Any cool stories?

I used to work security in a rehab clinic. I remember we once had Matt Hughes' cousin in. He befriended another client during his stay, his friend was an arrogant dick and a bully.

Even to his own family?
Everybody, family included.

I did some nightclub security back in the day. Other than break up a few fights, it's really a boring job. Just stand around all night trying to look tough.

nah it doesnt seem fullfilling

It isn't, but you do get to drink for free.

And you can pretty guarantee getting laid by the end of the night...

I worked the doors in London in the 80s, one night Roy Shaw and Lenny Mclean went at it, I walked over and banged their heads together and explained to them i wouldnt tolerate any more of their naughtiness.
they both looked rather sheepish, I got them to shake hands and behave themselves for the rest of the night.

Looking for erotic stories about men jerking off bouncers to get in the club?
Are there things Darren?

Bartending is much better for that. I did that too. It's not even close.
The movie Cocktail is a pretty accurate depiction of what it's like to be a young bartender in a busy bar, except for the stupid juggling of bottles.
If I had to bet my money on the get bigger who's gotten the most pussy, I would go with go4it. That good looking and working in a bar. Forget about it.

Done it for years and have tons of cool stories.
Withholding them for now, since they will pale in comparison to those to be posted by ESfiness
-
sometimes becoming a bouncer is the only way to get into a club

I worked the doors in New York. So back in november 1990 Tyson wanted to get in the club I was working in, but we have a very strict "no sneaker" policy. Anyway to make a long story short I sold Mike 5 cardridges of finaplix which i had gotten in Tijuana across the street from "el pollo loco" and Mike left as a happy camper. Meanwhile I took 4mg of xanax and snorted some oxy pills to stay focused through the night. Lucky that I had done that, otherwise I wouldn't be able to sell Wesley Snipes my 1800hp Dodge Viper.

I would imagine it didn't suck.

No, I much prefer to be the person thrown out for drunken inappropriate behaviour
-
Any cool stories?
Too many unfortunately

I didn't include Grant. The sluts he banged in porn are essentially hookers. In my mind, if they are getting paid, it doesn't count.

No sir it did not ;D

is it me or are all these threads being started to give esfitness a platform for his bullshit?

Off and on for 20 years. Between various legit jobs, I'd bounce.
Too many dust-ups to mention. Some actual fights, others "skirmishes" (the majority).
In all my time and in all the various establishments I've only been KTFO once, and at that, it was only for a few seconds and from a sucker punch. Happy ending: My partner on the door caught him down the block and literally soccerballed his head off a curb. Ambulance took him away.
-
I did for a couple years. Was a lot of fun. Made a lot of money. Mostly did Raves. Big dealers who were selling ex and other drugs would give me a few thousand asking me to allow their boys to sell inside the venue without flack. I let them in to do their thing and warned the other bouncers to just look the other way. The small time dealers would get rolled and I'd take their stash but let them keep their money. Then later in the night when all of the strippers started arriving I'd hook them up with free drugs from the confiscated stash. I was fucking all sorts of hot whores then. Was a great time. Remember when my mom found a shoe box in my closet filled with coke, week, ex and all sorts of other shit. She just shook her head and told me to hide it better so my Dad wouldn't find out. lol. Good time.
-
I bounce just by walking.

I bounced in Australia for a year...would you believe the only people I threw out were irish. We had a massive brawl with about 20 cork lads one Night after one of their gfs had words with the doorman. Lots of pushing and shoving turned into a full blown mania on the streets I choked one dropped another, got threatened because I was the only irish bouncer out of 12 of us, cops eventually came and stun gunned two. the bitch who started it all was in the back of the paddy wagon (they have metal doors in oz) was screaming "my daddy's a lawyer and I'm gonna get this place shit down"...she was deported 3 days later 😂😂

Worked the the door and the line at club elements, rich's,& e-street in san Diego. Only interesting things were drunk 18-19yr old marines and navy kids in line at elements since it was an 18+ techno club and the only club they could get into. They were likely from Bumfuck Ohio and never been to a club before so they'd get drunk in the parking lot and come cause trouble in line saying "I'm a trained killer!" type shit. One guy brought his knife with him.. Big ol k-bar lookin thing and told him to take it back to his car. Dude got angry and another security took it from him and they argued. Dude stood there stewing while I was talking to someone else with my head turned. Heard him say something I as I was turning my head I got a left hook to the chin. Grabbed his arm and tossed him on the ground and another security guy came down full force wit his knee in the middle of the guys back lol.. All 260lbs of him.. I stood back up and people were pointing at me and some black guy says "yo you leakin homie" I don't speak niggro and didn't get what he meant and some girl point and my shirt which had blood squirting on it. Come find out it was coming from my chin. Go look in a mirror Nd see my chin split 3 ways looking like a starfishs pussy. He was wearing a ring and cut my chin in 3 directions and had to get stitched up.
Think that was the. Only time I got hurt.
Working outside security at key club in LA saw Cormier inside puking and giggling in a corner when i went in to kiss. Saw quite a few kids OD while working at Circus Disco in downtown LA.. Saw undercover cops bust a coy ppl e guys dealing in there too. Saw bunch of fights or robberies by the parking lot of that place as well. All us had armed security to walk us to our cars atnclosing at 4-5am cuz it was a sketchy area near Skidrow.
-
Oh... Did see one guy od on acid and ecstasy.. Asian guy stripped naked but couldn't get his pants off his ankles and fell kicking his feet and swatting imaginary spiders or something off his body while spinning in circles on the dance floor.. Everybody stopped and was freaked out. Lol.. Dude eventually kicked his pants off and ran out the door barefoot and naked in downtown LA right by the police station by skid row. Haha. Felt bad for him. Other security took his clothes and found 2 visine bottles of acid and 30+ tabs of x which they all split up amongst themselves.

The bar life is fun when you're in your 20s but after a while you really get sick of dealing with drunks. To this day, whenever I hear a drunk person slur his speech it makes my skin crawl.

same shit, I avoid those places since ive worked in the scene for a long time. i love a lounge or a hotel bar
not a great story but here is something i found interesting.
this one bouncer hated women. hated chics. so he would throw chics out (nightclub) and when he would throw them out, he would tske their handbag and open it up, and dump all their shit on the ground (lipsticks, keys) right on the ground so the drunk chic would have to pick it up off the floor
he sometimes would unzip the bag, turn it upside down and toss it out so shit would go flying everywhere - dude hated women

Worst club I ever worked in Australia was in St Kilda, Melbourne. Full of young Irish lads, fights everywhere. Bouncer who worked there before me was hospitalized. Fuck that scene.
Now I mainly work at race meets standing around in a suit keeping an eye on old drunks.

Horseshit dingus. Celebrities go to "regular " AA meeting all the time bc the principle behind AA is fellowship with other AA-ites and ALL AA meetings are open to all alcoholics

Who gives a fuck. If court can order somebody to AA and make it public record, it ain't anonymous...

Arkansas club shooting: 25 shot as rap concert erupts in gunfire | Fox News
https://www.google.com/amp/www.foxnews.com/us/2017/07/01/17-injured-others-trampled-in-arkansas-club-no-apparent-connection-to-terror.amp.html
This story reminded me of one. In my nightclub security career, I worked a few black parties. Some of my coworkers were also black. By the end of the night I found myself actually having to console some of these guys because they were so embarrassed by the behavior of their own people. I specifically remember one huge 300 pound guy sitting in a corner literally shaking his head in dismay at the behavior he had witnessed.

out of interest - which venue? I'm going to take a guess it was the elephant and wheelbarrow based on the amount of irish blokes there. I did it as a second job for close to 20 years. As far as st kilda goes, I've worked at the palace (back in the early to mid 90 when they had 'twister' there and before it was moved to the front room of the venue, I've also worked at the prince of wales and the greyhound. I've worked a bunch of other places around melbourne too. I got out of the industry around 2012 and am actually (in my mid 40s) going to go back to it, just picking up a fri/sat night because an old friend who is still in the industry has asked me to come and work with him again.
General comments - definitely bartenders and 'good' DJs are the ones having the most luck with the women, but it definitely helps you if you're a bouncer. I'm in all seriousness ugly enough to be (in the words of gunnery sargeant Hartman) 'a modern art masterpiece' and it definitely was the reason for a few of the relationships I've had over that time. I don't think it's so much due to any status symbol. nobody perceives you as a badarse (or badass for you US guys) - if anything working in that industry that long is a cry for help :) . My guess as to why it helps with hooking up with women is that you end up getting into conversations with them because they'll come up to you if they are bored, and in a sense the fact you are working there makes them feel like you aren't going to be the creep that tries to slip something into their drink or assault them or whatever, so in a sense it sort of gets you past the initial job interview phase of any conversation with them.
On the drugs side of things, I'd respectfully have to agree to disagree with the strategy mentioned by El Diablo Blanco of taking money from big dealers, or having any involvement in the drug trade at all. It's likely such endeavours could get you hurt because the last thing you want to do is give criminals, especially more organised (which really just means they have larger numbers) ones leverage over you. Not to mention you'll be in greater trouble (at lease it's the case in Aus) if you get a drug conviction and were working as a bouncer at the time. and additionally not to mention, if one of the crew I worked with was accepting money from them, and then someone else in the crew got hurt when one of the 'official' dealers fucked up (as they inevitably will) and was thrown out and then the ones getting them out are descended upon by a big crew of them not knowing who to look out for) well the person in the crew that was taking the bribes would be the one taken to task for the other person on the crew getting hurt and it wouldn't go well for them.
As for war stories, sure I've got a few, some of which included known criminals here and there (but Melbourne isn't a big palce so that's not really saying that much) and a few injuries - including permanent brain damage (incased anyone is wondering what drew me to getbig forums in the first place :) ) that thankfully doesn't have any impact on me of any significant degree (mostly my memory and in particular the way I process/remember/recall some visual images and colours) If anyone is considering doing it, try and avoid places that are supplied staff from a private company unless they have those staff on at that venue permanently and aren't constantly putting new/different people in there. Otherwise they never get to know the crowd and there will tend to be more dramas there in general as they don't build any rapport with the patrons. Most people are creatures of habit and tend to stick with regular venues (over time they come and go but tend to stick around for some time at least) and knowing them means they are actually far less likely to screw up there . And on the same topic, also get areally good 'take' or read or assessment (call it what you will) on the quality of the crew that works there. The right group of blokes will likely save your life and working with the wrong bunch can potentially cost you your life.
-
Very solid post from nobody in particular.
I would add that the reason bartenders do better than bouncers with the women is that part of a bartender's job is to interact with the people whereas a bouncer pretty much just stands around and looks for trouble.
I would also add that if you ever get an offer to work a black party, as either a bartender or a bouncer, don't take it.
It's not worth it.
They're are nasty, cheap, and the probability of violence is way higher.
At a place where I bartended, they had a Korean singles night. Everyone was cool and I made a lot of money in tips. The next week they had a birthday party for some ghetto rat. It was one of the worst experiences of my life.
Sorry, it's the truth.

About the drug thing. Every club I worked had guys we knew to leave alone. Usually there were a group of 2-4 per night. 1 or 2 guys would hold the money and 1-3 guys would hold the drugs. So if they got busted, they were never caught with drugs and money at the same time. It was never mentioned "officially" why, in case they got busted and we had to testify, but you figured it out anyways. Besides most the places I was were techno clubs where most people were on club drugs and not drinking... And if SD Vice showed up we knew to let certain people know so they could leave.
-
A place I worked at had a weed dealer who was always hanging out. One of his customers was the comedian Dave Chapelle. The dealer was always bitching to me about how Dave always owed him money.
When Chapelle got that multi million dollar Comedy Central deal, the first thing I wondered was whether he would finally pay his weed bill.

The idiot manager booked another black party. I didn't want to work it, but he essentially begged me and I ended up being a good soldier. The waitresses there were all white coeds and wannabe actresses. I warned them it was going to be a nightmare and that they would be treated like shit and make no money. They were shocked that I could say something so politically incorrect, but by the end of the night they all told me how right I was.
I remember the manager had ordered a very wide variety of liquor: vodka, whiskey, gin, tequila etc. I told him it was a mistake and that all he needed to order was Hennessey.
About an hour into the party we were out of Hennessey and the manager had to go to another club and borrow some. At one point, I poured a bottle of cheap Brandy into an empty Hennessey bottle and served it to them. They didn't know the difference.
It's been a while since I worked in the industry but the stories are starting to come back.

You dumbfuck. You take everything I've done in my life and twist it around like a woman does and say I claim to do it all at the same time.
Maybe you're just fucking autistic. From your picture you actually do look up tistic with that big ass fucking forehead on that tiny little skull of yours with those tiny little eyes that are way too close together and cross-eyed you actually do look autistic or you have Asperger's Syndrome... maybe that's what you actually fucking believe that when I say I work the door and then I say I was personal training and working at a gym and running the gym from 5 a.m. till midnight and when I went to rehab and I ran a fundraising office for non-profit charities that your dumbass actually believes that I was doing all these things at the very same time. Is that it? You dumb mother fucker. I kind of think that is it I kind of think you really are that fucking dumb because I don't think you're dumb enough to believe people will believe your bullshit by claiming that I'm claiming I did all this shit at the same time you stupid mother fucker. I'm fucking amazed that the government in England allows adults with autism to have children... I know your kids are fucking autistic but I never actually considered the possibility that you had autism. Everything makes sense now

Black clubs almost invariably have a woman on the security staff. Why? So they have someone to frisk the women coming in.
Awhile ago, I went to see a band at a NYC club called Terminal Five. As we got close to the entrance. I noticed that the security staff was frisking people. I wasn't surprised but my girlfriend at the time was shocked. She had never gone through anything like that at a concert. I explained to her that the club hosted a lot of black shows and they didn't want to appear racist by not frisking people at a predominately white show, even though it was obviously unnecessary.

Everything makes sense now
Why you insulting the man's kids?
Seems he's at least raising his, as any real dad would. How about you, though? Any idea where yours are or who's raising 'em?

He's raising his kids while he's locked in his closet with his computer 100% of the time he's home and when he's not home he's bringing in a poverty level £19k a yr. Lol. .. And I know exactly where my kids are, were,& will be.

No credit for that?

Been bouncing for 5 years in the 2000 in a big club in the north of France.
I realised that absolutely all women are whore, but the rest of the time they just hid it because of the social pressure and the "what ppl are gonna said about me".
Because when the light is out and they are around stranger their whorish part of their personnality takes control. And remember it was the pre-smartphone social network era.

out of interest - which venue?
Great stuff. I'd hate to deal with the criminal element and the constant flux as to what to do about them operating (I guess nothing).
When I read the other fella talking about stopping the smaller dealers, I thought, what if you fuck up and a small dealer is not a small dealer? Seems a bad idea to perpetrate much on someone who knows where you'll be standing all the time.

I think most men (including this man) consider a woman displaying openly, her thirst for sexual contact as being a "whore".

You got that right. No matter how big and bad you are, if you're standing stationary in front of a door you're in an extremely vulnerable position.

Having worked in the industry for 30+ yrs
In various positions
It can be great fun & enjoyable
To the absolute opposite
Where it ruins lives or costs some their lives
Everything is there in excess
Women
Drugs
Drink
Violence
Criminals
Gangs
Guns / knives
Love
Hate
Etc
It's largely what you make of it & how you deal with all of it.
Many many stories to bore you with both good & bad.
Perhaps all the security lads on here we should write a book.
Make for one hell of a read.

When I was in the industry I used to go to sleep at 5 AM. Now, I wake up at that time.

And of course a popular one round these parts:

Hi
It was called the Tongue and Groove, not far from Acland street I believe. Only started bouncing on the side when I was at University in 2007 or so and before I started working full time. Barely have time to do a shift now as I'm working FT and studying part-time, but will occasionally work at easy venues like Forum Theater or Moonee Valley.
Having a good crew behind you is definately one of the most important aspects. Luckily I never got hit while working as drunk patrons were mainly focused on hurting each other.
Spot on with the comment about women approaching. It was very easy to get introduced, but the quality wasn't always the greatest. Came across some absolute MILFS trying to relive their glory days.

At a black party I worked, one guy was wearing one of those ridiculous shiny suits (see below). This was during the era when puff daddy was at the peak of his powers.
As shiny suit guy was walking across the dance floor, one guy bumped into another guy who spilled some of his drink on shiny suit guy. I thought it was an improvement, but apparently shiny suit guy felt that a large stain on his suit compromised his appearance. The look on his face was priceless as he yelled "Damn!" The guy who spilled the drink didn't even acknowledge it, so, I thought something was going to go down, but shiny suit guy ended up being all show and no go and took it like a bitch.

You realize pretty quickly that drunk adults are no different from kids. You don't argue with them. You don't reason with them. You just tell them what to do and if they don't listen you drag them away.

It's interesting to be on the gold coast and just kind of seeing bikies (bikers) openly running clubs. Did that happen in melbourne?
I've been out of the industry a few years, but from the time I started (around 1990) to 2011 I can't say I ever worked at a venue that was run - either officially or unofficially by bikies. Things in the gold coast (and so I'm lead to believe Adelaide and possibly one or two places in Perth) are a bit different.
I have worked at a couple of venues that were run by guys obviously into crime and it would seem they were laundering money. They were smart enough (if you can call anyone running a nightclub smart) not to deal on the premises. There were probably people there selling their gear, but not in any official capacity, they just happened to be down the food chain of that particular group. Which was a smarter move, no official involvement, and nobody getting around as a protected species (which is just screaming out to be investigated/closed down).
When ecstacy first hit the scene big time in the early 90s we all thought things were changing forever. Hard blokes were acting like innocent kids on the stuff, and not causing dramas (actually on that note, the book 'muscle' by carlton leach - the real guy who was somewhat fictionalised in 'rise of the footsoldier' - details that, and most of it parallels what I saw in Melbourne).
Back then the clubs that had the most drugs actually had the least amount of trouble, and the venues where they were huge drinkers tended to have the most. It was partly the nature of the drugs, but also the rave scene itself.
Probably my favourite clubs were the goth clubs. No dramas (as long as you did the door right and didn't let in any people that were just there to gawk like looking at animals at the zoo) and girls in goth clothes/makeup look pretty bloody hot, and I also tended to have by far the most interesting/intelligent conversations with girls (and just people in general) there.
Gay clubs (I worked a few, more gay dance parties than regular club gigs) were also very seldom the scene for trouble, and if someone took too much gear the rest of their friends typically would be right there to help them out and make sure it was all ok. Probably the easiest money to be made in the industry, and again all that was needed was to do the door right and make sure you weren't letting in people that couldn't handle that scene/group of people.
Question should be who and why would anyone want to be a low wage Bouncer.
When I started (as a wide eyed kid) I was approached by the manager of a club who knew me. The regular guys had left and the guys working there weren't doing to well with it. He put on the charm and said 'hey XXXX when are you going to come and work for us'. And as a young man I thought, hey it'd be like going out and getting paid for it.... How wrong I was :) . There's definitely some fun to be had at most clubs, but it is also boring a lot of the time, and a little risky. On the low wage thing, most are likely low paid, but if you are either the right look or alternatively know how to handle yourself (both physically but far more importantly verbally) you can get better money. Probably the big thing that held me back was seriously that I look like I just got out of an asylum. I'm not kidding when I say I'm fairly ugly. But I was big enough (never looked like a bodybuilder, though I would have if I could, just don't have the genetics, but carried enough size and was pretty strong - at best I probably looked like a slightly smaller version of westside era Mark Bell in size/condition but I hasten to add I was nowhere near his strength level!) and had imho well above average communication skills, and that got me across the line.
Aside from the money being potentially ok-ish - a lot of the time it is cash in hand (so I'm told :) ) so you can do it as a second job and not have a yuge tax hit.
When I was between jobs I did work several shifts per week, but predominantly I did weekends and worked another 'regular' job during the week. I'd hate to be even thinking about doing it full time now.

mooney valley :) - if you ever share a hookup story from there remember I'm from melbourne and know what kind of crowd that is :)
