hey wiggs here is some foreman facts oldschoolfan was a hardcore boxing fans in the 80's until early 2000's  sport sucks ass now

foreman in his comeback was never knocked down once !

foreman also has the highest ko percentage of any hw in history, and also the most kos

foreman once fought and kod  five men in one night!

larry holmes in his 90's comeback was never knocked out

out of all the 90's hws that made good money only foreman, holmes, and lewis managed to not go broke

foreman has more money than all of them.

He became a Muslim via the Nation of Islam but later left the group and embraced Sufism - a more mystical, liberal and spiritual form of Islam that itself, isn't particular mainstream.

Didnt frazier once say fuck ali and and that at the end he won the battle and war because he wasnt the one braindead with parkensons

He wasn't that blunt about it, but yes he did. If pushed he'd admit that he was happy, and thought that it was his beatings helped Ali get to where he was at, and in that sense he was the winner.

They were friendly before those fights, and Ali was an absolute asshole to him during, and a bit after. Also given the fact that it happened during a time in the prime Civil Rights era was extra hurtful to Frazier. Ali's "Gorilla" speeches were one of the big straws that helped break the camel's back -

.

1:25 - onward.

Anyway, RIP to Ali. Whatever is to be said about him, he was an interesting man in an interesting era.

The thrilla in manilla doc is fantastic, and maybe one of the best documentaries of all time. I'm definitely more of a Frazier fan, as Ali was a bit of an asshole human being imo. I do believe Ali apologized later in life for how he acted towards Joe, but you gotta wonder how much of being a weak cripple was a factor in that humility. Still, one of the  greatest athletes of all time.

The greatest of all time. RIP  :'(

George Foreman on Ali’s death: ‘Part of me just passed with him’
One of Muhammad Ali’s most memorable victories came at the expense of Foreman, but the “Rumble in the Jungle” rivals later became good friends.
By Gabe Hiatt

Like Sonny Liston and Joe Frazier before him, George Foreman had no choice but to play the part. Here was Muhammad Ali at the peak of his rhetorical powers casting Foreman as the ugly American, a sell-out, a big, dumb ox to be dispatched by the greatest of all time.

On October 29, 1974, Foreman played the heavy. The fight was called “The Rumble in the Jungle,” and it was bigger than Don King’s hair. Ali, 32, knocked out the 25-year-old Foreman in the eighth round to reclaim the heavyweight championship title in Kinshasa, Zaire. Ali’s strategy of absorbing Foreman’s blows until the young champion was spent has become legend.

After a career in which he was perhaps the most formidable of Ali’s foes, Foreman shared his thoughts on Ali with KRIV Sports Director Mark Berman late Friday night after reports confirmed the icon’s death.

“As far as George Foreman is concerned Muhammad Ali may have passed but his spirit will live forever,” Berman wrote.

absolutley...JOE was a heart fighter he'd never quit Eddie futch saved him from himself, that fight was increadble with all the twists and turns in a real heavyweight fight we just don't see anymore @ that level, Joe would never stop he had that heart that you also see seldom lacking these days and probably the last 10-15 years Evander Holyfield was the last IMO of the true heart champions with the same mentality they were cut from the same cloth.

It can't be denied, he beat EVERYBODY in the golden era of boxing- Liston, Foreman, Frazier, Norton, Shavers, Patterson, Lyle .... he had the heart of a lion and a chin of granite-  draft dodger- yes, racist- yes, treated Frazier like a dog- yes, hypocrite in  A LOT of ways- yes, but none the less, an AWESOME fighter, who would have WRECKED Tyson for those who don't know boxing

Too bad he is in hell in my opinion because of his religious choices- I gotta believe he wishes he lived his life differently right about now, but it's TOO LATE..... :(

Ali was the best. He was however not a draft dodger. A draft dodger is one whom runs to Canada to get Way from the draft. Ali flatly stated publicly that he was not going to fight in a war for a country that did not treat his people as equals. For that he should have been given a medal.

Not sure if true story but my old man claimed that when he was a kid he almost got to serve Clay a hamburger but the boss and patrons unwelcomed the colored folks from the establishment there in White County, Indiana, where the slogan at the time was Keep White County White.

He fought for himself  - but not his country.

He never denounced the millions of his co-religionists who shout "Death to America!" every day.

He is no hero of mine.

Fairly sure he's made numerous statements denouncing the radical Islamists. The denomination of Islam that Ali followed after leaving the NOI suffers persecution by the hands of the Islamic traditionalists due to being too moderate.

I think Wilt could've beaten him.  Wilt was one of the greatest all 'round athletes ever.

If you think about it,that would make Wilt Chamberlain the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time.

He clearly missed out on some easy multi-million dolalr paydays,by sticking with the less lucrative NBA .:D

It hurts because so many do not deserve what happens to them as time saps the joy life from them. :'(
