Post by: chuckles on February 01, 2018, 08:23:18 AM

Even the bodybuilding champs with lagging lower bodies still have huge legs compared to the average trainee.  Working legs is definitely important to overall mass.  Especially for naturals.

If you were to stop doing upper body for awhile and just squatted, you would lose little if any size on your upper body

Yes.  Throw in deadlifts for back as well.  Sure, there are guys that can get thick without either, but most people that say they aren't needed are simply too lazy to perform either one.  The thickest guys at any gym I've ever gone to have always been the ones squatting and deadlifting.

I'm in my 40's, unemployed, living with my mother, receiving benefits and legally required to see a psychiatrist but look at this 16" arm.

All of the "so-called champions" of today have leg mass that far exceeds the leg Mass of guys from 20 -30 years ago.

Even the guy who places top5 at Pro qualifiers these days Havelock mass that exceeds guys from 20 or 30 years ago

they don't squat...
That's because they don't train as hard as guys 30 years ago.

why would squatting be any different than any other exercise for building legs?
Your muscles don't know you are squatting, they just respond to stimulus.

Correct & the Full Body stimulus from Squats is second to none. The amount of stimulus is the important factor. If i am doing cardio, which is better cycling or running with my full body weight? in most cases the exercise which utilizes my full body weight. Leg press will never train the volume of muscles as squats or the stimulus.
