The below photo is credited to, I assume our very own, Vince Basile. Perhaps Vince B can enlighten us with details of the photo.

It's interesting that you could tell everyone's physique apart back then even without seeing their faces, in contrast to today when most of them look like bloated clones of each other.
Back row (L-R): Tony Emmott, Ken Waller, Roy Duval (Ed Corney right behind him), Dennis Tinerino.

Its because we grew up with bodybuilding in that era. I would assume it will be the same for this generation of bodybuilding fans when today bodybuilders get older. Does that make sense?

Yeah. You may be right.

Its well known that of course it is our Vince B. Does anyone know anything about iron game history around here?

That's easy because back in the days Bodybuilding was an art. They all worked out hard and kept a diet going as well.
Looks was everything at least most of the time.
Once Growth and Insulin came in the game plan it changed everything to the worst.
Great picture by the way!

hgh and insulin ruined the sport.i really believe that is what led to guys getting over 230 and up . flex wheeler looked his best at 215 to 220 after that it was all down hill for him
-
There's no navy sky, so this can't be a Basile production

Oh yes! Just look at the difference from then and now. Flex looked so good at that weight.(One of the greatest physique's ever) I think all the way up to Lee Haney they had that athletic healthy look. It actually looked good and you were able to keep a job!!
Today's bodybuilder weighing 340 lbs (Ramy)and all the Insulin they just couldn't do it. lol
That alone is a crazy thought.

The 1993 version of flex wheeler to me was the most pleasing prophysique ever to set foot on the stage in the past 27 years Ramy is just a big oil filled goat fucking Muslim turd and a giant glazed donut

So many in shape guys for this contest.

The low test, high anabolics look
-
Here is an edit of one of the photos where I removed distracting background and also placed the bodybuilders closer together.
All 'artistic freedom', nothing gay about that...
-
The low test, high anabolics look
Bingo
-
With his outstanding calves and back the standing relax pose from the back is the only pose I think Chris Dickerson looks good in. Both he and Zane crush Arnold in that shot.

Really?
I thought they'd always still be using a high amount of test?

Dickerson will be honored this year at the yearly AOBS dinner, D-Mass and I will be going again. (Dave knows Chris fairly well from competing days).

Dickerson looked great from the back (no homo)
-
I recall reading on another board ( cant recall which one ) that Vince was buddies with Perry and Mable Reader who owned and published the Ironman magazine. I guess Vince contacted Perry and paid a fee to have the photo credit and actually never took any of them.

This. He is a homo and hit on me once :)

Well, with that Tom Selleck mustache and the fact you were curiously sniffing around the local bars in Wilton Manors probably had something to do with it. You led the man on! Did you say, No thanks. Elbows too pointy.?
-
This. He is a homo and hit on me once -> :) <-
You seem to be proud of this
-
I would be flattered if a gay ex-Mr. Olympia hit on me. But it's never happened. In fact, no gay guys have ever hit on me. What's wrong with me??!?
