Title: The joys of having a dog
Post by: El Diablo Blanco on April 03, 2017, 11:12:14 AM
I've never had a dog growing up.  Decided to get a pup about a year ago.  Was a pain in  the ass for the first 6 months but I stuck with the training every day and spending as much time with her as I could.  Now at a year old she is the best thing in my life.  My little loyal pal.  She is essentially my shadow that follows me around everywhere. The adoration and love she shows me is unlike any other.  When I get home it's pure joy.  She runs around me, through my legs and presses up on me as hard as she can and then plops down and closes her eyes and naps because she can relax now that I'm home.

Seriously for those that don't have a dog, it's the best thing you can do in your life.  After one year I cannot imagine how my life can be the same without her in it.

Dogs are awesome

Growing up my dad always had dogs and he got me a jack Russel puppy for Christmas when I was 9 and she was an amazing dog and greatest friend ever.

Our current dog we got when he was 15 months and had learned a lot of bad habits and he's proving hard to break them and settle down but slowly getting there and his beautiful loving nature makes up for it, the kids adore him and he loves them and is great with them. His snoring is the loudest I've ever heard in my fucking life it's like a chainsaw.

Dogs are great, they are an extension of my family. People comment to me that they would love to be my dog.  I guess I take good care of them?? They ride with me everywhere in my truck when I run errands. Hate to think about losing my buddies, makes me extremely sad and depressed.

Dogs are great, only downsides are they die which I take extremely hard and you have to come home. I don't have a dog of my own but if I get one and need to go out of town for a few days luckily I could drop it off at my sisters house.

Glad you are so happy EDB.

And pairs of glasses!

So basically you like the attention, adoration and affection. Sounds needy to me. Plus a dog shits everywhere and needs to be walked all the time.
People that love dogs usually don't do well with other humans. You may be the exception. I hate people that don't clean up their dog shit which is pretty much every dog owner.

Again. Training is key. I spent a lot of time training my dog. A lot.  It's worth it long term but definitely exausting at the time.

The problem is 99% of people don't train their dogs. Nor do they care. People want to be loved. So they get a dog.

The best dogs I've ever had have either been strays or adopted from SPCA.

Try looking through the various dog rescue sites
It's surprising how or why some very expensive dogs are in there.

No where will you find such a relationship and connection between a man and a dog. To me, it's almost divine. That it's God's way of showing that unconditional love exists.

It's one of my litmus tests. Never trust anyone that doesn't like dogs.

So it's better to be ignored and despised? Human's have needs. Love it one of them. So what?

"People that love dogs usually don't do well with other humans."

Never trust anyone that doesn't like dogs? Why. Elaborate on this statement. Whether you like dogs, cats, rabbits, iguanas doesn't define who you are as a person.

What an idiotic statement.

And I have not once stated whether I like dogs or do not like dogs but I sure can't stand most dog owners.

Dogs are cool but they never ever leave you alone and that gets really annoying after a while. It is kind of sad that we are literally their entire world, and that we have bred that to be so in them. Cats on the other hand don't give a shit. Sometimes they want to hang out, and sometimes they don't. Either way, they don't care really. And they bring you dead things that they've killed which is cool in a bit of a morbid way. I like both but I prefer cats over dogs.

Dog's give you unconditional love which is nice to have but also the cheapest form of love.

A dog doesn't care if you are an Adolf Hitler or a Mother Teresa, if you feed him and are his "Master" he will be devoted to you.

If you take care of a dog, then that dog will always be loyal to you. There's no guarantee when you replace that dog with a child.

Not a fan but has more to do with dog owners then the dog. A lot of dog owners seem to think that dogs can do anything they want and it is "cute". Like jumping all over you, trying to sniff your food while picnicking, saying "he doesn't bite he just barks" then they proceed to bite you, etc.

They let them get away with things they would never let their two year old human do. Just weird.

Just weird.

There are lots of lazy and bad dog owners.  Fucking hate them.  I spent endless hours training my dog to never jump on or lick strangers.  I can't stand badly trained dogs.  lazy owners.  I don't even take her to dog parks anymore.  People just allow shitty behavior and I can't stand it.  The only thing I don't fix and it's purposely is she goes bezerk when the doorbell rings but I'm okay with that.  It will let unwanted visitors to know to stay the fuck away.  I know I can correct it but why bother?
Same goes with food. She knows to leave things when I tell her to leave it. Again it's a lot of training and being diligent with it.

A bit off topic, but I'm pretty sure that dog parks are better places to meet women than Tinder has to offer.
(granted, just saw a long legged brunette with a dog passing by)

They prob hate dogs as much as you do

I dont hate dogs, just like mazrim I dont like owners of dogs who treat them like spoiled brats and love them more than their family members. I know few such individuals and they and their dogs are plain retarded.

Don't own a dog and never will.  Don't hate them, but I'm just not a pet person.

It's because you don't have one and can't understand the relationship

X2. I like animals, but never really saw the need to own one as a pet.

Don't let dummy owners sour you on dogs, bro.

Here, send a subtle message: Next time they ignore the pet's misbehavior, quietly dislodge your penis and stream a steady, pungent bladderful directly at the animal's snout. For best results, maintain continuous eye contact with either "parent" until evacuation is complete.

I saw a program on TV where they explained that the part of the brain that perceives the passing of time is small in a dogs brain.  Thus when the owner leaves the house for a period of time, the dogs brain doesn't know the difference between you leaving for 8 hours or 8 days.  In the dogs brain, it's the same.  This is why you get such a strong reaction from dogs after being away for most of the day.  To them, you'be been away a week.

Ok, point taken. Not everyone has a great relationship with his family, that's just the way it is.

1 human year is 7 dog years.  So being gone for 1 hour is like a whole day to them.

'Humans' destroy the whole planet, compare that with the traces of dogs... Think about that first.

Or why not become serious? Telling it was just a joke is a typical Dutch response.
