Who knows ??
My Friend,
Geoff capes is 70 & was twice WSM
And British & Commonwealth Shot put Champion
He’s weighs up around 325+ Lbs
And definitely took his fair share of PEDS for a long time
And as for food / fat intake it scared Me at times.
Granted he’s got the bone structure of an Elephant & Likely the Constitution
To go with it.

Haven't heard Geoff Capes name in a while! I remember him from WSM. But i guess he doesn't work out much any more :)

Has a face of a 65 year old. Why does everyone do shallow leg presses? Is it more beneficial for the legs to pile on the weight and do the equivalence of a quarter squat? Yates and Shawn Ray went deep. Platz did everything deep from squats, hack and leg press.

A deep leg press causes the spine to become rounded and ultimately injured. A well known sports physiologist, Stuart McGill, makes a case against doing it all together.
"Dr. Stuart McGill, who in his book Low Back Disorders, states:
“the leg press sometimes causes the pelvis to rotate away from the back rest when the weight is lowered. The resultant lumbar flexion produces herniating conditions for the disc!”"

I'm not sure why anyone would want to be 260 pounds in their 40's? Of course this would age you!

Yes sadly he has - He was up around 425lbs !! In the late 90s early 20s
He’s around the 320lbs area nowadays.

all his muscles turned to fat..

Jesus he looks like complete shit.
He's out of breath just talking.
What a moron. I can't wait until he dies of a "genetic precondition..."

Ha - Stopped Heavy physical training & lifting & ate Himself that Way !!

Depends on the goal. Too many people hold themselves back due to age. In most cases it’s backwards thinking.

It’s comments like this that make me question your sanity. Justification of weighing 260 at 44 years old? Look at the guy, he looks like death as would most anyone weighing that much through gear.
-
Looks like blown out shit. Looks closer to 60 than 40.
What is the lesson that should be learned here?
Between this bag of smashed assholes and Dominic Triveline, NEVER, and i mean NEVER, EVER hire Justin Harris.

Too many people do put unnecessary limits on themselves, regardless of age. Backwards thinking due to age is definitely is not progressive or positive. I'm a firm believer in shooting for the moon. I am also a believer in doing it in a solid, sensible and practical way. From my own experience, as an advanced senior citizen who seems to be in great health (according to my physicians), being overweight regardless of whether it is muscle weight or fat, is not the healthiest way to go. However, if your goal is to don a thong and get back in the game on the competition stage, go-4-it. You only live once. Seriously! :)

It comes down to genetics and to be fair if you’re dieting right, a week or two before a show you should look like “death” my wife calls this the “Holy Shit” look. He’s 5’11 260 and will probably step on stage at like 245-250. I looked liked death a week out before my show at 5’6 206. Weighed in the day before the show at 196 stepped on stage the next day at 204 dry as a bone at 56, this was just in May. Now, today, I’m 57 and my off-season weight is 242. At this rate I seriously doubt I’ll make the Lt. Hvys at the Nationals in July because at 239 I was still below 12% and I’m not even at my projected off-season weight yet.
He’s also correct by saying the off-season months are probably hardest because of the amount of food that needs to taken in and before you get into the gear part, in the off-season it’s probably close to a fraction of what you think it is.
-
Looks decent but he shows upper body in posing (rather than legs) which seems weird in a leg training video. Plus definitely is somewhat roid-gutted during the training part of video as well as posing (see 11:30 to 12:00).
-
Depends on the goal. Too many people hold themselves back due to age. In most cases it’s backwards thinking.
The goal should be to stay alive and be healthy. These older guys walking around at 280+lbs in the off season is insane. They're ticking time bombs.

Youre trying to rationalize with a guy who is 5’6” and 230lbs and nearing 60.👎

I completely agree. I’m closer to 60 than 50 and I’m in the best health of my life and by any metric in good shape. I set training and running goals, still trying to bring up my calves and build brachials like Arnold’s. I do however seem to always be nursing “ a little something”

Really - Are they.
In the grand scheme of things wether you be short / tall / fat / thin / underweight / overweight
Smoke / Drink / Take Drugs Etc Etc We’re all Going To Die Some sooner than others.
It’s the one sure thing for everyone - And Lots of Thinks we do as Humans carry their own kind of risks.
We’re all Ticking Time Bombs.

I was going to say I would completely agree if we were fat sloths sitting around eating tons of shit, drinking beer, alcohol, smoking and doing nothing. But that’s not what we do.

Sadly coach there are just so many very negative folk on here
I’m at a loss at time why they’re on a Bodybuilding forum as they seem to hate it & virtually
Everything about it.
Clearly there are risks involved as there are in everything we do to a greater or lesser extent
It’s very likely that those posting spiteful negative comments aren’t also taking various risks
In their lives in one form or another.

Isnt XFactor the pretend financial success?? I would absolutely love to discuss this with him. I mean I am sure he would be way over my capacity to understand but I’ve always wanted to talk to a real live rich guy! ;D

I definitely do, I would call myself typical new money.
I still want to look like this dude when I'm in my 50's, maybe a little less jacked though :-)

I hardly go out but have 2 Roger Dubois watches. The newest one being (in order paid in advance) the Excalibur Spider Perilli Skeleton Red.
Not bad for a glorified rep counter/Tee shirt pusher
I would post the pic but I can’t post pics from my phone for whatever reason. Check it out. It’s a badass watch

Oh I don’t need to look. I know the time piece well. Very good taste and original. Look at coach covering all bases like a champ!

The screw bolts on the face seem to set out of line with their recessed area and look a little distressed - hum.

Just got onto a new medical portal for my cardiologist. A Dr. that's part of his network posted up my records from 2007 when I went in for a wuick GERD roto-rooter esophagus surgery.
2007 - Weight 192 lbs. BP - 122/81 (age 41)
Just had my quick initial visit with new cardiologist and took my numbers.
2019 - Weight 192 lbs. BP - 119/71 (age 53)
Don't get heavy w/ age...

My thoughts exactly. Plus the diameter base of the hands looks a little thicker/wider than usual, no? Probably one of my favourite watches though.
Who is XFactor / who does he proclaim to be?

This, as if your somewhat blurry photo validates shit. :-\
I imagine I am one of the youngest posters on this board (not even 30 yet) but good God, I can't imagine myself posting photos of (apparently legitimate) timepieces on a BB board to impress anonymous men on the internet. Sad!

Not sure what 'current status' means but go ahead and suit yourself. I see little reason to post my minimally-clothed body on a board for men to admire. I don't even let the girls I have in rotation validate me, let alone closeted Get Biggers.

Believe it or not pal, plenty of us come here to GetBig to keep up to date with gossip, developments and just general news in BBing. That and some banter amongst each other. How can you conflate that with posting personal pictures for validation? Must say, I'm not surprised that your mind instantly made the connection though... ::)

Ah yeah, they are. You don't want to carry excess weight, whether it's muscle or fat, especially as you get older. That's why you see smart football players and bodybuilders slim down after they are done. No reason to continue to overtax your vitals organs.

100% agree with this guy. The older I get the more my goals change. Jacked swimmer that can run 5kms with ease is my goal.

I graciously thank you. It's become very hard to manage all of it. Running a company, two kids, big brother, other hobbies, etc.. The gym part is easy it's consistently choosing to eat well which presents it's challenges.

What's healthy for one may not be for another. IMO, It is most important is to find a balance between enjoying life, achieving goals and being realistic. I feel most healthy when I exercise in moderation, weigh between 170-175 lbs. and eat well. At 75 years of age, my goals aren't the same as they were 10 or 15 years ago. So far, so good.

Or it is a statement about how much you admire timepieces, specially those you wear on your wrist. Being retired, I pretty much couldn't care less what time it is....and the clock on my smart phone is easier for me to read. :)

Not necessarily. Not everyone is in to watches even those of us with small penises. ;D
