Title: i went to the gym today...
Post by: ratherbebig on November 15, 2016, 04:48:03 AM
...and got a new membership.

didnt work out, but at least i got to the front desk.

i am making progress. no need to rush things.

after that i went to mcdonalds and had two big macs.

im planning to start training on thursday. this will be the first time in three months. since most people will start training in january im way ahead of the crowd. WAY AHEAD.

thank you

i have a problem with consistancy. i dont need steroids i just need to hit the gym 3 times a week for a year or two and be injury free.

i think most people would be pretty close to their genetic max if they just did that and pretty happy with the result.

well wouldnt you agree that to reach say 80% of your natural genetic limit can be done rather quickly, then the remaining 20% or so take longer and then to exceed that you would need steroids

Most people, even those that go 3 times a week for 1, 2 years are nowhere near their "genetic limit."

really so where you reckon they're percent wise? 50% meaning they have another 50% growth to get outta their arms, legs, shoulders, back and 50% more musclemass to add to their frame? seems pretty unlikely.
ill stick to my 80% estimate.

Sounds like you are obsessed with numbers, trying to put a definitive quantity on something that can't be judged with such a grand, sweeping stroke. Far too many X factors go into it. Diet, genetics, outside stressors, et al.

and there i was thinking you had anything to say and would want to discuss this but instead you avoid it alltogether.

ok fair enough.

you reckon people will grow and grow and grow for years and years and years, never even close to their genetic max...
when in reality there is zero reason to believe this.

It depends. I think if you train and diet properly and consistently from the very start, you'll be close to your genetic limit by the end of the second year.

And you are reckoning that all people grow at their maximum rate just by going to the gym a few times a week. I'm not surprised that the speculative inanity of such a statement evades you.

Which is the point I was trying to make. All of those factors have to be in check, and even then.. training style, intensity etc. Two years to max out? Maybe on the far end of the spectrum but hardly the norm.

most people will make their most dramatic change to their physique in the first years. after that theyre not gonna make any significant improvements in their bodyparts. theyre not gonna double their arm size etc

And you know this how? The first post of this thread is you admitting you haven't even started working out, and chose McDonalds instead...

you dont think it make sense that people make their most gains in the beginning rather than later? you reckon it either is an even progress or that the gains will start slow and then speed up? to be honest thats the first time ever i heard someone think that. quite amazing!
so talk about 'beginner gains' and people being motivated by seeing progress in the gym etc just goes outta the window. no for you its even or gains come after many, many years!

incredible!

here comes the whiny bitching gimmick/troll-response

stick to posting pictures of bodybuilders, you obviously are not knowledgable enough to discuss training.

realize youre alone in thinking most of your gains = closing in on your genetic max = does NOT come early in your training career.

young brad pitt before hitting the weights

brad pitt in fight club, would it take him 3 times a week for 10-20 years to reach that physique? not likely... 1-2 years is FAR more plausable.
