Yep, didn't even know. I created a utube account about a year ago, uploaded some 3 random shitty gaming videos & I log back in today.......... Low & behold, there is $10 in my google/adsense account & I've got 15 subscribers!!!!!! Wtf....
Do I quit my job & start uploading youtube video's full time ??? Need some help here....

30K = ~$10 AUD
1M = ~$333 AUD

I uploaded some Cutler videos(each only a few seconds), never added something else and I'm sitting around 75 subscribers.
Pretty insane if you take into account that there are well made channels with lots of content which only get a few hundred subscribers.

I don't know what kind of gaming videos you uploaded but from what I hear gaming (video I assume) is freaking HUGE. There are some kids at my school that actually go to sold out stadium events to watch this stuff. One kid wants to become a professional "gamer" and is already making like $2k from it. It's a crazy industry.

yes but he's the very tippy top of the YouTube hierarchy.,,plus he has a ton of other streams of revenue coming in from advertising deals and whatnot,,,,and I don't even believe that number anyways

Yeah it's not the subs it's the views. But if PPL are subbed to your youtube account they get notifications every time you upload a new video. So they kind of go hand in hand.

Here is some additional info which may be helpful ......
You get money from every 1000 views and ad revenue. YouTube only looks at views NOT subscribers, they don't care about subscribers.
YouTubers don't state how much they earn, but they earn $1 to $5 per 1000 views + if your videos are monetized you could get ad revenue. So take someone with a 1 million views, you take 1,000,000 divide that by 1000 which will equal to 1000 and multiply that by $1 to $5. So the user might get $1000 min. to $5000 max.
To get paid you'll need to be a YouTube partner. To be in the YouTube's partnership program you'll need to enable monetization in the account settings, this will allow YouTube to place ads on your videos, next you'll need to apply for a partnership at http://www.youtube.com/yt/partners/, then have a Google AdSense account linked to your channel.
To be in the Partnership program: - You create your own original videos )
- The content myst be 100% yours (you made it, not copied)
- You must own all of the implied copyrights
- Your videos must be viewed by thousands
- You must upload videos on a regular basis
- The videos must be suitable for all viewers
- You must prove you are 18+ years old
My suggestion would be to keep your present job while developing a YouTube following.
In the event that YouTube starts paying you more than your present job consider giving YouTube your full attention.
Consider that $10 as an ESCROW ACCOUNT in which all requirements must be fulfilled until it is release to yourself.
I believe that the present 'requirement' is to secure a total of& 100 in that escrow account prior to your rightful ownership of that account.
I understand that some big Youtube income is generated by some who know nothing about the bodybuilding ''game' but offer their bodybuilding comments in a derogatory manner ..... which many individuals seem to enjoy.

What the fuck was that. The guys dentures were hillarious. yeah, make a stupid video and hope it catches on but this one looks like it was professionally done and distributed. Fake viral video. There are firms out there that will search for all sorts of videos and if they think they have potential to take off they'll offer the video owner $1000 and up for the rights. they then take it and promote the shit out of it and all of a sudden it's on the news and showing up everywhere. So don't think the asian dude is getting $1/2 million. He probably got a couple grand and some firm is now collecting the royalties.

yeah that's insane right?! I think he posts alot on that Minecraft game, whatever that is. I looked up biggest YT earners last year and there were some impressive numbers from a few hundred thousand to guys like PewDiePie in the millions.
