wow!
good luck - i want him to maintain his title -
-
Wow! Just ........ WOW!

He's hiding a lot in that pose. But I can already tell he's small and holding a lot of water. Not even Top 6 this year. One time lucky fluke.

Just admit you don’t know what you’re talking about and we’ll leave it at that
-
Rhoden is the one to beat this year, and since it looks like Phil Heath might be afraid to compete, perhaps someone else will step to the plate.

Coach, why do you keep pushing this guy? ::)
Oh, is it because he works out at golds and you talk to him lol

How’s your Olympia training going?

Overall, I think Phil is vastly superior to Rhoden.
But don’t know if Phil is competing this year.
-
How’s your Olympia training going?
Going pretty well, been upping my protein and doing more upright rows in my work outs. Much more than before
How’s yours going, stud?
-

Phil is def much better, his details and shape in person is very impressive in competition form
Never cared for rhoden, people used to critique Cormier for having a “boring” physique but rhoden takes it to another level imo. Roelly and Curry are much more impressive

This proves how negative people like Dave Palumbo and Shawn Ray will make video after video discussing things that eventually blow in their faces.
-

Phil crushes Rhoden on several poses. It’s the midsection that the judges are focusing on. Can Phil overcome his midsection problem?
-

Let me guess, you were the guy that thought that Levrone was going to beat Phil in 2016. How did you feel when Levrone landed in last place?
PS: Palumbo also thought that Levrone was going to beat Phil. Another reason to dismiss Dave as an so called “expert”

huge difference from his guest pose spot gear its a wonder drug looks great no gut

LOLOLOL...Even you don't believe this shit. He's not hiding anything. Look at his track record at the Olympia.
-
Dexter looks better ....
WoooSHHHHHHHHHHHHH
-
The guy has that classic build hes not a mass monster that looks like a mess we complain about what BB has become then we hate on a guy who has no gut and brings a smaller but classic build.......oh and fyi shut the fuck up red meat kid
-
I said weeks ago this board is going to be wiping tears with their glitter panties when Rhoden wins again this year.
-
I still think Phil wins if he competes. Also have Brandon Curry up there, too. But this update picture is definitely impressive. If he has made this much improvements so far, its possible he might even be able to come in a little better than last year (if he does everything right and goes insane in the gym, high with the supps, etc).
-
Still wouldn’t be shocked if curry, bonac, and roelly beat him.
-
Coach, why do you keep pushing this guy? ::)
Oh, is it because he works out at golds and you talk to him lol
Not because it's Shawn and he train at Golds. Just pointing right from the get-go (which would be the NY Pro) when most were talking shit about his condition about how he didn't train, he
s lazy, etc that VERY FEW knew what they were talking about, feel free to throw on Shawn Ray as well as 98% of the posters on here that had no clue what they were talking about...yes, that includes you as well.
-
The point is, it isn't whether who's better, it's a matter of who comes in the best condition. Most of you judged him a month ago instead of September and wrote him off over a month ago.
-
Going pretty well, been upping my protein and doing more upright rows in my work outs. Much more than before
How’s yours going, stud?
Going well. I learned on getbig that training and diet is just as important as drugs, so I am going to rely mostly on diet and training.
-

As someone mentioned above, people gave Chris Cormier crap for having a boring physique, yet the same could be said about Rhoden.
-

We're not talking the genetics of his structure, we're talking about his conditioning. Quit trying to stir shit.

Agreed, although, I do not think that Phil can overcome his midsection problems.
I actually never liked Rhoden's physique. However, he was better on that day when compared to Heath due to a better midsection.
But other than that, I always thought Rhoden had a boring physique and I consider him one of the worst Mr. O's. There are a ton of people with the same level of conditioning with better size and a more complete physique. I would take Kai or Curry's physique over Rhoden's any day.

I agree that many bodybuilders have been better - but this isn't the 1999 Mr. Olympia contest.
Among the competitors today, Rhoden deserved to win, IMO.
Rhoden also best Chris Dickerson's record for most aging Mr. Olympia.

This is probably most due to Rhoden’s use of HGH. It helps keep him young. I doubt that Dickerson used anything other than steroids.
-
Rhoden looks great in that shot, poised to win the pageant easily by the looks of this.
-

We shall see, won’t we? ;D the Olympia is still months away, and he hasn’t won or defended his title yet
Like I said I’ll take Shawn Ray, a hall a famer bber who actually KNOWS what he was doing when competing
-
Going well. I learned on getbig that training and diet is just as important as drugs, so I am going to rely mostly on diet and training.
The irony is isn’t rhoden’s physique and Levrone’s physique proof it’s genetics first, then drugs ;D
No matter how much clean food you eat or how hard you train, you don’t change a physique that drastically in that short of a time frame, the steroids, gh, insulin, peptides, ARE the main difference at the level of competition
Coach thinks he’s the ONLY one in the know, that’s laughable
-

the rumor was he was injecting gh straight from a rhesus monkey
-
Guys why are we judging the contest before the show?
His condition today means nothing.
-
Phil is superior in every way, aside from the question of the gut.

Nope, never said I was the only one. There are few on here who understood it the ones who didn’t, like yourself, SF and others are the ones who didn’t because they counted him out and didn’t give him the day he guest posed at the NY Pro.
As for the drugs, I have no clue why you keeps being that up since it’s a given in bodybuilding and regardless of that, you still didn’t give him a chance and like I said, the “experts” didn’t even give him a chance. But to clarify, as far as the drugs, you CANNOT have one expect to work without the other.
-
Rhoden is the most non-charismatic Mr. O ever, and it's clear he's not living the bodybuilding lifestyle year round. He'll be lucky if he's gifted a top 5 slot. A one time Mr O.

If he and I were showering together like Arnold and Franco in pumping iron, i'd piss down the drain while facing him.

I just think he’s a shitty Mr. O. I was disappointed he won.
Would have preferred Bonac or Curry, even Dexter.
Rhoden is just underwhelming.

Cliff notes: He once said "Hi" to me at Gold's Venice.

Thought it said shawn rhoden on crack

Coach I was surprised how Rhoden looked at the NY pro especially when compared to everyone else. That said I know none of it matters until the day of the show so all pictures, regardless of size and conditioning, mean nothing.

On a serious note . Pay attention on how he looked in early May and then in late June …… and he is a man in his mid 40's ! yes ….. PEDs are that effective .
Maybe he can start a trend each year who makes the most dramatic transformation in less time ……. that'll b the reality that this "sport" lacks to expose .
WoooSHHHHHHHHHHHHH Dinner of legends

I doubt he's even started his cycle yet. This was just his switching from off season to 6 anabolic meals per day. All perfectly timed of course.

Like Gustavo Badell ?
WoooSHHHHHH La shit

Like Gustavo Badell ?
WoooSHHHHHH La shit
Exactly. Pretty sure it will only be an 8 week cycle.
-
One of the most impressive areas of improvement are the cuts on the side of his thigh, and the cuts in the glute area
Not too long ago, he looked like a soft woman
-

exactly
glute/ham tie in he has is amazing
-
I'm writing him off today. He's not going to win again. Perhaps you don't know what you're talking about.
Perhaps you can go back and find a post where I said he’d win again. He might or might not it’s a wide open field but I’ve never made the prediction that he’d win again. Perhaps you don’t pay attention too well.

It looks like his pre-contest diet is making a huge impact already.

I don’t think if he won the Olympia anyone would’ve been surprised since as he’s said many time this is what he’s done every offseason. But, yes. It only counts the day of the show.
-

Maybe he will or maybe he won’t make the top five spot but based on his competition history he’ll be in the top five
-
I don't think his physique is boring. It is balanced to the point that nothing pops out and has a freak factor. I do think his personality is boring as hell though. He is very lackluster.
I wanted him to win again simply to drive Heath over the edge. But if Heath is pussying out, I can change my mind on it.
-
I hope he nails 6th place.

What a swan song it would have been if Phil had won last year, then won #9 this year, beating the record held by Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman, only to retire just two months before his 40th birthday.
-
I hope he nails 6th place.
Dexter has 6th place locked in like last year though
-
In just two months from that Pittsburg guest posing to this shape. Great transformation. :o
-
Personally I'm not impressed with a guy who is out of shape throughout most of the year, then does a three month drug blitz so he can drag his chemically propped up physique onto the stage where he nearly has a stroke going through his mandatories. Call me old fashioned but to me that's not bodybuilding. Physical Culture is no longer associated with these drug fueled affairs called "bodybuilding contests".

Arnold used to do that all the time. His “off season” pics were proof of it.

Arnold was never a fat sloppy fuck. Always trained and ate healthy. And Arnold never did the drugs these nitwits are doing.

“Arnold ...ate healthy” You nor I have any clue what he ate. And Arnold used any and every drug available at the time.

From what Arnold said and from his lean off season appearance, it can be concluded he ate healthy. And again, Arnold didn't do the drugs these nitwits are doing.

Let me know how he went from 190 to 240 in 9 weeks.
-

;D
Exactly.
I was about to say - he ate red meat, kid.
And how did Arnold need steel plates in his chest by age 50 if he was so "healthy"?
-
Flexatron? What was his second choice? Scrotum Hat?
-
Shawn Ray commented on Rhoden's instagram post calling this picture into question, saying it isn't from this year. Tried going back and getting a screenshot for you but it's either been buried by other comments or deleted.
-
Let me know how he went from 190 to 240 in 9 weeks.
Muscle memory and more food. Did he do steroids? Obviously. But nothing like these guys today. Apples and oranges.
-
I`ve done as much at times with my own body.
He looks great........primed for another win.
-
Rhoden should be respected. The only thing missing is mid back density.
-
I didn't click the picture as I would rather focus on how my own Olympia prep is going
Just to let you know guys:
-I've upped my sports science supplement dose, it's gone from 20 mg winstrol a week to 30 mg. In the coming weeks I might add some proviron in to free up some testosterone from the SHBG.
-Fish is beginning to be phased in over chicken, for its skin-thinning properties.
-I'm paying Charles Glass $5000 for a session to tweak my thumb positioning in the side lateral raise.
-Famed Romanian coach Sebastian Ivascu will be taking over my prep to dial me in during the final 4 weeks.
-
Let me know how he went from 190 to 240 in 9 weeks.
It was from eating 6 meals a day and lifting twice a day, every day
-
Rhoden should be respected. The only thing missing is mid back density.
Nope.

BINGO LOL ;D

the thong warrior drama/build up ;D ;D ;D
its semi similar to hyping up a prize fight.
I wish Kai and Phil would compete - that would be an amazing event for us as fans.
Kai and Phil are dodging the show in my opinion - semi coward move to dive in and go for it. (not in a shit talking way...but they are side stepping this event)
-----im a fan of people in general who put it on the line and compete even if odds are not the best. go balls to the wall/go for the glory.

Dave is a complete hypocrite
He always complains about how stubborn bodybuilders need to completely come off drugs and let their receptors have time to bounce back.
Rhoden did just that... and Dave blasted him. Video after video. Pure hypocrisy.

solid point you make
gotta pull for Shawn
