitations for me to puke, my stomach reacts badly to dodgy food since I was chomped by a spider (dunno why, just works like that) - have hurled at four or more buffets in tow years.

I will add an event to the list: Lottery ticket queues - I never buy them, but have had to stand in line to collect theater tickets (there is a system called Computicket in SA that dispenses from the same cigarette counters that sell lottery tickets). A while ago I asked a dude three times to stop touching my butt, my shopping and breathing on me. I was sick for six fucking weeks starting the morning after the hobo unwashed degenerate social misfit spread his disease.

In fact, given the way that the population like to queue in Africa (as described above) , any line is a death trap. The last time I asked a dude to move back and not exhale in my face (last week) he ended up "stepping up" and having his friends "hold him back" while it was filmed world star style in the parking lot. To be fair I am very glad it didn't go down, I could not work out how to open up without getting ANY of his blood on me.

African pools are not meant to be swum in unless in a friend's back yard. The beaches can be pretty damn mint (if you ignore the microbiological hell that is sand)

I love swimming pools. It's one of the few times you will get to show off your physique to crowds without looking douchey.
I do enjoy the occasional buffet too although I end up eating so much I usually make myself sick. :D

I have my own pool that I keep very clean. I like it. I like the beach too, but wouldn't like NYC beach. Who the fuck goes to a beach in NYC? Some of the most beautiful beaches in the US are in North Carolina. Try it.

My only beef with buffets is that they usually contain nothing but shit food. If it was a high protein buffet with beef, chicken and salmon prepared properly and some quality carbs, I would never leave.

SF1900, you know I like you buddy, but it seems like you have a lot of weird ideas about things. You have also been mentioning your dating troubles. Getting rid of some of these ideas will likely improve your dating. Girls will think it is weird if they can't go to the beach with you or eat a buffet dinner.

I don't have dating troubles. Like most people, there are good dates and bad dates. I talk about the bad dates because its more funny than talking about the good dates. But thanks for your concern!

Further, if a girl is not going to want to date me because of two things (bc I hate the beach and buffets), then she is probably too much of a headache to deal with it anyway. Eating at a buffet is gross, and should be avoided at all costs. One should only engage in a buffet if at a party with friends or family; I have no problem with this.

Well, let me rephrase. The beaches in Long Island, NY (Jones Beach is a popular one). But they are equally as bad as the beaches in NYC.

Please rethink your opinions about buffets, even if the food was good.

I'd hardly call avoiding buffets and pools "tiptoeing" through life. Those are the only 2 hangups I really have, and activities I will 100% not engage in.

Even things I dislike, I will still engage in, especially to appease someone else. But there is little room for negotiation regarding buffets and pools.

Points on buffets are valid, but could easily be applied to restaurants in general.

Of course, but there is a greater chance that hundreds of people visiting the same buffet with no obligation to you, will screw with the food, as opposed to a few cooks/chef, who have an obligation to the restaurant and are getting paid. Its all about probability.

They will store it somewhere in their brain and use it against you as soon as possible.

That's why it's best to be honest... if you can afford it. :)

Yes, it is always best to be honest.
No matter the consequences.

Use a common sense and calculate risk:reward.

Seems to be a slight case of Panphobia.

For some interesting reading, Google THE PHOBIA LIST which seems to name the fears of just about everything ..... some of which are GetBig related.

It's all relative anyway.  Mostly a first world problem.

Last GoRuck, we had one last opportunity to fill water bladders - a disgusting, rusted park water fountain nobody would touch under normal circumstances.....nobody declined.

I can agree with this.

Another example is people who touch every single piece of produce available before they actually choose a tomato or apple, etc....

I was at a Middleastern market last year and a man took a peach from the bin, bit into it, looked at me and said "mmm is gud" and then PUT IT BACK IN THE BIN BITE SIDE DOWN!  My horrified face and loud voice exclaiming "DUDE THAT IS DISGUSTING, ARE YOU F'G KIDDING ME", shamed him into picking it back up, but the damage was already done  :-X :-X :-X  Must be a cultural thing, cuz I've witnessed many men eating their way thru that market.

FORGET all about someone with a "potential" cut at a buffet, imagine dudes who motorboat RANDOM girls' buttholes after bringing them
home from a club, etc...
That's like going from a simple space battle to being sucked right into a deathstar...

I wouldn't say its panphobia. I think both are legitimate concerns and rationale concerns.  :D :D

The peach was yours... in his mind. :)

Almost 40 now.
But I get your point.
Tbh there were times i refused to enter public baths.

Would be great to have a public bathhouse for getbiggers where only the cleanest and strongest could enter.

So, basically, only a few could enter?

If people were meant to go in the ocean we would have gills! Fuck the ocean! Fuck a pool!

I do love me some buffetts though. Not nasty shit like Golden Coral but GOOD one's like in Vegas

But I keep saying that whales who overdo the buffets belong in the ocean!
