Brandon Curry is back in the top 10. Congrats to him. I guess his time with the "Camel Crew" paid off.

Philsulin is slipping further and further into Palumboism. His best days are past. Doesn't mean they won't keep giving it to him though. In my mind, Samir's one win is more impressive than Phil's seven.
-
Granted the USC/Texas game was a nail biter but this was a good side show.
-
The repeated winners at the O is boring reason why I haven't followed the O like I used to in over a decade, just look up the results and move on
If the O had deserving and different winners each year it'll make it more interesting like others have said
Phil winning 7 times, Ronnie with 8, is boring and non deserving
-
On par with Arnold, now time to tie lee and Ronnie then surpass them to become the GOAT.
-
Honestly, who the fuck cares. It's not like bodybuilding is a thing any more. It's just bullshit now. Philsulin is slipping further and further into Palumboism. His best days are past. Doesn't mean they won't keep giving it to him though. In my mind, Samir's one win is more impressive than Phil's seven.
It's a joke. Its not a contest, Phil will win while everyone battles for second....
-
You need a GUT to win!
-
1. Phil or Dexter
2. Phil or Dexter
3. Bonac
4. Ramy (no higher) he was smooth.

We had different winners in the mid/late 2000s And early 2010s; yet people complained about that, not having a "dominant" champion.
Cutler, Jackson, Cutler, Heath.
-
...And people are wondering why Kai gave up hope and stopped competing at the Olympia...Same thing is happening again. No matter how Ramy looks and no matter how shitty Phil looks they'll always give it to Phil. Ramy will always be screwed because he is arab/muslim. The message is clear: IFBB will give Phil his 10 Olympias.
-

Cutler, Jackson, Cutler, Heath.
I remember and I think that was great
Now it's back to 5+ titles of the same person even if they aren't deserving
Been way more exciting in the 90's if Shawn, flex, Kevin, all won at least one
-
Heaths stomach looked like shit in the pics I saw on here. Is the consensus that ramy was better? I thought he beat heath in every shot I saw.
-

Heath wins in side tricep, back double bicep, and possibly ab and thigh but honestly idk. Ramy wins in front lat spread, back lat spread, side chest, front double bicep (I think Phil looks retarded in fdb, he flexes his abs and hunches over, but idk what the judges think)

Agreed and if any of those guys (the top 15 of any 90's competition) were to show up today in the prime 90's shape, they would have taken the Sandow easily. The sport has been a disgrace since at least the mid 2000's (2005 or so).
-
Cedric is a disappointment.
If he reads this, what gives? He could have been top 3. He needs to sit down and really think about this. Does he want to be a winner or an "also ran"?

Phil had a growth coming out of his already bloated midsection- being "smooth" pales in comparison

anyone else think about how theres only one white guy competing this year?
the two other great White hopes to forefit due to "health" reasons :-\

What a fucking joke
This is the worst Phil has looked in years
He truly has gotten more narrow and lost shoulder size
His chest has not improved
His gut was the worst ever
His belly button was disgusting
I didn't even have to read the results to know they were gonna gift him again
The ifbb is just a train wreck joke

You are simply wrong my friend. Arnold should be proud to share the record with the Champ. He isn't called The Gifted for nothing.
Onwards to the eighth title!

Milos, Chad, Aceto on Mr.O
-
I did not think he won the prejudging in 2015 and I was there in Vegas. Same thing this year but I always think people should be marked down for being bloated. Rhoden did not deserve his placing either. It's crap how you get gifted based on name and legacy.

What a f*****g disgrace to the sport and insult to Arnold. The message from IFBB is clear: If Phil looks like total shit and still wins with "perfect score" they'll always give it to him no metter how he looks as long as he just turn up and compete. Brave yourself for 10 Olympias to "the Gifted" guys. The scenario is to make him The Greatest. They put Ramy in 2-nd just to create more interest and hype for next year. Never gonna give it to him,he'll be Kai N 2.These are the worst years in IFBB history.

This is turning into female bodybuilding 2.0. Next thing you'll know Phil will have 10 wins and nobody will care.
When I was there in 2015 people booed the decision and a large group of people got up and walked out.
What is phil Doing as Mr Olympia by arguing with fans on social media and having his fiancée troll social media platforms to also argue with others. Both are extremely immature and insecure and make poor ambassadors for bodybuilding.

Dorian Yates had the same issues, about which people here are blubbering regarding Phil Heath. Dorian was "bloofy" (see 1994); Dorian had a bloated stomach (1994, 1996, 1997); Dorian had a torn bicep (1994).
Yet, let some here tell it, he's the greatest thing since creatine.

Phil Heath: unanimous 1st
Dexter Jackson: unanimous 4th
Josh Lenartowicz: unanimous 9th
Cedric McMillan: unanimous 10th??? ...that's interesting.
Look how close it was between Bonac (3rd) and Ramy (2nd)--only 2 points apart in the final tally.
A mere 2 points also separated Rhoden (5th) and Winklaar (6th).

-
These 3 guys have very different looks. They have 3 entirely different builds. There is no confusing one for another other at all.
A lot of old time bodybuilding fans often say that Larry, Sergio, Arnold, and Franco had different looks. But "now days, everyone looks the same".
Well that is not the case this year.
-

Totally agree. Dorian was great in 1992, 1993, and 1995. People everywhere were bitching about his arm, his waist, his lack of detail in his thighs the other years especially 1994 and 1997. Now, the history revisionists act like his reign was without precedent. Dorian retired because he knew that in 1998 he would not have won against emerging competition in 1998. Ronnie Coleman the same. In 2004 and 2005 he was a shell of his former self. He probably should have called it quits after 2005 as the writing was on the wall that Jay was going to take over. Phil better get the gut under control because Bonac, Jackson, and a tight Ramy can beat him.
-
True, but this was one of the most forgettable olympias in recent memory. Nice to see dexter hanging in the top 5, though.
-
together with classic physique and mens physique we got every body type represented
-
Cedric must be heated. Arnold likes his physique, uses it as an example. Wins the Arnold, and then watches Phil match Arnold for Mr. O wins, while he (Cedric) gets tenth place, behind people he is clearly better than, but who have better conditioning.
-
He got a DNP
What happened?Compared to competition, Yates had superior structure and was the biggest man on stage - that's what Cheath will never have.
Phil has a good structure when he is 215-230ish, after that he loses it. Then his weaknesses show,
Also, he does the FLS and FDB poses in an awkward manner.
-

2008 Iron Man was one of his best overall showings IMO.....

I'm assuming he looked like shit. I didn't watch the webcast, fell asleep before it even started.

$400K for looking like that? ???
What a pathetic, fucking joke this contest is. The judges are not judging, they are playing politics. Just a clown show now. Most of the competitors looked like shit.
As I wrote elsewhere, I think it really doesn't matter what anybody looks like in the Olympia. What matters is who Jim Manion and Steve Weinberger want for Mr Olympia. If they wanted Johnnie Jackson to be Mr. Olympia they would've fudge the judging scores and come up with a rationale for his win.
But I think what do they like about Heath?
First, he's a defending champion. Last night both Buendia and Lewis, defending champions, repeated their wins. It looks like Manion and his crew like to be conservative, they like their previous choices, guys they know, and don't want to take risks with someone new. Hester and Classic last night were the exception.
Second, they want an American. Correct me if I'm wrong but in the whole history of the Olympia the only non-American Mr Olympia was Dorian Yates, although I'm not sure if you would qualify Samir Bannout as being American or not.
Third, maybe it has something to do with the nutrition company sponsors. For example, Heath is with Ultimate Nutrition and I'm not sure who Ramy is with but it was GAT. Since these companies also sponsor contests, possibly they are using their "muscle" to influence Manion and Weinberger. Maybe money under the table?
Lastly, and most importantly, I thought they want somebody with some charisma, some public appeal, somebody wholesome. You could call it marketability. Or some call it being an 'ambassador' for the sport. In their dreams they really want another Arnold, somebody who could be attractive to the mainstream public and bring them into bodybuilding. I think about Cutler beating Coleman. At that time Cutler sure had a lot more marketability than Coleman. When you look at last nights top ten, none can quite meet the marketability factor as good as Heath. McMillan is a possibility, but he's not as wholesome as Heath. My bet is they had high hopes for McCarver. He had lots of marketability.

Show sponsors do have a lot of influence on the results, I personally spoke to a show sponsor (supplement company owner)in the UK who said one of his sponsored athletes placed 2nd when he shouldn't even have been fifth.
Im personally not going to compete with an organisation again because of this influence, Im not dieting and training for 16 weeks to get shit on because Im not sponsored by a certain supplement company.

At least Dorian was wide, had the best back in history, trained and behaved like a proper man and is a humble down to Earth guy.

And Samir won back in 1983 before Manion and Weinberger had the powers they have now. So that leaves us with only Dorian as a non American Mr.Olympia in the open since then.

And Dorian stayed with Weinberger as a guest in his home in the weeks up to the Olympia each year. Think about that. The head judge hosting an athlete in his own home. No corruption there at all. 🙄

Good watch

Great vid
Good seeing Ronnie Coolguy so political as well! :D
-
anyone else think about how theres only one white guy competing this year?
the two other great White hopes to forefit due to "health" reasons :-\
Maybe the "white guys", just didn't measure up. But yeah, I noticed.
-
You are simply wrong my friend. Arnold should be proud to share the record with the Champ. He isn't called The Gifted for nothing.
Onwards to the eighth title!
:-X

Excatly why I stopped BBing....
Well that and the walking chemistry experiments so many have become.

Yes!!!! Thank you! No one seems to "get" this............. I watched a video on YouTube where Kai "confronts" Weinberger over his Olympia placings, and Weinberger and George Farrah just respond with the most moronic shit ever - at one point Kai turns too the camera and lifts his eyebrows in a clear show of disbelief at their bullshit.
We blame Phil - he just makes it almost too easy to hate on him, but really it's Steve that we should be slamming on social media and taking to task for destroying the sport.

Jezus... maybe Ramy should go spend a week at Weinberger's house before the Olympia.
The issue is bodybuilding is getting too big for this kind of crap. Presently, there's no accountability, no transparency.
-
Brandon Curry is back in the top 10. Congrats to him. I guess his time with the "Camel Crew" paid off.
He should have been ahead of Rhoden and Winklaar.
-
this really is a low point for bodybuilding . . .
-
Good watch
The results of the contest make a lot more sense when you hear this kind of analysis. Much better than those watching on video and complaining that they think they know better.
Cliche, but if you've never seen a live pro show, you won't understand.
