You get money from every 1000 views and ad revenue. YouTube only looks at views NOT subscribers, they don't care about subscribers.
YouTubers don't state how much they earn, but they earn $1 to $5 per 1000 views + if your videos are monetized you could get ad revenue. So take someone with a 1 million views, you take 1,000,000 divide that by 1000 which will equal to 1000 and multiply that by $1 to $5. So the user might get $1000 min. to $5000 max.
To get paid you'll need to be a YouTube partner. To be in the YouTube's partnership program you'll need to enable monetization in the account settings, this will allow YouTube to place ads on your videos, next you'll need to apply for a partnership at
http://www.youtube.com/yt/partners/, then have a Google AdSense account linked to your channel.
To be in the Partnership program: - You create your own original videos )
- The content myst be 100% yours (you made it, not copied)
- You must own all of the implied copyrights
- Your videos must be viewed by thousands
- You must upload videos on a regular basis
- The videos must be suitable for all viewers
- You must prove you are 18+ years old
My suggestion would be to keep your present job while developing a YouTube following.
In the event that YouTube starts paying you more than your present job consider giving YouTube your full attention.
Consider that $10 as an ESCROW ACCOUNT in which all requirements must be fulfilled until it is release to yourself.
I believe that the present 'requirement' is to secure a total of& 100 in that escrow account prior to your rightful ownership of that account.
I understand that some big Youtube income is generated by some who know nothing about the bodybuilding ''game' but offer their bodybuilding comments in a derogatory manner ..... which many individuals seem to enjoy.
