Imo, this is the best he ever looked, combining insane condition with size and this was 7 years after his Mr. Olympia win.

Good find. That's an amazing chest.
-
wasn't this the pittsburg grand prix show that he won?
-
No that show was in Australia.
-
One of the best ever. That's the sort of look that should be rewarded.
-
pretty wide waist, but overall .. great condition

He's got the shoulder & back width for it not to detract from his physique

damn he was in really good shape that year. But a little too heavy in my opinion. he looked slightly better in 83.
-
This was the NABBA PRO UNIVERSE. I believe the Charles Clairemont won it. Also the great Gary Lewer competed thatcyear too. While this is Samirs best shape post 1983....his waist is still way wider and blockier than in 83. Samir in 83 is still better than this 90 show...IMO. The 1983 Olympia version of Samir...is...IMO....the greatest Mr. Olympia body ever in the history of the O.

Those pics might be from the 1985 WABBA World Championships that he won the year after he lost the Olympia to Haney. Samir never competed in the NABBA Universe. I just did a bunch of podcast interviews about the NABBA Universe history on my BodybuildingLegendsShow. com and Samir didn't compete against Clairmonte in any of those shows.

You post these pics once every few months.

Samir Bannout should have already won his first Mr. O title in 1982.
-

We will never see a physique of such qualities/condition on the Olympia stage ever again. At least not on he open class.
-
How old was he here? I remember in 03 or something he tried a comeback, and looked like shit for stepping on a pro stage.

Wrong

Absolutely. Casey was good but too blocky, and if memory serves, Platz had a badly torn biceps that year.
-
Wrong
Try again
start a thread with a new pic, I dare you ;)
-
bannout was a volvo... kinda boxy, but good
-
Samir had near perfect shape. But I agree. His only structural flaw was having a short torso, which made him look that way.
-
any pics of his 03 comeback? i don't remember that.
-

:o

Like all the classic bodybuilders, he bench pressed which gave him that kind of chest. Old school baby.
-

Thought i had seen that build before
;D

This is what top level professional bodybuilding should look like. Bannout had perfect symmetry and the right sized legs...not the deformed watermelon legs the chemical queens have today. Also had world class conditioning.
-
Uh huh
Pretty wide
Whoa is me lulz
Does it suck to have no abs and wide hips?
-
I remember Samir said year ago that his 1982 condition was better than in 1983.
-

And no pecs, no arms, no traps, and so forth...
He looks like your average meth addict.

Hahahahha haha
-
Hahahahha haha
exactly.. an arm like a 12 year old, bearing in mind how lean you claim to be that arm is pathetically smooth
-
perfect example of whats wrong with getbig. post is about samir. BUT you idiots have to start talking about each other and going way off topic. you all should be banned just because your stupid at the very least.
-
I remember Samir said year ago that his 1982 condition was better than in 1983.
I think his weight for the '82 Olympia was about 188 and he was around 194 for his win in '83.

"your stupid" the jokes write themselves
-
I wonder why Samir couldnt pull it together no other years than 83? He was a very wellbalanced bb. Maybe he couldnt get a hold of some tren or something like that?
-
he pissed off the ifbb by competing in the wbba right after winning the O. he would never get a fair shake again no matter what he looked like. After 83 he often looked just a tad too smooth which didn't help.
-
If you win the olympia, you're not "underrated".
You've been recognized as the best bodybuilder on the planet for that year.
As for the constant threads about underrated bodybuilders............ ::) ::) ::) ::)

Wrong. They are from 1990 and yes he did compete at the NAABA Universe.

Thanks for keeping track ;-)

Samir Bannout should have already won his first Mr. O title in 1982.
Casey Viator should have won it in 1982 8)
-

The NABBA World Championships, not the NABBA Universe. The 1990 NABBA Mr. Universe - Pro division was won by Charles Clairmonte with Victor Terra in 2nd place. Samir never entered the NABBA Mr. Universe.
-

I agree 100% although those bottom 2 pics are not from the 82 O.
-
an in shape Bannout was pretty much perfect. Hamstrings were his only weakness
-
There was a video not to long ago on Rx muscle.
There was Sammir and other guests.
Anyways he sees no bouble guts and no problems with current bb.
How is that possible? :-X >:(
-

Yeah, but in 1990 he didn't look smooth at all. He did something right for that competition big time. Had he shown up like that at the Mr. Olympia in 1990 he would/should have placed high.
-

Samir didn't compete in the WABBA World Championships until after he lost the Olympia to Haney in '84. Samir competed in WABBA the next year in 1985 because he was pissed he dropped down to 6th in the '84 Olympia after winning it in '83. He stayed out of the IFBB from '85 until he came back in 1988.

[ Q ] You were also suspended by the IFBB in 1984. Could you elaborate on this?
dot
[ Samir ] Yeah I got suspended. You know sometimes I don't keep my mouth shut. Sometimes I just don't like people ordering me around when they are wrong. So I speak out and when you speak out, sometimes that causes problems. I had a problem with a promoter in England who was very pushy with me.
If you get to know me, you will find out better though. Because I love people, I love peace and I love sweet talking people (talking nice to them). And if somebody respects you, you respect them twice as much. This is my philosophy.
If someone is pushy with you and you didn't do anything wrong you don't have to react, but unfortunately on this occasion I had an untimely problem and I was treated terribly, so that's why the response was really bad. It's not that I'm proud of this and I do look back and think I should have handled it a little bit better. But I can say it was not my fault and I was provoked. And my response was a little bit more than I was supposed to do and that landed me in suspension (laughs).
[ Q ] When you did return to the IFBB were your placements compromised by your actions on the day that led to your suspension?
dot
[ Samir ] I do feel I was cheated a lot in the IFBB. I was cheated a lot because of my actions. When I deserved third they gave me fifth, when I deserved second they gave me fourth. It is very unfortunate. Some people in the IFBB I have had problems with but I don't want to go too much into this. Ben Weider is fine though. Joe Weider is the Godfather of bodybuilding and I got along with him real well. We had a couple of disagreements, but I saw him recently and we hugged.
But we do have a couple of issues and it is very unfortunate but I hold no hard feelings. I love the sport, I love the organization (the IFBB) and what's done is done. Peace and harmony is my way of life. I just wish they would treat the athletes a little bit better and I would just love to see the sport grow in the right way. Things happen and people get suspended. People get into complications and it happens to the best of us.
