I find it sad any time a pro at who had a hot girlfriend passed away young. I just think of how much oral sex he could have given her.

I would say pros with kids. But which pros have kids? ???

Honestly not many, they know the business they are in.

It's the regular folks that always catch me -

Marianna Komlos was a very active, semi famous member here in the old days. I remember being sad when she passed -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marianna_Komlos .

The one that caught me really bad was an older man named J V Askem, who was Jesse Marunde's coach for many years. He got sick while was writing a history of Olympic Lifting, and a few other things, and it was hard to watch him dying while trying to get things done -

Nope. Don Ross.  So sad...

Loved the bodybuilding life for 25+ years. Gave everything he had to the world of bodybuilding. Loved the sport. Helped hundreds of people get in shape. Love nutrition, fitness and bodybuilding. After 25+ years he had almost nothing. Nothing...

...Then after being a featured writer and photographer for so many years he became the Editor & Chief for Muscular development.  $70,000 per year.  Company car.  Expense account. Paid travel.  After all those years of work and getting amost nothing-  he did it! Six months later he had a massive heart attack and died.

I remember on the Aussie bodybuilding boards some guys were laughing at Zyzz's death for some reason like he wasn't a BBer but then crying when Luke Wood died. Made no sense. Both used way too much shit, Zyzz like a lot of kids I see these days mixing everything together like Caps/Xanax/fuck knows what else, he was just doing Steroids on top.

Was Don Ross also a powerlifter, Tom?

Don and I were friend for many years. Don never competed in the sport of Powerlifting but was very close to many lifters and always took pride in being able to move a lot of weight for a bodybuilder. Don was an excellent athlete and understood the huge difference in bodybuilding and powerlifting and knew how each could compliment the other.

He was a huge fan of all bodybuilders, powerlifters, weight lifters, pro wrestlers, strongeman competitors. Just love the entire "iron game."

He came to see me in prison. Huge bonus points for that. 😀

If you placed 7th in a Bodybuilding show or won the overall he treated you the same.

Good man indeed.

Pffff….Dallas had serious problems previously and still kept going hard. He would have died in the next year or two if he hadn't of stopped taking all the drugs which lets face it he wasn't going to do. Hardly Josh L's fault. Porter Cotrell did know CPR and couldn't save Mohammad Benizza, can't blame the guy that lived.

Despite his death being sad, I know what you mean. When the story was told to me, it fit right in with the personality I knew. The big fella was no-nonsense and very much a man’s man. I could absolutely visualize him doing this. Defiance and masculine stubbornness right till the end.
