Damn!

Looking good Coach!
-
Coach always reminded me of a jacked Paul Freshour from The Circleville Letters Unsolved Mysteries case.
I think because Circleville is a community in Columbus, Ohio. Thus the association with bodybuilding. I also think Paul had decent genetics for bodybuilding, had he chosen to train. He passed away in 2012, at age 70. The case should be on YouTube.
I hope most of my posts make more sense than this one.

Ripped Coach Marino at 60 years of age!

I'm still doing 30min a day 5-6 days and training 6 days. Diet right now is still about 45/40/15 in maintenance calories. Tomorrow starts my third-week post contest so I'll bump my calories up to about 4200-4500 keeping about the same macro ratios but if I want something (cheat wise) I'll have it but not too often
-
have you ever noticed many girls (bikini and figure)
their post show rebound is so bad - it can ruin them? ive seen this several times. their thyroid gets messed up, no longer the attention getter like before etx.

Do we have Coach on the 2019 bucket list?

What is your off season ideal weight?
-
What is your off season ideal weight?
225-230 give or take
-
Coach
Do you have a standard bodybuilding split with regular lifts?
Or do you throw in any lifts/movements you have your athletes do?
Any specific injury prevention and supportive movements?

Uh-oh

225-230 give or take
Are you concerned the yo yo diet routine might negatively affect your health? 230 lbs. is a lot of weight for someone your height and age to carry around. It can be very taxing on your heart. -Makes little difference if the weight is fat or muscle, it's still not good for heart health. Wouldn't you be better off maintaining a lower weight?

What yo yo diet routine are you referring too? The goal is to add 12-15lbs of muscle by this time next year.

What place did you finish?

Looking good, Joe!

Good question.

Thanks, appreciate it 8)

Overall Masters Cal, controversial 4th in the open Lt.hvy but it is what it is.

I bet you can put on more than that. 8)

I probably could but it would make no sense being that I'll be a month short of 58 next year at the time of the Nationals. I'm a Lt. Hvy, going above 225-230 wouldn't help and would put me above 11-12%.
-
Had no idea coach was 57 always just guessed mid 40s looks great for any age but makes it more impressive
-
Almost a 30-year difference between the two of us. I think he was around 28. 4th vs. 2nd

I already posted that if coach was around the 180’s range, year round, lean and athletic, he would look much better imo
Stan mcquay is the same height, weighs 175 competing and 190’s off season, he is in his mid 40’s
But I know coach doesn’t like the lean off season low weight look, each their own

What happens after a contest? Do you taper off the drugs or just quit? Do you use stuff like clomid, anti estogens and HCG after the contest? Do you shoot straight testosterone after to keep from losing the muscle? Not up on this stuff.
Just remember back in the day around contest time guys would make drastic changes in two to three months but seem to lose it just as fast when they went completely clean. The protocol back then was to completely stop using soon after the contest so hopefully their own testosterone would eventually kick back in and it would make you more responsive next time you took drugs. Guys that took drugs on and off year round seem to lost their response to the drugs so it was common for guys to go completely off for many months. I remember most just geared up for one contest a year.

You were at your off-season weight and lost a chunk to become shredded. And now, after you gain 15 lbs. of muscle, you might decide to enter another competition and you'll likely want to lose some "water weight". This cycle goes on and on. You're too enmeshed in it to recognize what you are doing. Gain weight...lose weight...gain weight again and most likely lose weight again too. This is the very definition of a yo yo diet routine.

I don’t even know where to begin with this ridiculous assumption of a “yo yo” diet. You do realize this is bodybuilding and not some fat soccer mom trying every “diet” imaginable to lose weight...right? But for the sake of argument I dieted consistently on pretty much the same calorie and macro range for the entire 17 weeks until the last week of depletion. Btw, unless I die, I’m doing the Nationals this time NEXT YEAR and it will take almost a full year to gain that 15.
Please do some research

Agreed. I'm going to assume and give him the benefit of the doubt in so far as doses and protocols are concerned as well.

Yep. Im a lot younger and looking like shit.
Kind of depressed, but you know when you reach 40 and wanna try other things in life.
Im really thinking about having a DMT experience somewhere later on the year.
Big shout out to those who are still having fun pushing weights, cause Im not :(

I still love it and am addicted to it. I've been doing keto now for going on ten weeks with pig out Sundays. I haven't missed a workout since I started. Today was my 64th consecutive day of not missing a workout or cardio session. My bodyweight has remained the exact same as has my trt protocol. However, I've knocked inches off my waist and recouped some muscle. My BP and bloodwork have both improved as well. The key for me is not to fall off the wagon this winter. Which seems to happen at some point every year. This past winter was particularly an exercise in gluttony. A perfect week for me is keto and training Monday-Saturday culminating with fucking the shit out of my wife Saturday night. Sunday would be an outing by myself with some edibles and a drink or two.

Im lucky. I have a good treadmill. L.A. is good, very clean and great equipment.
Dont tell me about drinks!! You have to have a few to survive in this crazy World
Cool, Man, looks a great week plan. Show us the results later in here. I haven't had Abs in 20 years, but wont give up yet lol

There's no need for research. You are taking what I wrote too literally. Yes, this is bodybuilding....frequent ly gaining and losing weight can be hard on your body no matter how healthfully and carefully you eat. That you are taking your time to accomplish the weight gain, is a major plus. I predict you won't die before competing in the nationals next year. -Best of luck.

Okay, but it must be his dick and not some stranger's. ;)

Typically in the 30-45 minute range if you count all of the follies. But, thank you for paying attention.

Well in the old days you had Arnold and Franco who only took 'roids for a few weeks leading up to the contests. Otherwise they relied upon wholesome foods and hard training to build that muscle, along with perhaps some protein shakes. These guys today are taking serious serious drugs the year round. Funny thing is, none of these steroid addicts of today could carry Arnold or Franco's gym bag.

Oh great, here we go again, another “expert”. Fun fact. Arnold was on a shit ton back then because he actually “grew” into his prep. Like 190 to 240 inside of 9 weeks. Yes, I witnessed it when he was training for the 80’ Olympia and don’t think for one second the others weren’t right up there. Let me also add that everything back then was real.
As for me, I’m off 7mos out of the year and when I’m on, don’t believe more is better and you get better, longer lasting results using lower doses for longer periods of time which is why I’ve never had a steroid related problem of any kind in the 35 + years I’ve been using them.

Serious question here. When you say off for 7 months do you mean no TRT dose as in nothing, cold turkey? Or do you take TRT and not consider it being "on". Not being a wise ass, genuine question.

I’ll taper off then PCT for 4 weeks. Although I will say since I need to add some muscle for next year I’ll be on longer but still low dose (for bodybuilding)

Hcg first then clomid, right?

Day to day activities include more than just training for X amount of time.
He’s asking if you saw his day to day activities, which include his daily routine of eating, sleeping, drug use, etc. His question was phrased just fine the first time.

I’m just interpreting the meaning of his question.
And, of course, it’s impossible to know what most others do in their day to say activity.

always a big fan of his build - back in 1999/2000 stan was always on the tv show "American Muscle" and he was one of the 1st guys who inspired me. he was doing Muscle Mania at the time
