I'm kinda tired of listening to him grant you it's amazing what he accomplished in the shit shape he looks. Volkan looks like a serious threat and the heavyweight nagannou is by means a sure bet I thought about it

ngannou and stipe is a tougher pick... stipe should be able to avoid him and take him down but ngannou might be too strong and stipe too stupid so he thinks he gonna trade shots with him, even if ngannou slightly touches him it will be enough i suspect so ngannou by ko 2nd round

Ngannou... I think the UFC is trying to make up for the nunes/Rousey fiasco by pushing the "stipe is probably going to win" narrative at the last second.
The only weakness I've seen in Francis so far is he gets sloppy when opponents get in close. Other than that he's faster, stronger, and looks more skilled than stipe, to me. Just look at their fights vs overeem and based on that... Tell me who you think will win ???
People are saying stipe has beat so many big names but... He beat them past their prime.
I have a feeling volkan is going to win. DC is acting a bit delusional.

Stipe fought in great fashion. Ngannou connected a good number of times, but couldn't put Stipe away.
Excellent strategy on Stipe's part, making Ngannou wear him like a backpack for 4 rounds while softening up that meat.
Anyone else think the UFC hype train behind Ngannou got out of hand? Dana White was riding those nuts similar to the way he would with the likes of Rousey and McGregor.

no, if anything every major UFC mouthpiece was singing stipe's praises like they were trying to make up for nunes rousey. just listen to dan hardy's inside the octagon feature on stipe vs. ngannou or anything joe rogan's been blathering about the past few months.
apart from dana's hilariously awkward "ford focus going at full speed comment" (which is another mark of WME's bullshit), i didn't see anything too egregious. i think they learned their lesson a bit after rousey.
on another note, when was the last time you saw someone gas so completely in round 1 and still survive? at heavyweight? i think some of those shots hurt stipe bad.

Great strategy by Stipe but I can't help feeling that he could have put Ngannou away in the later rounds. Ngannou was definitely on the UFC hype train and needs to drop some weight because all that muscle can only go so far. Not sure how he passes the drug tests.

When Aaron was at the school where I coached at where I worked on his Strength and conditioning for two years. His stand up coach was apart of our team with Kongo (Antonio McKee). I still keep in close contact with all of them.

but we've seen that before in fighters who have a lot of muscle and put a lot of power into their shots, tyron woodly used to have a little bit of a problem with that, now he knows how to regulate it better

maybe stipe has a really great chin, maybe one of those shots he took would've knocked down quite a few other heavyweights and then it would've been over because no referee is going to allow ngannou going after someone to the floor and ground n pound... one hammer fist and it's over, whether it connects or not

I think ngannou missed a handful of knockout shots by centimeters in round 1... Even the one shot he connected with in round 2 had stipe scrambling like crazy.
And unlike some fighters who are completely dead when they gas, you could tell he still had knockout power. Even when he could barely stand up straight, and threw only one or two punches in the round, those punches still had heat and kept stipe cautious.
I wouldn't count him out in a rematch. This seems like a 50/50 fight to me.

It’s not about respect. It’s about putting eyes in front of the PPV screen. At the end of the day, it’s still a business. Stipe is an outstanding fighter but is not that big of a draw. More people were interested in this fight because of his opponent. Same deal with Cormier. That’s why he only headlines PPV events against Jones.

Hwt div hasn't really been entertaining since drug testing came in, and it used to be the biggest draw. Saw this coming years ago, saying we were gonna end up having all the smaller divs fill up and we'll end up watching a bunch of 155-170lb avg guys fight.

I would expect about the same result unless Stipe just "got old" during the fight. I think he is like 35 so that's a possibility.
Stipe won 50-44 on all 3 judges scorecards. That's just a dominant ass whippin.
He fought smart. He fought like a champ. Played to his strengths as he stated in the post fight interview.
It would be more of the same in the second fight. Avoid the big shots. Take him to the ground. Wear him down. Grind out a decision or possibly knock him out in the later rounds.

Anyways both Dana and Joe admitted he is the UFC greatest heavyweight ever.
Both guys before the fight where hyping Ngannou as mentioned before for marketability reasons but it backfired on them when Stipe won and where forced to eat their words. ;D
