Title: Hey sarcasm, try to call BS on this

One of the highlights of the Arnold Classic 98 was the "bench press" challenge by Jimmy"Iron Bull" Pellechia.Ronnie Coleman took up the challenge and benched 225 pounds for a total of 79 reps as compared to jimmy's 59 reps!Even more impressive is the fact that Ronnie put in a heavy chest workout just a day before at World Gym.I watched him do incline bench press with 6 plates for 8 reps followed by benches with 8 plated for 8 reps. This effort had to have weakened him somewhat for the bench press contest the next day.You cant trully appreciate the size and shape of  Ronnie Coleman unless u meet him in person.

Ronnie is superhuman.  Period.  Granted he has a gut and all... but in the grand scheme of things, we are probably looking at one of the most massive and naturally gifted human beings we'll ever see in our lifetime.

i believe the 79 reps that Coleman did with the 225 but i think when it says "six plates on inclines" i think it means 6 plates total because there is no fucking way that Coleman or anyone else did 585 on inclines for reps or 765 on flat benches for reps.

well if the guy mean 6 plate total it isn't really impressive for ronnie

315 for 8 rpes on the day of or before a contest is pretty damn good no matter who you are all things considered but there ain't no fuc.king way that he inclined even close to 585 for a single let alone 8 reps so it has to be 315.

my friend winston weighs 200..natural jamacian...

incline presses with 4 plates/side for 3 reps
deads 8 plates/side for 4 to 6 reps
squats 7 plates/side for 5 reps
benches 4 plates for reps..

dude is super cut yr around with close to 20 inch arms...huge detailed flex like back...small waist..huge chest..huge delts...kinda looks like a bigger wiesly snipes..my bar buddies call him passenger 57 ..
ok legs
no calves...

IF this guy juiced.....IF

Ronnie has never even flat benched 585 for a single let alone for reps on barbell inclines.

if Ronnie did full reps there they were a hell of a lot different than his videos where he goes all the way to his chest but only comes half way up.

I am watching ronnie's "on the road" dvd right now, he is doing full reps, really good form but he use no where near the poundages he is using in his 2 other dvd.
Title: Re: Hey sarcasm, try to call BS on this
Post by: ToxicAvenger on March 28, 2006, 09:15:50 AM
I was there and saw this 1st hand.  Ronnie did full reps, w/o a warm up and could have kept on going.

Jimmy took about 30 minutes to "psyche up", got some wacky 80's hair band music blasting to "pump up" and eneded doing did half reps.  I think he was wearing a bench shirt too...

i just cant believe this "assisted fork lift" pellachia bullshit guy is still around...

do you remember this 2000lb benches  ::)

he's right up there with valvalino

followed by benches with 8 plated for 8 reps.

Yea right.    Did he mean 4 plates each side?    He probably benches 500lbs for 8 and when he's over 300lbs in the offseason.
Title: Re: Hey sarcasm, try to call BS on this

Even more impressive is the fact that Ronnie put in a heavy chest workout just a day before at World Gym.

This is also bullshit.

What's so great about Ronnie benching 405 for 8 reps? Getbig's own "onlyme" did 23 reps with that weight. There is a 210 lb guy on the Monster Muscle Forum (Gunny Green) who can do 405 for 15+ reps.

OMG, I can't believe how much some people lie and expect us to believe this.  This is a blantant lie.  The 79 reps with 225 is unlikely but possible.  However in the COR video, he benches flat 495 for about 5 half reps and struggles with the 6th rep.  That does not equal out to 79 reps on 225.  It doesn't even remotely come close to = reps on the incline with 585 and it obviously doesn't equal 765 for 8 reps.  That would make Ronnie Coleman make Scott Mendleson look like a little girl literally and would put Ronnies max 1 rep raw bench somwhere in the mid to high 800's.   ::)

Kevin Levrone was a stronger bencher than Ronnie, well at least when both were near contest shape in their training videos.

Well they counted only 21, but I did 23.  They said I didn't go all the way up.  And I didn't win.  Curtis Leffler did 29 and one guy tied me and I think one guy did 24 or 25.  The lowest anyone did was 15 reps I think.  And this was back in 91 or 92 or so.

And I do want to say that I did 315 for 8 yesterday, easy.  The guy I am training is now up to 95 lbs on the bench.  Yes 95 lbs.  He is 6'3" and weighed yesterday 148 lbs.  His arms are no way 10"

I'm pretty sure that our own Big Wolfy is the strongest bencher on GetBig.  And his numbers blow Coleman out of the water.  I'm sorry but considering how much shit Coleman takes, his numbers are reasonable but nothing overwhelming.

Coleman benching 600 is NOTHING compared to the guy here who weighs 142 and benches over 400.  Now that is impressive.  Coleman looks and is expected to lift big numbers.  It is 100 times more impressive to see a guy who looks like he never lifted a weight or just normal looking benching big numbers.  There is another guy here a japanese guy who just looks like a regular guy who does 405 like its nothing. That is impressive

So it' s possible that you can do 600lbs natural but impossible for someone to do 765lbs natural?  You just can't accept anyone topping you.  Get over yourself.  It very well may be possible that he did it.

Mendy's 715 raw bench is very impressive. I've seen lots of different partial movements that have been pretty neat to see. But Boltons 971 Deadlift unequipped at this yrs Arnold is hands down the most impressive. He will do 1000 pounds at the NERB meet which is all raw. I will also be benching Raw there.

You are obviously very strong. Stronger than 99.99999% of everyone who has ever lived. However, there are many people stronger than you. Isaac Nesser bench presses in excess of 800 pounds for reps. I have heard of many people who have acquaintances and family members in other states who bench at least 700 pounds without a shirt. Don't let your strength go to you head. There is always someone else stronger.

I don't recall having had anal sex any time recently. I suspect that you made that up. Just because you can make up a lie doesn't mean everyone else is lying to. I talked to a guy at a bus stop who knew somebody that was in prison who bench pressed 900 pounds without a shirt. He may have been using steroids though.

I do not have a problem thinking Ronnie can do 225 for 75 or whatever reps.  When you lift heavy your drop your last set down to 225 and it feels like just the bar.  I only went up to 500 and when I dropped to do my last set I could do 40 to 50 reps and that was after a heavy workout.  225 for Ronnie should feel like nothing.  I am pretty sure I could have never have done 50 reps with 225 if I did it at the begining of my bench workout.  But doing it last after lifting heavy made it really easy.

What's so great about Ronnie benching 405 for 8 reps? Getbig's own "onlyme" did 23 reps with that weight. There is a 210 lb guy on the Monster Muscle Forum (Gunny Green) who can do 405 for 15+ reps.

ryan kennelly does 405 for 20 in his newest dvd. some guy on getbig is outbenching kennelly? thats almost as obviously bullshit as the rest of the claims in this thread.

The guy on Getbig probably has higher muscular endurance, while Kennelly has superior strength.

If only Ronnie would'a learned something about symetry.... than he'd be the greatest mr. Olympia!

whether anyone likes it or not fact is he tied haney with the most o wins, so he is on his way to being considered the greatest o ever, if you count most wins being the greatest.  as to the claim of ronnie with reps w/ 225, on page 1 we have one of getbigs own, mindspin saying he saw it 1st hand so that should be enough for everyone, end of story, he did it.  side note, wolfe, thats a super cool saying "stack it...rack it...attack it."  it just amped me for a workout, thanks.   ;D

I tell you right now Ryan can do more than that.  And to think about it 3 or 4 guys beat me.  Curtis Leffler did 29 reps as a BB.  Just because he only did 20 does not mean that is all he can do.  Ryan is a sstronger bencher than Kazmaier and if I remember right Kaz told me he did 405 for 35 I think. I originally put 50 and someone asked me to verify so I called him and he set me straight. I hvae no reason to lie and its easy to verify my lifts by just asking people who were there.  Do it separately so they can't talk to each other.  Just like when I said Joe Onasai did 500 BNP for 3 or 4 reps live on TV.  Call the TV station or Golds Gym in Honolulu and ask for Joe Onasai.  If I had a tape I would love to post it.  I am pretty certain Joe was there when I did 505 incline clean and full reps.  If not call Golds Gym ask for Tony Harris, Tony Leiato, Francis Silva (who trained me) and there were some others.  I don't have pictures or videos.  I never thought about it nor cared.  I had actual witness's and people who see me lift.  I don't compete and I have never said I can do any kind of heavy lifting now.  I am about as weak as someone can get my size.  From what I have rad on here most of you guys got to join a real gym.  Not your local high school or YMCA.  Cause I have read on here where most of you never even seen guys bench 405.  I see why you are skeptical.  Come to Hawaii I will take to my gyms.  There are guys in there every hour who can bench over 405.  I have my camera phone and I want to take a pic of Sepo at my gym now.  He is a Samoan.  He benches 505 for 5 and easily does 405 for 12 all the time.  I will take his pic benching.  You guys seriously need to get out more.  Plus a guy at aour gym right now is going to start competing in powerlifting.  Darryl, he is 25 years old is 6'1" and weighs 345.  He is really close to benching 600 drug free without a suit.  He can't even buy one.  Don't doubt my word.  Everything I say can be proved or at least backed up by respectable lifters and competitors

Ronnie is superhuman.  Period.  Granted he has a gut and all... but in the grand scheme of things, we are probably looking at one of the most massive and naturally gifted human beings we'll ever see in our lifetime.
naturally gifted at taking unnatural "supplements"  ::)

Wolfe throws his 2 male life partners off him everytime they insert natural testosterone and it gets caught in his eyes. They weight a total of 400 pds. So that is pretty strong naturally.

just cant you cant do it..dont mean shit bro...standing next to you he'd make you look fat..f**k it....i'm gonna take a digital camera and see if i can take pix of him lifting..
Junaid no offense because you seem like a good dude but there is no way in hell that that guy deadlifted 765 for 4-6 reps, that would put his single at at least 830 at 200 that would make him almost as strong as Ed Coan the greatest PL'er of all time, no offense but that's bullshit.

Onlyme - have to say that I really enjoyed reading about your exploits etc over on the 'history' threads. Very interesting.
Just going to comment on Coleman's 225 pounds for 79 reps. I believe that is more than likely and I would suspect he could do alot more than that. Like you say particularly after a heavier workload 225 feels light as ....
I did about 50 reps once just for fun as a warmup and know I could have done more if I trained for that particular goal. I would say based on my own personal experience that 100 reps plus is very possible.
Also like you say about some of the powerlifting feats now routinely managed in gyms all over the world - it is incredible to me. As a previously unbroken record is broken it is amazing how quickly the mindset changes and how quickly the new benchmark just becomes another springboard for a whole new series of new records.
I am thinking here of that Ukranian lifter (i think) Kutcher whose lifts at a bw of around 165 pounds is just insane.
Don't get me wrong the superheavies etc are amazing but when a guy at that bw does that sort of weight it is just incredible.

Badlad, Kutcher is a freak. I have never seen lower back development on anyone that is like his. His lower back is just sick to look at, I dont think alot of top pros have the same kind of lower back development this kid has.

Alexx, are you jealous? I bet you are that is why you are jerking off thinking about me with 2 guys. Does the thought of a Fat outta shape hairy guy being with 2 other men make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Like I said before get your scrawny ass back the gym and do something positive before I make you my bitch and then you wont have to fantasize. And shave your pits there a disgrace to the sport.

Just had to come out of retirement and reiterate the view re: Wolfey being on top form in this thread

See Mike? I told you this place would suit you just fine, its just a shame it took six fucking months and a hiatus at Fortified cunting Iron to get here, I mean, Fortified Iron? for fucks sake, why Mike, why? Stay here at Getbig, we have a better calibre of cunt, forget those pretentious slags at Fortified KY

Oh and, tell that fat cunt Kyle that the 'moonfaced fuck' look isnt supposed to be perpetual, shit, his liver must think its had its fucking throat cut? or perhaps he has discovered a new semen based liver protectant, hence his love for the year round 'fat cunt Dianabolled up to fuck' look?

Sadly, the side effects of such novel medication noted thus far are:

  • the inability to lift for shit
  • an increased drive to take it in the ass
  • a self destructive penchant for well used, second hand 24" mulatto double enders

I don't believe for a second that Ronnie did 79 full reps. That means he could do something like 50 or 60 reps with 315. Totally impossible.

Ronnie just has that kind of muscular endurance. We have Getbiggers who have witnessed this themselves. No need to slip into denial.
