Fasting was hard for me the first couple of days but now it's easy.  I do it 2 to 3 days a week.

Never fast on purpose. Some times I got so busy with work I forget to eat until dinner time, or I start crashing.

Yeah but when the economy takes a down turn they will have time too fast.

And someone should be thanking Wiggs, as he brought this idea here first.

different types of fasting

some are like you dont eat for 12 hours. with 8 hours of sleep thats just 4 hours of waking hours you dont eat

but having nothing, zero, for 1 day or more... i wouldnt wanna do that.

not even the muslims do that. they fast for 30 days but eat after sunset

the economy will never slow , do u realise how many people have a decent amount of cash, especially land developers who lobby with the city to build more housing?

I was doing intermittent fasting years ago without even knowing it

I just hated having any food in my stomach when I worked out and at that time I was lifting mid to late morning

Also didn't take any pre or peri workout drink at that time

I recently started doing this again and really like it

My last food is no later than 8 pm and I do half a serving of Plasma (Biotest) about 11:30AM and I'm at the gym by 12 most days.

Just started reading this book which talks a lot about intermittent fasting along with other topics

I just did a 40+hr fast. Gonna keep working my way up to 72.

Key is staying busy and somehow getting to sleep.

what are the benefits of fasting for 24-72 hours?
Title: Re: Fasting

Since the beginning of 2017 I've been doing 4-5 days a week fasting with an eating window of 1800-2200 (normally 2 meals within that time usually lowish carbs by default, but focus on getting nutrient dense food in over strict low carbs). The other days I focus on loading carbs and having a little of what I fancy, eating as frequently as I like, but normally 3-4 meals. Main benefit for me is the mental clarity/mood boosting aspect.

You also focus your attention on more important things than eating every 2-3 hours; people think you'll shrink to nothing if you don't eat 8 meals a day. I'm 5'11 high 220lbs so it's very easy to hold, even gain size whilst doing it too.

that seems do-able.

its the going for days without any food at all, that sounds extreme IMO

8 weeks of intermittent fasting lowered testosterone by 25% and IGF1 by 15% in this study:

Carb-based diet though. Go carnivore!  ;D

This study shows that the higher protein in the diet, and the higher protein to carb ratio, the lower the testosterone.

Still a carb-based diet according to table 2 not carnivore or keto, which should make a difference.

The first 12-18 hours are the most difficult.  After that, you stop getting hungry and can go on for a long time

36hours is the ideal fast .. 48 and upwards is difficult to manage
