Where are the ratings so we can tell if we feel they're inappropriate for this gentleman?

Rating him is tricky because body building has changed a lot since he competed.  I confess that I am biased because Bay likey!   :P

I grant him tier 1 (for his time).

Never dug his physique. Seemed like a nice enough guy, but even from a personality perspective, he had nothing much to offer. As exciting as lukewarm toast.

I liked him at the time, but surely he's just happy to still be alive, based on the attrition rate of those competing during that period. .?

He lacked a world class nasser frame.   stacked on the muscle but cannot help how you're put together.

but he was great personality and likeable and great for the sport.  Nobody had anything bad to say about him.

He wasn't super tall either. I believe he was 5'10"-5'11". Big boy though, 250-300 pound range.

Shitty pecs and arms for a pro, but looked great otherwise in general as far as size and conditioning go..

Exactly - also, I've just noticed that in these pics he appears to have absolutely no external genitalia whatsoever?  ??? (not that I was looking or anything)  Or are these Sloggi lifter pants or something?

2 weeks after his 4th place at the Arnolds classic back in the 90´s i was at a Seminar with Achim Albrecht in cologne-Germany held not far from the "American fitness-shop" at Breite Straße/Gertrudenstraße in a (former) Cinema. Edgar Fletcher (US-HW-Amateur) was also there. Achim did guestposing and after he answered some Fan-Questions.
I can remember that he said there, that if he had knewn before how much he had to put in this "Job" to be a Proff.-Bodybuilder, he would had stop much earlier. He said that he competes only by the fact that he was good in Bodybuilding, but the effort he had to take for many years to get to that Level, and also stay on that Level didn´t worth it. And not so Long after he ended his BB-Pro-Time. After he was in Wrestling, and some other Kind of Jobs. Today he is a Trainer (last Thing i read about him).
All over he seemed to be a relative aggressive Person in his Bodybuilding-time, and moved to many gyms and places in Germany (Münster, Oberhausen, Neustadt-Weinstraße,....) before he went to the US.

And accidents happen a lot in that business, lots of injuries.

Even non-accidents can cause career ending injuries
