This is a great and touching interview with Evan Centopani on his body image problem, Entry into Bodybuilding, Teaching Himself to Weld and building his own equipment, etc and a very touch acknowledge meant of the importance of his father and the role he has played in his life
Did he ever get that incident with the Asian person on the squat rack settled?
Squat rack looks good, the clear over bare metal typically goes wrong though ( on rods) might be okay in the shed though as it won't be driving around.

I said to myself he did a damn good job of making this rack even though he mentions he really had no idea what he was doing and taught himself to weld.
There was a company called ICARIAN some years ago that made their equipment like that... stainless steel covered with a thick layer of polyurethane.
Not sure that ICARIAN is still in business... I think I heard it was bought out by another company... Nonetheless their equipment was SOLID just as this rack.
Maybe Centopani can get into the equipment manufacturing business on a specialty basis until he can get a full blown business going.
There has been a lot of fucken estrogen in threads around here lately. Fuck.

Showing that a person is much more than a bodybuilder and loves his father is ESTROGEN FILLED to you?
I wish I had such a relationship with my father like this....
In a time when "FAMILY" practically means NOTHING, it is moving/refreshing/emotional to see this
No, but being an attention whoring buttslut like Evan is. Oh wait...I know what you're feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling.HE'S SOOOOOOO BRRRRAAAAVE!!!!
attention whoring buttslut?????
Please explain I am missing something
He doesn't come across that way to me in all his Vid's or Podcasts/interviews.
Seems like a decent guy in an industry full of head-cases.

Lou and Matty had a great relationship....No, it was a love/hate relationship
Really? My words were not plain enough? I find him to be a typical, worthless, lying, drug addicted, lazy sell anything for money and/or drugs, "bodybuilder".
If you feel otherwise, I don't mind but I think I am correct in my character assessment of him.
Dude, you can be a funny guy but do you ever have a good word to say about anyone? Your insults would carry much more weight if you selected your targets rather than attacking everyone.
No, it was a love/hate relationship
Well, should I find something admirable about a person, I would say so. I really don't think Evan is admirable in any way I have seen. People such as him are liars. If it's okay for them to spew their rote then I see no reason why someone (and I am far from alone in doing so) should not only call them on it, but belittle them for it. For example, Joe Weider was complete charlatan. I used to train in a couple of gyms that one of his relatives used and they said he was a farce. Now, you can take that with a gram of gear or a grain of salt, because anything that is said here can be very difficult to prove and I have no problem with you not believing me.I like it...
Bodybuilding today is just a bloated (and less wealthy) version of Hollyweird.
By that I mean it is a facade. A whitewashed tomb that while it looks "nice" to the casual observer, once you open the door you realize that it's a tomb containing nothing but the real possibility of self induced illness and early death.
I don't cut myself any slack. I am not at all intelligent and my physique is nothing compared to many here whether or not they take PED. I am admittedly a fan of bodybuilding from the 40s through 1985 or so, I think Haney was way overrated and that Dorian should have lost more than once or twice too. Without the "helpers" the freaks would have remained tweaks.
The muscularly obese are ego driven and will ultimately wind up in an early grave and I think that's fine. If Evan is changing it remains to be seen. Anyone can "change", the key is to change for the better. If he does, in all likelihood it's due to something going on in the background (i.e., health related or legal "issues") that we're not (yet?) aware of.

No, your words were not clear enough, because you have not given any specifics to justify having such contempt of the guy.
Did he swindle money out of fans/followers?
Did he molest/rape/violate anyone?
Did he endorse products that were a farce?
How did he violate you to make you so angry?
My words were more than clear enough because you already know the truth of your questions. Virtually all "products" associated with this "healthy hobby" are a farce. To be blunt, his physique is built on sand. Talk with his "fans and followers", I am familiar enough with him but I am far from a "fan or follower" and more than smart enough to avoid giving money to a charlatan. WTF kind of "question" is "Did he molest/rape/violate anyone?", LOL!
If you feeeeeeeeeeeeel this is me being "angry" you are being childish in your attempt to make a point in a roundabout way, especially so your ridiculous question about him raping, molesting or violating anyone. You like him? Fine.
Do you work for NASA or something as you certainly are living up to Never A Straight Answer
Scott I appreciate where you are coming from on the rotten underbelly of the bb industry. You are right to call alot of it out but lets not lose sight of the good bits that exist too. I bet we have both gained lots of happiness and more from our interest in BB. It has been a passion of mine my whole life and has given me something to focus on, something to allow me to both exercise and exorcise anxieties and bad feelings, etc. From what I gather you where a very strong man and had some amazing lifts. That must have boosted you and still now make you proud and happy to remember? I know there is lots of shit but some real good stuff as well. I for one would love to hear you talk about the good things as you see them as well as the bad.
