I'm back from my vacation and here's my 2 cents on the issue:
1. In fairness to the President, he wasn't PERSONALLY under investigation .
Plus, we have no clear evidence he was directly involved with Russian election collusion.
2. However, it looks pretty damn bad that the President
attempted to pressure Comey to stop the Flynn investigation.
Comey was also clear he didn't trust Trump and said he lied.
That COULD be obstruction of justice. We'll see what special cos. Mueller reveals .
3. Here's additional info we now have confirmed:
a. Gen Flynn has been investigated for criminal acts.
b. Former AG Lynch promoted Comey's suspicion when she met
with Bill Clinton on her plane. Plus, it sounds shady that AG Lynch
instructed Comey to refer to the Hillary investigation as a "matter" .
FYI, the Hillary criminal investigation was concluded and closed.
* Trump backers assumed she'd be found guilty, she wasn't.
In the same light, we have a long way to go before Pres. Trump
is worthy of impeachment and conviction. ;)
c. There should be no more debate now on Russia hacking into
our election systems , BUT they failed to change any actual votes counted/cast.
Today is just a big news day in this on going saga.

During the Senate Intel hearing Thursday, former FBI director James Comey revealed that during the 2016 election, then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch ordered him to downplay the investigation into Hillary Clinton by calling it a "matter" instead of a criminal investigation and Comey obliged.
Comey mislead the entire country to go along with the Clinton campaign talking points. He's a democrat shill that bowed down to political pressure to protect Hillary Clinton.
Senator Lankford probed Comey saying," And then you made a comment earlier about the Attorney General, previous AG [Lynch] asking you about the investigation on the Clinton emails, saying that you were asked not to call it an 'Investigation' anymore, but to call it a 'Matter.' And you said that confused you. Can you give us additional details on that?"
Comey replied, "Well, it concerned me, because we were at the point where we refused to confirm the existence of an investigation --as we usually do-- for months,. And it was getting to a place where that looked silly, because the campaigns were talking about interacting with the FBI in the course of our work.
The Clinton campaign at the time was using all kinds of euphemisms, 'security review,' 'matter.' Things like that.
For what was going on. We were getting to a place where the Attorney General and I were going to have to testify and talk publicly about it, and I wanted to know if she would authorize us to confirm we had an investigation. And she said yes, but don't call it that, call it a 'Matter.' And I said why would I do that? And [Lynch] said just call it a 'Matter.'
And again, you look back in hindsight, should I have resisted more? I just said this wasn't a hill worth dying on, so I said, okay, the press is going to completely ignore it, and that is what happened. When I said we opened a matter, they all reported the FBI had an investigation open. And that concerned me because the language tracked the way the campaign was talking about the FBI's work, and that is concerning... It gave the impression that the Attorney General was looking to align the way we talked about our work with the way a political campaign was describing the same activity, which was inaccurate. We had a criminal investigation open... And so that gave me a queasy feeling."

Here's my summary on each side:
1. Trump supporters want the focus totally on
him not being personally under investigation and no direct links to Russian collusion.
They want to believe that Trump is 100% exonerated and we can drop the Russia investigation.
2. Dems want to ignore the fact , that his testimony won't be enough evidence to
have congress draft articles of impeachment.
My conclusion: we aren't close to being done with this Russia investigation.
Special cons. Mueller should have the last big word on how bad this actually is.

If Comey admitted, under oath, that he leaked information, some of which might have been classified, possibly as a means of retaliation, why is he not prosecuted and/or jailed? The agency he used to head investigates and arrests many people for such offenses or for minor crimes. Was he "extremely careless" like Hillary and therefore exempt from the law?

Noting how much has been leaked to the press as various entities investigate Russia’s interfering in the 2016 election – this investigation is so full of leaks, Rubio said, they sometimes “learn more from the press than in open hearings” – Rubio asked Comey, like he meant it to sting, why the “only thing never leaked is that the president is not under investigation.”

I think he probably broke the law, or at a minimum was extremely careless with government info. And he leaked the contents of private conversations with his boss solely to protect his reputation. There was nothing secret or confidential in the memo and he didn't break any laws by asking a friend to leak the contents of it to the press
BTW - I predict that Trump will never actually testify under oath even though it's reported today that he is willing to do so.
I do think that Dan Coats and Adm. Michael S. Rogers will be compelled to testify about whether Trump pressured them in any way regarding ongoing investigations.

The greatest irony is that Trump succeeded in baiting Comey to a degree that even Trump could not have imagined. After calling Comey a “showboat” and poor director, Comey proceeded to commit an unethical and unprofessional act in leaking damaging memos against Trump.
Comey described a series of ethical challenges during his term as FBI director. Yet, he almost uniformly avoided taking a firm stand in support of the professional standards of the FBI. During the Obama administration, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch gave Comey a direct order to mislead the public by calling the ongoing investigation a mere “matter.” Rather than standing firm on the integrity of his department and refusing to adopt such a meaningless and misleading term, Comey yielded to Lynch while now claiming discomfort over carrying out the order.

I don't think he needs to be found guilty of a crime to resign.
Special counselor Mueller will determine that with the investigation.
We can debate and argue all we want, but that's who will determine any criminal action of Trump.
Seriously now, I THINK Trump now feels being President is a lot harder and more
stressful then he ever imagined.
I'd love to see him pull it together and actually make America better then ever.
In my OPINION, Trump lacks the temperament to be an effective POTUS.
I look for him to resign when the heat really comes.

I'm not playing dumb. I just find it unfathomable that Trump *could* be facing criminal charges, but not a single person could tell me what exactly those charges should be (except for a few individuals screaming "treason").
