Unlike some people, my political ideas can evolve as new information is presented.
In brief, my wife and I don't feel we have a political party that represents us.
For example, we don't agree with Trump's current "zero tolerance" policy on immigration.
BUT, after reading and listening to liberal dems, we don't agree with a lot of their immigration ideas.
Thus, we won't be attending and showing support for the protest on Trump's immigration plan.
We were outraged at Trump's enforced polciy that separated children from parents at the border.
BUT, we don't think "open borders" is the way to go either.
We also see a hostile political atmosphere where nutballs on both sides act out in violent ways.
I was disguted by the mob that yelled at our DHS sec while eating in a restuarant.
We desperately need civility now in our political discourse.
Therefor, my wife I will refrain from joining a protesting mob in the street on June 30th.
Far better to promote YOUR candidates to win via votes at the ballot box.

By my own choice, I spent far too much time on this forum.
C'mon now, most of the regular posters are Trump supporters.
They never wanted to hear from a "never Trumper" like me.
In your b-ball analogy, you infer I was guilty of flipping off everyone and being an obnoxious asshole.
At least , I try to be funny or polite. Compare that to the steady stream or insults and ridicule directed to me.
I know my views but unlike some go out of my way to seek out alternate opinions.
I did learn a few insights, but the tribal bias drowned out the dialogue.
The Trumpers scream at the liberals and vice-versa. Thus, nobody is listening .

I opted to go from a lengthy post to a much briefer one.
So, I edited it down to the bare minimum and left it at that.
I was never a mod and can only delete/edit my own posts ( like everyone else).
It was interesting to interact with different political views.
Ya know, I've been active on getbig since it started almost 20 years ago.
I've met Ron a few times at contests and interacted with him, but it's been years since we last spoke.
He's a good man and I won't bother him with this silly issue.
I've only met 4 getbiggers in 19 yrs ,so I have no idea who most posters really are.
I can't be too offended by those I'll never meet or even talk to.
It's gotten too annoying (for me) to have meaningful political debate at this point.
That's life on any forum LOL. I leave the politics board with no hard feelings .
Thanks to all of you who tried to have some meaningful debate or posted funny stuff.
Lastly, I'm predicting the dems will win back the house in 2018 and Trump will resign before his full term in office.
