The last XTS was finished in Oshawa, Ontario this week and the FWD Cadillac sedan as we’ve known it since the K-body Seville launched in 1980 is no more.

My parents had an 85 de Ville growing up like this one, so I have a soft spot for FWD Cadillac's. I talked them into getting it. :D

Looks like my pimping days are finally coming to an end. :(

Garbage cars in quality, reliability, resale value, drives like shit, non profitable dying brand, all American marques are

I never understood putting all that HP in a front wheel drive. You can’t even do a proper burn out.

From an economic point of view the big three are very important to America. Employing over 300,000 Americans and paying well.
All three have improved the design and build quality of their vehicles as well as improved the efficiency of their plants.

Not really, look at their overall sales, FCA (fiat/Chrysler) are struggling, Cadillac can’t compete with the Germans or Japanese in luxury or anything for that matter
That leaves ford in the middle of all that
Sure they have gotten “better” I mean how couldn’t you when all your cars were more garbage decades past

They have improved but not on par with other automakers like Toyota, Honda, or other German name plates

Germans have started slipping too. I think only Honda produces quality vehicles these days.
-
No shit they're out of business. Who's buying those things? Soon as I saw the pic I looked for the little old lady peering through the steering wheel.

Chrysler? Not!

Still have a Honda CR-V from 2004 (four CR-V's total in my driveway), never did a thing to it except tires and brakes.
Still runs amazing 15 years later.

Even if the Big Three did improve quality, it is nothing compared to Toyota/Honda/Hyundai or Kia. I have owned all the major domestic and foreign brands. GM = junk, Ford = so so and Chrysler = garbage. The UAW is responsible for a lot of this.

Hyundai and Kai are both complete shit.

German quality is way overrated : I had Audi, VW and both had major failures and I got rid of them.
Alfa Romeo is doing great cars lately (from 2010 onwards) but I guess in the US they're not selling.
Japanese cars are the last reliable machines on the market but a part from few exceptions are designed for 70yo men.
Don't know about American brands since they are not imported here (not that I know).

Hardly
The ones I've owned got 100K miles with nothing more than oil and brakes. And apparently not the ones a lot of other people own...

"according to vehicle quality tracker J.D. Power, Toyota and BMW and other stalwarts of quality and reputation are chasing Hyundai, Kia and Hyundai luxury brand Genesis for the fewest glitches and design flaws."

I don't know how to cramm into that thing without a shoehorn to get in and a can opener to get out.
