When your regular barber's work starts to go downhill and you're noticing another barber's work is fire.
Anybody successfully pulled this off?
I tried it once about 8 years ago, but the replacement did not respond well. I figured either he did not like my lack of loyalty or the original barber made an issue out of it. ::) Since then, I usually just stick with the one barber until the work gets bad enough that I switch shops. About three haircuts ago, my regular barber wasn't there when I stopped in so another dude did it and I looked like a billion bucks afterwards. Been wanting this other dude to be my regular, but have been dreading the switch up. I'm gonna get this hair chopped off tomorrow morning and just decided one way or another that the new dude is going to do it.

Chick I went to for three or four years had a kid about seven years ago. She gave me another chicks number to take care of my haircuts while she was on maternity leave. I never went back. The other chick has been cutting my hair ever since, and it still kind of feels like "cheating".

I heard somewhere years ago that when you go to a barber/hairdresser to get your hair cut by the one with the shittiest cut on their heads because they cut each others hair.

The funny thing is that at this particular barber shop, I let one of the guys line me up like a year before I became a regular customer and then when I finally left my last barber, I decided I was gonna be the type of customer who just goes to the next open chair. My current barber (that I'm leaving) did a great job with my first haircut so I decided he was going to be my regular. That first time kinda distorted my perception of him cuz over the years he's really only had about a .500 batting average and they've gotten progressively worse. The last 3 from him have been really disappointing. Can't go through summer like that :'(

Looked at it a decade ago but decided against. They told me rogaine + finasteride, rogaine on it's own wouldn't do the trick without a DHT inhibitor.
But there's enough dudes out there reporting limp weiner syndrome from finasteride or dutasteride, and no return of boners even after stopping the fin/duta. Fuck that. Scared me right off.

I'm in a similar conundrum. Been going to this 62 year old Mexican chick who looks/sounds like a Mexican Betty Boop.. Big fake boobs n stuff. This chick took one of my flyers and got it blown up to poster size and put the poster up in her salon dot dot dot she's always been super nice always squeezes my arms and shoulders and stuff and I've gotten along with their pretty good period even trained her grandson because her daughter's husband was bullying him and picking on and what not so they could needed some self-esteem or something. Then had to deal with arrival business when they were bullying her and fucking with her business and what not. The lady even offered to let me have her H2 Hummer to drive around when I mentioned I was in the market for a new car. Said just take the Hummer and keep it as long as you want don't worry I have other cars (she usually dreads around in a little Felipe Mercedes SLK). I declined.
This lady has the same to God damn gospel songs playing on a loop 24/7 in her salon which she will stop and sing along to in the middle of a haircut.
She only charges $10 for a haircut and she's like 2 minutes from where I live, and this lady I swear to God I tell her every time Square Off The Top don't round it over and just about when she's done she wants to keep talking and talking and talking and what the hell does she fucking do she starts to round over the corners on the sides.. I think she does this because she knows the Haircutters damn near done and she has more she wants to talk about. My haircuts are fucking easy. I jusy say shave the sides with the one and Spike the top. nice and short, high and tight just don't round the top over... it should only take about 10 minutes max but every fucking time this lady takes an hour at least to cut it because she wants to talk and flirt and shit... this last time I go in for a haircut and I had let my hair grow out for a quite a few months and she asks me 3 fucking times when I want so I tell her the same fucking thing and has been the same fucking thing for the past four or five years. Then she asks three more times how close I want it shaved on the sides and I have to tell her three more fucking times shave it with a number one. Then the lady asked about my girlfriend twice and each time I had to tell her that I broke up with her over a year ago. Which is something she already knew period but this time I had to remind her twice within the span of maybe 5 minutes. I thought the bitch had a fucking stroke or something and she was slow. And then 45 minutes later I'll tell her flat out you talk just like that nice and flat and straight and squared-off don't touch the sides and what the fuck does she fucking do? Star surrounded the fuck over what the fuck fuck that shit piss me off how to tell her to stop twice. Then the dumb bitch says since I had a lot of hair she has to charge me $20 for that haircut. Well fuck for $20 I could have went up the barber shop up the street and then in an hour and 15 fucking minutes tops. So instead of giving her a tip like I usually do. She just got that 20 bucks. And no hug this time. Bitch LOL

Anyway this tread is intersting. Switching barbers within the same shop is playing with fire. Its like bringing another woman in the bedroom, shoving your wife to the side of the bed and you instantly start fucking the woman you just brought in. Good luck with that.

Where I am from most barbershop dont have a system with a dedicated barber. Its not possible to make appointments in advance. You just walk in and get a haircut at the first open chair. It it is a good barbershop this is no problem.

I have been enjoying mine to be honest. I drop it in my backpack and take it everywhere. If I have some downtime during the day, when I'm traveling, just randomly waiting around for something.
I took my kids to one of those high end burger joints and it wasn't busy, since the burgers are made fresh, it took a bit. I pulled it out and my daughter and I played snipperclips together.
It's just a flexible console.
If you're into Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is absolutely an amazing game. The best Zelda game I've ever played and I've played them all.

But, as for the highlighted part, I did notice that everyone else in the thread mentioned that their barbers were ladies. I am black, but I have russell wilson-type hair, so I go back and forth between black styles and traditionally white/latin styles and don't necessarily choose my barbershop based on demo. If I was going to choose a barber based on race, I would choose a dominican, but I've been pretty racially agnostic when it comes to choosing a barber over the last decade. The place I'm going to now is diverse but leans towards straight/fine hair and only guys work there. As a matter of fact, of all of the places that call themselves "barber shops" that I've gone to over the years, the only one that had a woman working there as a hair artist was a black barber shop. I've been to some unisex salons with male and female stylists, but it seemed like guys gravitated toward male stylists and women seemed to not care either way. So, at least in NYC, it's not really just a black thing, but judging from the other responses in this thread, it seems like NYC is an outlier.

I was the same. Liked it sharp at all times. Would try to go every week, never more than 2 weeks. But I got fed up of waiting for an hour for a haircut so just went 1 all over and did it myself.
Got bored of that and learnt to do my own hair with a simple short on top spiked up buzzcut thing. I've decided to grow it out a bit and have a slightly more adventurous style now. So I guess it's back to waiting at barbers for me.
