Title: Dedicating this year to getting my pro card
Post by: Coach is Back! on November 16, 2016, 10:01:40 PM
.....been training. 54 5'7 232lbs at present. I'm smooth but not "fat" (yes, I have abs) dropping down to or hoping light heavies

Great physique BUT with your age, frame and strength, why don't you try to win some benchpress/powerlifting contest instead? the John Meadows look will do you no good. Not that you care about my opinion though  :D

Go for it! You are short enough to still hold enough relative mass at your age, in legs etc.

Do a transformation and document it on instragram, make sure you're pushing your social media more and you'll get a decent amount of extra exposure that will be great for your business.  Transformations and īn progress stuff is gold for instagram/social media.

By all means, dedicate this year to getting into great shape - but don't overdo it.  There is not constructive point to go that extra mile.

You're under the impression that at 54 (I turn 55 in August) that I would be taking a ton of gear. The fact is I can't remember a time in my 42 years of training that I've ever taken even a gram if that. It doesn't take that much despite popular belief.

Dear Coach,

We've never met but have interacted for years here at getbig .
You're  a straight shooter and I think you've got the potential to do well.
Yes, you can get a pro card in the over 50 masters nationals.
It's a lofty goal and worth going for ...BUT WHY?

Seriously Coach, I've considered that myself and opted out.
Every stage in life offers its' own unique challenges.
I did my competitive BB stint, and closed that door behind me  years ago.

To me life is like a river.
Go with the flow and enjoy the scenery.

All the best to you regardless of your choice.

You're a better bodybuilder than I am, but, we're pretty close in age. Another option is lose the bulk do some distance running.  I've been running in races from 5K to Half Marathon. There's tons of young pussy at these events as opposed to the ghastly homosexuals who attend bodybuilding contests.

Coach, If I'm not mistaken .... Joe Valdez shot an exceptionally fine picture of you years ago which appeared to be shot in a park.

If that was you, I'd suggest you post it here to show these GetBiggers  how great a bodybuilder you were back then.

And ... Good luck at the MASTERS....

agreed but at your age its anti aging qualities might help offset some of the damage your going to do by upping the dose a little in an attempt to get your card, I get your dosage statement, were on the same page if you have the genetics its easier to believe what can be achieved than when you don't. Im talking a few ius a day none of the high dose rubbish.

I never understood why if someone decides to diet and put on a pair of trunks and a fake tan you are killing oneself. I know what Coach does and with the size he is living with all he has to do is diet and step onstage. He's not going to kill himself by being hungry.

An outstanding conservative, who not only lifts for life, also lives the life... (And makes a living at it).
People try to bust Coaches nuts about height, etc.
That means they are haters, living in Ma's cellar, jerking it to male BB pics.
If someone has some hate toward a persons looks, just means they are very insecure themselves. Way to go Joe, keep it going!
