I’m trying to think of the time span where it happened. It doesn’t seem like there was an exact moment but more of a series of disappointing events and quotes.
I think it started somewhere around the time it was discovered that he was banging the ugly Guatemalan maid and then fully died somewhere around climate talks/anti-president quotes and shamelessly peddling vegan fart powder.

Years ago in a magazine article Arnold talked about why he became a republican in the first place. He really liked Richard Nixon because of his authoritative approach. Arnold mentioned that most people weren't smart enough to manage their own lives so they needed an authoritative leader to force them to do the right thing. That attitude is much more like the hardcore left's desire to manage your life from cradle to grave and probably why he switched.
